I think it’s because it’s soo common for people to say “I hate the dentist” everyone despises seeing them no one’s excited for a dentist appointment. They feel that. And you’re causing people pain not on purpose but physical and monetary pain.
Dude, every job is a "problem solving job." He didn't say anything useful.
The difference is that a dentist is its own boss. When you work on a patient you can’t get up and ask for help you have to make your own judgement
No paid time off, commission based job
The mercury in silver amalgam makes me go crazy.
Long term constant exposure to a neurotoxin tends to make go medically insane.😅😅😅
I think this may be the main driver since mercury is a neurotoxin. Dentists are exposed to the mercury while it is emitting gasses, and they are handling it without protection, so they breathe it in. The patient is absorbing it too, but the dentist absorbs it regularly. i bet that in school the concerns were minimized. That filling material was sourced cheaply, and who knows what politics may have been involved. Those that use mercury filling material are in the minority, 25% may still be using mercury.
.
Mercury is no longer used as a the go to filling for the vast majority of dentists in the U.S. Composite material is preferred instead and taught in dental schools.
@@monemonet1628 What a change over the last 25 years! I would say that 40 years ago when I had all my mercury fillings removed over 90% of dentists were still only using mercury filling material.
Amalgam will be no longer used in the EU starting from 2025
Just wondering in general how long would it take a dentist to clear his student loans leading him up being a dentist?
Probably because, sadly, most hate going to the dentist and vocalise that. I like going, so I’m weird, but most really don’t. Hearing that day in and day out would burn the soul.
That’s a false stat. The suicide rate for dentists is around 22-30 per 100,000
Yeah. That was insane. That would be almost 1 out of 10 dentist killing themselves, which is obviously absurd.
I was looking for an answer to why dentistry is so expensive and i ended up here
Same!
It is expensive because the materials are expensive, dental school is the most expensive professional schooling, specialized procedures demand specialized fees, there is a high overhead of about 40-50% with staff and other various costs.
@@NEDMD but still don't make any sense why just a small thing like a single veneer cost bw 1000-2500$
The average overhead of a dental office is 65%. If your dentist gave you 35% off, they are working for free. You’d still complain about price. Anymore than 35% and they are paying to work on you. The issue is the way dental insurance is in America. Dental insurance should be included in medical insurance
Nobody has gave a clear answer to this question.... As if nobody else has to work hard or lead a team or solve problems .... Somebody give a real answer here...
For real. That’s a LOT of jobs
Facts, he basically doesnt know.
its mercury. Case closed.
Honestly I think they commit suicide because of all the torture they caused people because poor family’s can’t afford to get their teeth fixed and they are like you can’t afford $80,000 to get your teeth fixed… good bye
i think it's all the toxic elements they're being exposed to.
Mercury vapors
Agreed
True
💔💔💔💔😭😢☹️🙏
He did a TERRIBLE job of explaining. I could go on and on about the reasons for stress in my profession. But “problem solving” wouldn’t be on my list. I LOVE to solve problems!
8 percent?? one out of every 10-11 dentists kill themselves? LOL no
