Great review/discussion on TVS X. Most of the employees at TVS are also equally confused as you both were. The pricing of X has no rational or logic. However, this is my personal view of X. I think X is a sacrificial product of TVS. If you look at the Indian 2W industry, TVS is the only OEM that is doing extremely well in both scooters and bikes (less than 200 cc). However, if TVS has global ambitions and wants to create a product of premium price. I think they don't want to go the Maruti way where the Indian public is not ready to pay top bucks for Maruti, they would prefer other brands for Premium price. Hence, TVS is trying to condition the public or market that they are not just any mass 2W OEM; they are also a technology driven OEM. Thus, you see the kind of features you see in Apache RTR 310 and TVS X with slightly premium pricing. This is because eventually any 2W who has global ambitions has to come up with 500 or 750 cc & above vehicles and if you introduce them straight from 200 cc mass manufacturing platform; i think the market would reject it. I feel TVS X and Apache RTR 310 will pave the way for a 650 CC adventure or Naked bike of TVS with premium pricing and market acceptability of paying that top bucks for TVS as a brand. What do you both think?

And I assume instead of increasing prices significantly in the International markets like they do, TVS will keep the prices as close as it quotes in India.
One thing I learnt from this video is that do not get excited about something at the launch, sit down, think about it's purpose, think about it's up's & down's & only then come to a conclusion. I could visually tell that Shumi & Karthikeya were more happy talking about the River Indie compared to this vehicle which says a lot about the TVS X. I love everytime they say Bangalore, the immediately correct themselves to calling Bengaluru, which is why I love you guys. Love you from Bengaluru!❤❤

We’re working this out. FWIW, if you see our P150 content, it applies almost directly to the N150 because it’s the same bike with tiny changes and new skin.
That makes sense yeah, it seems they derived most of the existing hardware that was in the p150 single disc variant expect for the handlebars/ or the headlamp visor... surely, will wait for your content on this front, thanks team@@motorinc

I totally agree with this Regen issue, after riding iqube for a while I am used to regen , and now use it as a part of braking . But when the battery is full , and I want to break a little , i remove throttle and hope for regen to decrease my speed, but it doesn’t, and it takes a bit time to realise that regen won’t kick in
When I watched the unveil event live, I had the exact feeling as you guys are having. Massively underwhelemed, even though I couldn't point out anything wrong in particular in the scooter. I think, Ather has set a benchmark high enough at its pricepoint, that the X really looked too little for too much money. The only and a major positive takeaway from the X was its software, they have actually outdone both Ola and Ather in the software department, even though both those have years of experience and upgrades behind their software. I didn't expect this from a legacy auto. For those who think this is a moot point, no it's not. Indian 2 wheeler makers are at global standard when it comes to automotoive software now, comparable only to Tesla, Nio, Rivian etc. These are not some software that can run the multimedia unit, this is a new architecture(brought forward by Tesla first) where a central computing unit will control different peripheral units, which gives the capability to the software to change every aspect of the vehicle, from ride quality to safety to performance to ride profiles to sensory inputs etc etc. So, Kudos to TVS for nailing it in the first go, assuming they would deliver what they have promised. I wish Indian carmakers learn a thing or two from the 2-wheeler makers in the software department.
the problem with regen not kicking in between 90 and 100 is there even on OLA not sure if this suggestion of yours will reach OLA , request OLA to take notice of this suggestion.

Glad that we share the same thoughts about TVS and also share the concern/dislike with their focus towards gizmos, X and RTR 310 alike. The X was launched in UAE, which isn't a two-wheeler country, since that time it has dropped off my radar anyway. But as you said, a POC it is. I might be wrong but is TVS indicating that models launched outside India are "international" models, they don' have the Indian market as it its primary objective ? I hope the core engineering brilliance doesn't get sidelined for the sake of "cool".

We don’t really work towards a schedule George. We do release Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays at 0930. But it’s mostly because it’s convenient for us. There’s no specific agenda for any of these days really

I mean a person who is really looking to buy this will definitely see this but someone who is just interested in thoughts about the machine wants something more compact, please can you upload one more vide with your first rides which a little compact a cover all the goodies from the full episode?
My naughty nephew does change the modes while riding on the ola and it's sometimes troublesome. The seamless mode changing should at least make us get off the throttle before we can change the modes.
i would say if TVS is buidling a flagship EV at 2.25 lakh it will get compared to current flagship i.e. ather. in terms of range being 140 ARAI meaning 100 on road and max speed 105 doesnt have much difference from ather 450x . there has to be other selling point for TVS X if range and speed are same as ather . but as video mentioned this might not be india centric and has global audience and pricing in mind.
How competent rtr310 with the 400 or 300cc bikes .rtr is less powerful than 400cc and some 300 are more powerful than 310 and its vibrate a lot.I want to know what as a company they are doing when everyone is competing in sub 300 and at 400
Can I purchase this vehicle without buying a charger and charge with whatever I have or I need to purchase a changer from them. The reason for the question is , if I can only charge the vehicle with the proprietary charger then the on road cost has to reflect the price including the charger. It’s like selling a vehicle without a fuel hole and say I will charge you for a fuel hole and extra for a bigger hole fuel tank.

Cooling might something similar to what phone processors are doing. It's a evaporative cooling systems, with a chemical that evaporates at a certain temp to take the heat with it. No motor to move the liquid.
Connecting the additional lights to the imu is not very useful as majority of the time these are ridden in the city hooking it up with the steering would be much more helpfull as it will useful in the city it worked iffy on the xoom and I have feeling its the same on the x
The only reason I would buy this is to race it in the EV class of the Nashik Monsoon Scooter Rally... Hope this one is more dynamic offroad than the Ather in terms of power and stability for which i consider the Ather 450x as a benchmark...
As a consumer, f I am looking for an electric scooter which has lower cost of running, maintenance, is environment friendly and importantly fun to ride - why would I shell out 3.4L on this electric scooter, when the existing players can offer value for money options currently in the market?
if this was to be a halo product i think tvs should have gone further with the performance. or maybe built a electric motorcycle that would compete with the f77. the x dosent really give a comepling reason for anyone to buy it
We do think electric scooters are better than electric motorcycles for the moment as complete products... and yes, we do agree that TVS could have pushed performance further for sure
Is it a bad thing that I have stopped watching all other reviews of products from other places? I was so used to camera moving to different angles and showing things which would make me exited about buying the product but now I watch these two talking in 2x and can decide wheather I want this product or not.

This product is a part of TVS joint Venture with BMW. I don't think TVS can solely on their own develop such product this early

Connecting the additional lights to the imu is not very useful as majority of the time these are ridden in the city hooking it up with the steering would be much more helpfull as it will useful in the city it worked iffy on the xoom and I have feeling its the same on the x
We shall test this thoroughly and let you know if how those lights performed in the city.
If I want a fast enough scooter we have NTorq from TVS it self and then we have Ather 450X. Why would I want to spend 3L for the TVS X?
The only reason I would buy this is to race it in the EV class of the Nashik Monsoon Scooter Rally...
Hope this one is more dynamic offroad than the Ather in terms of power and stability for which i consider the Ather 450x as a benchmark...
As a consumer, f I am looking for an electric scooter which has lower cost of running, maintenance, is environment friendly and importantly fun to ride - why would I shell out 3.4L on this electric scooter, when the existing players can offer value for money options currently in the market?
if this was to be a halo product i think tvs should have gone further with the performance. or maybe built a electric motorcycle that would compete with the f77. the x dosent really give a comepling reason for anyone to buy it
We do think electric scooters are better than electric motorcycles for the moment as complete products... and yes, we do agree that TVS could have pushed performance further for sure

Is it a bad thing that I have stopped watching all other reviews of products from other places? I was so used to camera moving to different angles and showing things which would make me exited about buying the product but now I watch these two talking in 2x and can decide wheather I want this product or not.
