“Your friend gets one for half price, and you save $20.”
I guess Z never said that math was one of his strengths.
Literally the same thought i had😂
I think he means in a general sense, as in between both of you. It's 100 rather than 2*60.
"MAF"
Crazy prayingmantis 1 = 60, 2=120
A pair = 100
We split the bill for a pair, split ‘m and use ‘m as a center and each pay 50 for the pair! we each save 10, which together adds up to 20! If we buy 2 single ones, it adds up to 120... if i want a pair myself, I save 20 bc I didn’t buy 2 separate speakers for 60 per speaker... I guess is what z means?!?
Crazy prayingmantis yeah, it does... it changes everything cause if he misspoke and meant what I said... then the accidental half price mentioning doesn’t even matter anymore! :)
Got mine a month ago - ordered them the same day they launched on Amazon. Paired with an SB-2000, they sound amazing in our small 2.1 theater room. Crossed over at standard 80hz. Pretty damn impressive what Micca has made available for $100/pair.
OoO's or 42x's? That is the question of questions right now Mr. Zeos
Need this answer too
OoO ....... 👍 OoO ..... Definately 👍 OoO
MB 42x sounds different ...... Not good
Micca products are very affordable and not bad at all!
I see them growing as a company in the future!
They just have to grow international!
I really hope they do as i would love to get some of their speakers were i live :(
You know what would be nice? RB42 Towers.
Someone's done it, Z had them at his RMAF suite. Two stacks of like, six RB42's each.
@@waffle911 Those were belonging to dms he built them and has a video of him building them.
Yes, just like the Dayton T-Line speakers.
@@radomcrado9614 yes, that was it.
I hate that Micca products aren't available outside of the US. At least not in Europe.
Me too :(
Me three
Just punching in my 2 cents ; Micca products available in Canada (amazon at least)
@@crazyprayingmantis5596 you'll be surprised of the amount of stuff Canadians cant buy stuff from America (USA sellers refuse to ship). We get big bold letters basically telling us to fuck off. Or "this item does not ship to Toronto, canada"
@@ChartreuseCapybara Yeah, I hear of a lot of Canadians having AmeriFriends who they can have stuff shipped to and relayed over the boarder.
Been waiting for this review, very surprised that the regular rb42 is better than the rb42c. I figured that the OoO is not as refined. How do the OoO compare to the mb42x?
I enjoy your reviews very much! So just to be on the safe side, would you recommend the OoO's over the MB42X's as a LRC configuration for a 14' X 17' size room?
Yep. Just mounted the Micca OoO speakers for rear channel. Not hearing enough from them. My receiver is old so, that goes next.
Watching again in 2024, reconsidering these for a desktop setup, making me very nostalgic about the old apartment.
I flipped out when Polaris started playing. You’d be surprised (or maybe not) how many people have never seen or heard of Pete and Pete.
Micca ooo Or micca mb42c ? Which one speaker will sound better for central channel??
Great Review! I started looking at these to update my speakers and help reduce the foot prints in my living room. I will keep my Polk Sub to drive the low signals.
At that Price, I may wire two of them as my center channel.
So i'm trying to build a micro home theater, what are your thoughts on have these as the centers, and using micca covo-s in the rear, and a velodyne microvee? I guess my priorities would be space, quality, and price.
I cant decide between getting these or the Micca RB42s for my desktop PC. (Will not be buying a subwoofer, not enough room in my small apartment) Thoughts?
get the rb42s
How do they compare to the MK442? I personally like the Dayton MK442 for a center channel.. works great in a smallish to average size living room.. IMHO fuller sounding than the Definitive Technology ProCenter 1000 that I had prior
You're great man, one hell of a personality. Good review to, i wish you would list all the music you play in your videos and what model of subs you have here.
@analogaudio rules
If you look in the description box of this video there is a link to the sound demo of these speakers.
In that video description there is a list of music in the demo.
If you look at most of his sound demos there usually is a list of songs
Would these work in a near-field home theater? I have a little space under a loft bed that has great acoustics because of the mattress above and am wondering if they would get piercing at short distances
careful recommending using that as a center channel, it is very likely that they have a different crossover in the center channel than the left/right pairs. I could be wrong, but double check. The left/right speakers are likely d'appolitos but if you turn a d'appolito on its side it has horrible lobing characteristics because it is literally designed to limit floor-ceiling bounce, so if you turn it on its side it makes for a center channel that has a horribly tight horizontal dispersion. The center channel they make is likely a 2.5 way or something, with a completely different crossover and the two woofers playing different content to stop that from happening. That's also likely why you found the bass lacking in the center. That said, centers are normally in the center of the room which helps their bass because of modes and also pushed near a wall or cabinet, which helps their bass. So some of that might have been a compensation for that.
ALL MTM's are d'appolito, there is no magic crossover designs, they are not 2.5's like some towers compensating for baffle step. Any MTM turned on horizontally will have the narrow horizontal pattern and floor/reflections you described. Centers are only turned horizontally due to cabinet/TV restrictions, by far the best layout would be three of these all vertical if possible. Some companies compensate as much as possible by offsetting the tweeter above woofers in center but requires a higher cabinet which deters buyers whom are unaware of the position reason and still not as ideal as full vertical.
I love Shostakovich. Also, it's "Shaw-stuh-co-v-itch"
Ok, should i get one.of these or the Andrew Jones Pioneer Center?? They are about the same price here
You know you have an audiophile doing the review when they are calling out cars outside based on the noise the engine makes.
Z stop doing reviews of awsome stuff I cannot buy because no one ships to Italy PLEASE ADOPT ME :|
same problem in norway, can't get micca to ship anything here
Micca is pretty much only sold in so-called CON-US (Continental US)

I would love to be able to get some Micca RB42 speakers but they don't sell them in my country, and the conversion rate on amazon well damm!!!!!!!!
How do you think these would be in a 2.1 with the Edifier T5?
Petition to get Z to replace all his foamblocks with Micca OoOs!
Zeos, please could you review Beyerdynamic’s Amiron Wireless Headphones? They’re currently on DROP for 550 dollars and would love to know your opinion on them! Keep up the good work, my friend 👍
Man, these seem amazing for the price. I have the most modern cliipsch 5.1 speaker system for my computer. The sub is great, but the speakers are seriously lacking. I wonder how these would sound and if they would even work with the Klipsch? Thoughts? I think whether or not they would work good as near field would be the big question.
- Depends how the 5.1 Klipsch kit is powered. does the 5 Sats use regular speaker wire off the sub or something more custom? But regardless Id say no. you would want 5 OoO's so they match Sonically. When it comes to the Sub, Mixing and matching Subs is normal its all about matching everything else. If your using an A/V receiver with decent Power and it can output the power they need since they;re pretty low sensitivity and 4 ohms.
- What 5.1 System do you have since there are quite a few? aAe you talking about them lacking the mid to low-mids? That will be my guess if its a PC kit with 3" drivers or something.
- IMO, Every Tiny 5.1 Surround Kit I see Marketed for PC desks or small spaces like Logitech, Klipsch, etc) and they offer the worst value and completely impractical (unless mounted on a Sim Rig I guess). Ive been through that mess a few times with them as a teen and didnt know better until highschool and I bought some used Klipsch RB81s Bookshelves for $150 and never went back to anything but but stereo, headphones or a 2.1 when it comes to Workstation/Gaming Desk.
- Bookshelves and Mini amps are so cheap and good these days its crazy. You dont need a sub with some of course it depends on the persons preference obviously. But yeah, Ditch the 5.1 setup, man. I dont know your budget but let say you have $250.
Get a Fosi V3 amp = $80
Then spend the get any $170 on pair of bookshelves and you win. Less Clutter, less wires, no more gutless PC Speakers, and you can add a sub later or keep the one you have, idk.
I prefer a wider sound-stage as that gives you the larger perceived sound field.
atr the moment i just bought a pair of Monoprice Encore B6s last week during their cyber monday sale and I couldnt not buy them for the 70%+ off if i remember. Once they shipped, I hooked them up to my FOSI V3 and had my mind blown yet again by another pair of bookshelves. The Sound-Stage on them are insane and why i wanted them. Im a crackhead like Zeos when it comes to cheap/good audio gear. Its a problem. I have like 20 different paits/brands at the moment will always keep collecting, trading, or buy more of them, Even though Its a stupid waste of money. Im also no where near as wealthy as Zeos.
- My Main Media Room uses use a 9.2 from 4 pairs of the HivI 3.1a DIY Kit 3 way Bookshelves, (Best bang for buck ive ever heard), and Two 15" Dayton Ultimax Sub that were DIY Kits. Towers these days are just big too big and impractial for me. Bookshelves and Subs all day.
Should I go for the OoO or RB42C to pair with a couple of RB42s as my Center?
Stumbled upon this video after just reading about the OoO but had to comment on The Adventures of Pete & Pete. Was immediately taken back by the song and couldn't quite place it and now I have to binge it wherever I can find it
So I have RB42s and a RB42c . Is that a better match then sticking one of these in the middle ?
I would stick with the combination you have. Those can handle more power.
Always put a good center in the middle, so buy RB42C for your center.
Stijn van kampen yes the rb42c is what I have at center now
@@mastermachetier5594 then no need to get the OoO...
For a desktop setup, would these or a set of RB42s (or even Overnight Sensations if talking DIY) be better? Haven't fully decided on whether or not I'd use a sub but if I did would probably be on the smaller side
David J RB42s wont need a sub on a desk setup. I run mine with smsl sa98 and they get very LOUD.
Same question this is 50 dollars cheaper than rb42 now
i want to mount this on my rear as surround on the ceiling but dont know how. i look for brackets for nothing worked so far. any ideas if theres an easier way? they got a a little bit of weight so i want to make sure they are secure.
Im thinking about pairing one of these with a pair of mb42x in a theater system for my bedroom. Would this sound good together?
Has Zeos recommended an amp for these yet? I’m running rb42 on the smsl sa100 and it’s okay for a desk but it lacks power for a room.
I run my RB42s with SA98e and they fill nicely a medium sized room... They would be better with more power. Maybe a Crown amp?
I have a Cambridge AM5 (25 Watts), it is way louder and punchier than it was with my Douk Audio 100W desktop amp I had on it.
"I don't know what sort of chickens they sacrificed.... But I hope they never run out of chickens...." Funniest shit I've heard in recent memory!! I'm dying over here!! 👏😂👏😂👏
Hi, I have a Polk Audio RM6750 & an Onkyo TX-SR494, If I replace the L/R speaker with this Micca OoO, will I be have some issues with the sound quality?
I think he likes them. How's the imaging? They remind me of a little baby brother to the Dunlavy SC-1. At 1/10th the price. I wonder if you could offset the tweeter backwards and surround them with felt for better time alignment and imaging.
Right now I have: F-L\R: RB42; Center: RB42c; FPr-L\R: Airmotiv B1; RSr-L\R: Airmotiv B1; SUB: Airmotiv S10. Should I replace the B1s and the center with these?
Micca is killing it, lately! Too bad their subs are weirdly awol 'cuz they'd complement their new speakers quite well.
So this one would be better for a central channel than the RB42 Center?
Congratulations, you just made me buy a pair of these. I hope that's a good thing..
Yup! I'm super happy with this purchase.
I have a Polkaudio rm80 center channel, the connection on the back has broke looking for a upgrade center channel or try to fix it. Running a fairy cheap Yamaha rx v375 receiver 5.1 and Polkaudio rm8 sat for side and rear the sub is a psw10.. recommendations thanks.. 🤔🤩
Would you run the 0o0 as a center though? I tried phantom center and can’t do it but am extremely space limited for space to put a center. Options are 0o0, rb42c or maybe a jbl 520c but I got rid of my Polk audio 5.25 center cause it was too big and sounded like junk. Rest of setup is rp600m as fronts homemade 1000w sundown sa-12 sub and rb42’s as rear surround.
So did u end up running the ooo as center? I'm also looking for a small center channel
@@helsonly722 Yes, paired with RP600M front surrounds an a single 12" sub in a room that's probably too big for all of them and the combo still works great for me with minimal center footprint which is what I was after.
So wish should I get a pair of the ooo or the r32c
oh my fckn god, chewbacca is so adorable
Anyone find out what mounts are required for these? I'd like to ceiling mount 4 of these atmos speakers. Using an all monitor audio silver rs6. Fx system 9.1 with denon avr-x4700h.
No! I bought the Monoprice 106839 adjustable 33 lb mounts. They look like the should fit, but their holes are 2.5" apart on center, Micca's are 2 13/16". Z said he would look and link some compatible mounts, but I guess he didn't.
Nothing I own sounds as good for their SIZE than my 50 years old, Sansui SP30s....when hooked up to my Nakamichi TA 3A. And I own almost as many speakers as Zeos.
I have a pair of vintage KOSS DYNAMITE.
These are very similar if not the same.
KOSS have no port tho...
How difficult would they be to drive? As hard as rb42s? Maybe I could buy the PA1 with these for a desk set up 🤔..
For a desktop not too bad since you are so close. I mean they are only 83dB/w efficient, but at only two feet away just 10watts will get you to over 100dB peaks for the pair, assuming 6dB of total room gain. I'd probably give them 25 watts or so to give yourself some headroom.
83db? Wow, that's getting really really inefficient.
brydon10 yeah no free lunch with small boxes!
Unless they're Klipsch. My R14M are 90db. They sound really good on a desk, and they're small. They don't have much low-end, but that's what my 8" sub is for under my desk (Pioneer SW8MK2)
What speaker cables are those?
Were they red? Custom made. Unless they are Micca Speaker Cables
I want to upgrade my 2 front speakers for my home theatre system. I’m currently using the micca mb42x as the front set but I want a reasonable upgrade (200$-300$). The uses will be exclusive to music and movies and my setup is in a small room. Anyone have any upgrades in mind?
Looking to run RB42's in a small (6x4) bedroom with the MX3, I know the AD18 has a bit more power but the MX3 is better looking, has a better headphone amp overall.
Might not be able to run it "full volume" but do you think it should be doable?
Jafar Uddin for low to moderate levels, it may be enough. Maybe the low freq will suffer a bit. I run my rb 42s with smsl sa98e and I am looking into a crown amp next...they do need the power.
As uncle Rick would say " your maths is off ".
nice Kriss and Aug you got there chief.
you know what, i'd build a studio-sized line-array out of those.
Some kid just did that with RB42's 16 of them
Please do some more BIC America products, you seem to have been pleased with the times you have checked em out.
I love watching you walk around you house and talk, lmao I’ve been doing it for months. wtf
I did a similar setup with dayton audio mk442 center speaker for my desktop a year ago. I like the sound I get for ~100 € (I am in europe). But guess what, I need to change the bass port because it is too small on certain occasions ... ;)
I’m looking for speakers to use on my computer desk. So far I’ve come across these and the MB42X and PB42X.
Looking for either a 2.0 or 2.1 system.

yes
You can have the same port diameter but different lengths (internally). I'm not saying they tried to keep costs down by using the same components here and there, but just because the port diameter is the same as another similar model doesn't mean that it's the same exact port. What's the length of the port _tube_ itself?k 😉
Actually, solder a small amp and a powerbank to it with a bt receiver. There you got a fantastic bt speaker
thats one rad kriss vector you got sitting on your wall
Infinity’s you’re either love the sound or hate them lol same with the 350z
Edit(talking about the car not the speakers lol)
350z is different exhaust, Infinity is amazing even stock, 350z is different. Infinity just sounds better overall. Not to mention the Infinity G35 was based on the Nissan Skyline R35 (newest GT-R is not a Skyline, doesn't have the name nor the VIN to say it is.)
I just really what to know if the 789 could power the rb42s some how I think it would be genius
This is why I love Z he’s so fucking genuine and love it
Anyone use just one as a center channel? How is it?
