the trumpet player deserves more recognition!!
A Kiss maybe
@@jodecics We ALL should take turns kissing them
He's very composed , the way he smoothly attack the notes is incredible, excellent player indeed!
On a cool night back in September I had the pleasure of hearing that trumpet play during this very same song. Eventually when I’m old and gray, I’ll still be able to hear it.
People cheered when he started playing. What other kinda recognition were you thinking? Perhaps a hospital wing in his name?
Smashing the guitarist instead of the guitar this time
Luckiest dude in the room.
God she's so pretentious
Smashing the guitar on SNL was the weakest shit. Bitch ain't all that.
@@Marshall_Stacks jealous much
@@Marshall_Stacks flop
how does it feel to live my dream harrison
i second this
Who is Harrison
Ok nevermind
@@rushishah1995 she made out with him
He tweeted about it, felt pretty damn good apparently
This has motivated me to get really good at guitar so I can play lead in her band…
i rate this
lmao right?
my thoughts exactly
You don't have to know how to play guitar to be in this band.
Just like harrison
Her voice sounds so different than her singing voice and it’s so amazing
Was thinking the same thing!
Me, as well.
why does she sing with an English accent? Guess its too late to change it now..
I noticed too, sounds like she's singing to the pre recorded track.
@@mmail4700 no lol it's just her singing voice
"Either way, we're not alone. I'll find a new place to be from."
Puts a lump in my throat. Anyone else?
What's it mean?
@@matthewkeegan272 It's hard to say, exactly - it's poetic, a sensation, an impression - but I'd say it's about trauma and upheaval being an opportunity to reinvent yourself.
The song begins with a longing for home, for quiet and peace, but also a sense of restless energy. This builds throughout the song, with imagery of leaving home behind to chase the storm.
In the final verse, they've got as close as they can, and there's a sense that they don't know what it means, but they know everything has changed. They can't go home again - the storm has wiped home off the map, and the end has come. Wherever they go now, that will be home - the beginning of their new story.
singing man i hate this part of texas in texas is phoebes biggest flex
this is going down in history the fit, the guitar, phoebe. i know the end is probably my favorite phoebe song of all time and this is my favorite performance of it
this is a song that i’ll never get tired of
@@sharpenflat6002 that sucks
same - saw her two nights ago and they played the bridge twice because they thought someone fell in the crowd. no problem here, easily best part of the song
I was at this taping, and the way Phoebe was interacting with the audience and cracking jokes between songs was amazing. I love this woman so much.
Guys the amazing trumpet player’s name is J. J. Kirkpatrick!! He toured with her :D She mentioned him on tour and I wrote it down because he was incredibleleellele
Thank you for this comment
incredibleleellele yes!
possibly the best version of this song!!! Just love everything about it
IDK... the tiny desk version is stellarrr
the SNL version was amazing too
My favourite version is the one in Seth Meyer's Late Night.
they’re all amazing.
@@MARKUSMULDER why?
Is it just me or is phoebes voice evolving? I love it!
Totally
Phoebe’s top energy is fucking unparalleled, my god.
The harmonies really make a huge difference.
Lol that makeout sesh with Harrison. I have so many questions
I really can imagine myself being her lead guitarist now.
My dad is from Germany, but his mom and dad were both from Mexico. He grew up in Texas, so did I. That first verse kicks me in the nuts every time.
I always wondered what she meant with that quip about Texas and I'm glad she explained it. Not what I'd thought it was about.
sorry if this is a dumb question but i'm genuinely curious how your dad is from germany if both his parents were from mexico and he grew up in texas? i just saw your comment and it intrigued me, just genuinely curious lol
@lou-xr5rz his parents grew up in Mexico. They moved to Germany in the 40s, and he was born there and spent a few years there before moving to Beaumont, TX where he grew up. No worries! Don't mind telling the story lol
@@obsceneorchestra ohhh i understand now haha. thanks for sharing ☺
@@lou-xr5rz absolutely!
I Know the End is an anthem for our times.
For a moment there was getting the sort of orchestral vibe I got from Sufjan Stevens' performance on Austin City Limits. Then suddenly the ending took off in a completely different direction.
the guy she worked with on the copycat killer EP also worked with sufjan stevens and she takes a lot of inspo from sufjan's work!
I badly wanted to be Phoebe's guitarist.
😭😭😭😭😭 frrrr
My god, that kiss was so awkward. I like it
I wanna go to a phoebe concert just so i can scream to this song lol
I guess I’m just watching this every day until I see them in-person. Also, every band member becomes more intriguing each watch. They are all harmonizing and jamming so well, damn.
Exactly!.So why isnt it a band? Instead of Phoebe? Very offputting
Man, I love this song. She's so great
Just saw the whole performance on PBS, twice. This song and performance blew me away, a real masterpiece. This incredible song, the creativity, the sound, the energy of everyone on stage, this is one of the most amazing performances / works of art I've seen in a while.
This song still punches me hard.
Absolutely in love with Phoebe's voice. Her melancholy is superb and lovely on the ears.
Saw this twice this year's tour and felt like I was there again ❤️❤️❤️
IN LOVE WITH THIS VERSION
Phoebe singing: an angel - Phoebe talking: 40 years old dude. I love her so much!

Phoebe❤️
seeing phoebe snd the band at gov ball was unforgettable experience. she took us to another realm with I know the end. i felt like i rode the space ship was probed and the sadly dropped off back to earth reality. i love her and the band so much she creates theses spaces within songs that so many people want to live in its so magical.
What a night Harrison
the end is beginning with the thrumpet i'm cryin
can't wait for the end to finally get here
how is the audience not screaming along to the song
They probably were screaming but the mics often focus in the artist that way you can’t hear the crowd
Since it's a taping for a television show, I expect that the audience has been instructed not to do that.
i prefer hearing her voice instead of the crowd
The MONENT I saw that guitarist, my first thought was "haha that's Phoebe's type". I did not expect that ending though. Amazing.
Damn she’s a unique breed of BEAUTY 😍🥵
she kicked the mic stand!! i love her sm
man was hella happy rehearsing this performance 6:01
she’s the coolest woman to ever live HOLY SHIT
i love this performance so much
Well, I really wasn’t expecting that :-)

She's the reason I own a Dano baritone.
Did you get one with the dolphin headstock…in black sparkle?
A danowhatnow?

Actually it is my favorites track.

I’ll play this with you on July 19th, 2023 in Milwaukee!
