- Israel's offensive in Rafah has put relations with its neighbor Egypt under severe strain. Egypt has for decades cooperated on security arrangements along its border with Gaza - but Cairo suspended that cooperation when Israeli troops took over the Gazan side of the Rafah border crossing.

It's interesting why Egypt built such a high wall in Rafah after October 7.

Hiring the former Media coordinator at the Consulate of Israel in New York is really unbiased….

So unbiased you are anti semetic if you comment on it.

good one! thanks for pointing that out!
When I heard her say "K-hamas" I knew I could ignore every other word out of her mouth.
Her accent gave her away, the way she pronounced Hamas and Gaza exposed her.
And she spoke the IDF talking point that Rafah is the last Hamas stronghold. Meanwhile fighting has flared up in the rubble of North Gaza. The genocide is going perfectly to plan

Israeli president said in the beginning that there's no uninvolved civilians in Gaza
Israel finance minister said that returning the hostages is not a priority
It was never about the hostages it's just meaningless revenge
Stop crying in the media. You wanted this war and you got it. Stop being cowards and crybabies.
Of course the hostages aren't a priority. There are maybe a few tens of hostages left alive in Gaza. I'm sure some people in their government said it was about hostages just because that's what their people want to hear. The reality is that it's about disabling Hamas to prevent an attack like that in the future. That's the only thing that really matters.
The fact is if Hamas released hostages, the IDF kills them anyways
@@Bob-ly4dy It's about destroying Gaza and making it impossible for Palestinians to ever return and stealing the land to develop for Israeli settlers.
It's expanding Israel to the sea. Like the US expanded to the pacific. Israel is in a manifest destiny stage. Also why the US is building a port there, not for aid, but a shipping lane for future export import business. Nation building.

The lady analyst doesn't know what she is talking about. She has no understanding of how smuggling works and also seems unaware that the manufacture of weapons occurs inside Gaza. The only issue is gaining enough high explosives for the bombs either by smuggling in the precursors or high explosive itself and enough precursors for low explosives or gun powder for rockets , mortars and bullets. Reason you can't smuggle low explosives in is they are to unstable and packing them safely would stand out too much. The only way major smugglers of drugs for example get caught is by following the money and Israel is incapable of doing that in the case of Gaza. Also we are talking about relatively small sums of money.
It as if the Palestinians aren’t supposed to have the own defence weapons. Why do we call it smuggling when they purchase weapons but we don’t call it that for Israel? That is hypocrisy.

@bobbenjy6426 There are many master and journeyman level gunsmiths in Gaza. She's either ignorant or mendacious.
Israel has had sky surveillance on every inch of Gaza Strip for decades, it's been something Gazans have openly complained about for decades. They definitely know that that's exactly what happened man.
@@dooley8746 There seem to be very few people out there who realize that there are many excellent gunsmiths and not a few weapons designers in Gaza. The Israeli government absolutely knows this, but consistently refrains from mentioning this fact.
That important bit of info doesn't give Israel the excuse it needs to fire missiles and drop bombs on over a million civilians in Rafah. The fairy tale about weapons smuggling *does,* as well as placing Egypt diplomatically on the defensive. It also allows them to invoke Iran in a way that keeps Palestinians from looking competent and resourceful. Otherwise they'd mention the smuggling of raw materials and tools in the past, which IS the truth.

Egypt sword rattling is hollow. Their a welfare state with lackluster military 🪖 barely able to sustain its own economy.
Is she really comparing the revenue the egypt generates from the suez canal to what she claims egypt is making from Rafah crossing? Rafah crossing is mostly for individuals while suez canal is for massive ships.
The Rafag crossing brings in ungodly prices by the agents who control transport buses for entrance by Palestinians who pay thru the nose, especially during a war.

After the war Palestineans need to rebuild Gaza and Rafah they should have enough aid from neibouring countries
Was there security? How did all those weapons get into Gaza.
Both, Egypt and Israel, have closed their eyes for many years! Egypt in order to "help" Palestinians, Israel to foster Hamas in order to weaken Palestinian Authority and to can blame afterwards whole of Palestinians for their "militancy". The whole issue is full of hypocrysy!
The weapons are manufactured by Palestinians in Gaza. There are *many* master and journeyman level gunsmiths there, as well as some talented weapons designers. It's a genuine industry.
The Israeli government seems very reluctant to mention this important fact, despite knowing about it. That fact doesn't give them the excuse they need to shoot missiles at and drop bombs on a million civilians, but their new Rafah fairy tale does. It also puts Egypt diplomatically on the back foot and gives an excuse as to why Israel has YET AGAIN violated another sovereign nation's territory.
It also allows them to invoke the bogeyman Iran, but in a way that doesn't make Palestinians look resourceful, competent, and talented. The smuggling of raw materials, tools, and machines IS the actual truth.
