- The ensuing Russia-Ukraine Crisis is humanitarian violation and tragedy, which has shed the light on potential economic and societal disastrous effect for the entire world.
On this video, we discuss the economics of war. We see how economic indicators like GDP and employment can improve during war-time in the short-term. We also discuss how rise in inflation, national debt and the humanitarian costs of war can have disastrous long-term effects on the countries at war and the entire world.

Thought provoking! Economies improve but human indexes downgrades. Shouldn't someone create thesis on this soon?
Don't agree with you on Ukraine though. Indian government has rightly abstained. Russia should have same rights as US to remove their problems. Nor has Europeans or Ukrainians backed off there dreamed Nato treaty build up and this makes both sides are aggressive. Yes normal Ukrainian are at loss but they are with their government this aggressive too. Hope sense prevails and egos tossed aside people will come to normal life sense and war stops.

I don't quite agree with you about the solidarity with Ukraine part.
NATO promised not to expand in the 90s but have been busy enrolling about 20 former Soviet bloc countries into their fold. Ukraine, Belarus, Finland are countries with adjacent boundaries to Russia.
Russia simply cannot allow NATO to put missiles and radar+imaging system next to its borders. They need a buffer state. America would not allow Soviet missiles in Cuba during the Bay of Pigs crisis.
The US and Nato promised a lot tp Ukraine and Ukraine got taken in by NATO promises plus ignored Putin's warnings repeatedly not taking Putin seriously. So Putin did what he had to do to secure Russia and today NATO is not doing anything for Ukraine.... So Ukraine Government is to be blamed for gambling and messing up Ukraine's future.

The boost to economy is overshadowed by destruction of means of production in countries which become warzones.
US economic base was untouched. The true impact was on Europe, which was reduced to rubble and needed Marshall plan aid
