The reason I like this show so much, and have followed them for the last 7 - 8 years, is because its just two good mates sitting around, cracking jokes and having a good time. And love seeing your other mates like turbo yoda or tuning fork show up every once in a while! I know You guys won't see this comment but thank you for the wholesome content, really... Love the consistency and love the energy!
Same man, these two are just the best dynamic duo on UA-cam. The energy a chemistry is just the best, makes for an amazing channel. Not only that the other characters of the "MCMCU" have grown with their own content too! Skid factory is pretty legit too with turbo Yoda
Seeing Scotty in the Hijet shows how small the cab seems. I have a Jumbo Cab with a high roof and at 6'3" have no problems. Even Scotty would be less squashed in it.
Watching big Scotty driving the little k truck revving it up and hearing the turbo with the background not really accelerating was hilariously joyful. My face hurts from smiling watching this. Great work guys.
I miss my supergramps, some jealous dink smashed it up an they are stupid expensive now if and that's a big if you can find one here. I settled for a t5 v50 but it's still not the same tho the lil Volvo is a weapon in its own rites.

The first time that skid plate touches a rock those standoffs will fold over. You need to weld up a "bash bar" that goes in the front (under the flimsy sheet metal) and mount the skid plate to that.
Took my homebuilt 1963/1964/1972 4x4 Dodge Town Wagon/Power Wagon down Cutler Creek in the Big Horn Mountains west of Sheridan, Wyoming in December...rescue mission. 1957 Dodge 4x4 D200 pickup that had been crashed against a boulder and shattered the drivers side front frame. Completely dislodged front axle. Used tire chains and log boomers to pull the frame into a reasonable representation of the frame. Towed the pickup from the Tongue River up to US14 to Sand Turn. There we unhooked the tow and I moved the Power Wagon to the front of the pickup to act as the pickup brakes...because the brake line was torn in two. NO Brakes. December in the Big Horns means 16" to 2 feet of snow on the Cutler Creek gravel two-track...took two of us five hours start to finish. Wild ride down US14 to my house on Wolf Creek Road. Great fun.
Love this series ! One thing I have noticed is the Intercooler might need a shroud to protect it from debris and possible scraping it against something.
Sorry Moog, have to disagree with you. I've absolutely loved Marty's nuggets and choice in cars! Sure some of them may be shitboxes (such as the blue turd!) but he's given them heaps of character and they've always had purpose! Marty, keep rocking those maaaaad car choices! Also not saying Moog has poor taste in cars, just for some reason I've always liked Marty's choices better.
Would love to see something with the skid factory chaps. Since they also do some off road stuff too, would be fun to see everyone hanging out in the bushes.
Thank you guys soo much for this Kei truck series because of you I have now bought my own little Kei truck which I drive around Western Sydney!! hopefully one day we can catch up and check out out builds! All hats to Blair and Martin love you guys 🤙
I, too, am completely off-road all day every day. My bicycle may not have mud tires, yet, but I get muddy every time I ride it. I’m definitely making turbo noises, huffing and puffing all the way. I probably need an ECU tuneup just as badly as your truck. So glad to have found the best off-road-only channel on youtube.
I'm like 99% sure Marty and this lil nugget are the reason I'm looking at a Subaru Sambar Kei Van. One just popped up on a site, and I'm working up the courage to deal with the import process!
Before you try and JDM anything- check out what's happening with the current delays as all the workshops licensed to comply imports have run out of their government allowance of 100 cars to plate (mine came off the ship months back and still waiting in a shed!) Cars now being left in Japan as there's nowhere to store them for the unknown period to get them approved. Might be better in other states but NSW is no go thanks to Fed Gov incompetence on changing regulations re imports....
I'm glad to see you guys kept the off road vehicles.. There's nothing like getting into the back country and relaxing in nature. They may not have a lot of power but they are inexpensive to run and get the job done.
Those dose noises just make me smile like a little kid!!!! That's what a modified car is supposed to give you, feelings not just a way to get from A to B!
You could easily drop a hundred kilos of the truck, by getting an aluminium rear tray. Cheapest way to add power, is by adding lightness. Also looking forward to the up coming episode, branch VS intercooler .
The only thing UA-cam recommendations did right was recommend me the MCM Honda Civic build. I've shown it to my gf and - although not a car person - still enjoyed it very much. 5 years later, I'm still watching you guys, and sending her clips. The only channel I've ever bought merch from, and the proud owner of Cheryl's box.
Mighty Truck Mods is "the best four wheel drive show in the universe (sic)" 107% without a doubt, other 4x4 and truck shows are just a bore and a fancy Hollywood set whereas MTM is for more entertaining at the very least. They remind me of my father's 1997 GMC Sierra when it wasn't rotted through or couldn't get into gear, it was summit white with a copper two-tone equipped with a Z71 off-road package and I loved that truck more than I loved him. Never got to drive it around town though, he sold it to a lead technician at the local GM dealer who fixed it to original condition and drove it every day which made me a little more happier cause the tech was a nice guy who didn't mod Pavement Princesses.
I Really love how far you guys have come from doing up nuggets on youtube to playing with cars you wished you had back in the day to actually having them in your hands now and modding them with the resources that you guys have now from sponsors and love from us viewers!! Love your journey and the help you guys have done for us first time modders
HI Moog and Marty, I have been following your content for a couple of years now. I can say without a doubt that MCM is one of the best car project channels on the internet. Maybe not the best with 4X4 cars because that goes out to your fellow Australian brothers from 4wd 24/7. Maybe a future collaboration with 4wd 24/7 and your Kei truck and Jimny. I'm originally from Suriname (South Amrika) and now living in the Netherlands. Having followed MCM, 4wd 24/7, The Skid factory, Street MAchine,....I can conclude that they represent Australia very well. These channels have showed me (and maybe the rest of teh world) the indusrtial innovations Australia has to offer. Good luck on your future projects and keep your group dynamiac going.
Seeing Scotty crammed in that cabin all I can think of is that scene in the Simpsons where Nelson laughs at the little car and than the heaps tall guy gets out to say "this is the biggest automobile I could afford" before dacking him.
I've never been to Australia, but y'all give the place a great name! Seeing your love and passion for things on wheels and the people that enjoy them is pure goodness.
Y'all are the guys we want to go on an adventure with. People fantasize about a sleeper like Supergramps or Miss Daisy, they lust for th3 240, the 2Sexy redemption was practically a religious experience. But at the end of the day, you're the friends we had in High School we would give anything to have 1 more hour with.
I live in VERMONT USA lots of trails lots of mud, brooks, ledge etc. That little truck would be a ball to have here. You asked us the viewers to mention what WE drive or have driven, well I had a 1972 3/4 ton Dodge Power Wagon 360 automatic 36 series mud tires stock suspension that truck worked perfect doing exactly what YOU 2 did in your camping video. Two different vehicles Yours and mine but both FUN AS HELL
I was surprised to hear Moog use "Marty" as I am so used to him using "Martin". I think he might have even said in a video at one point that he always used Martin but I could be mis-remembering 🙂
At first I thought that converting the Kei truck for off-roading was a bad idea, by after seeing it with jacked up suspension and muddies, I'm liking it more than before. Hope it comes back from the bush without another truck underneath it - lol!
I bought my water to air intercooler setup from Christian for my soarer, real nice guy and super helpful, didnt' realise he was such a good fabricator as well :)
"Yeah, while Marty was scraping his way through the mud box, a couple of scars were later exhibited on his undercarriage and therefore some protection is required." 🤣
Marty, have you considered one of those pop up tents that usually mounts on a roof rack (or ontop of a ute tub) ? *Maybe too much extra weight when a swag will do
They weigh roughly 50-60kgs with a simple tub rack setup, I didn’t even notice the difference with my ute but you’d probably notice it with only 50kw 😂
I must be a Kei truck nerd coz as soon as the shirt popped up on the Hijet FB page I bought one! It would be cool to have a Kei Truck meetup somewhere and get all the Li'l Trucks together. Like a nationals!
Marty's mods do it for me, his uncontrolled happiness shines through every time & the Kei's multi-purpose which totally caps it off. I'm not slam's Moog's, his are amazing too & I'm sure he's pumped with his cars, it's just that his personalty is more laidback & isn't as expressive. Love you guys & all your cool mates, because that brings it all together. Enough talk, I'm head'n out to do some vegan donuts on my neighbour's front lawn in my FWD.
I once tried to take a 90°-ish curve 58 miles an hour over the "suggested" limit. I got the 84 Chevy Citation II halfway around it be before I realised that was the same as not turning. I went completely straight off the road and jumped an embankment, flew 10 yards and got wedged between two massive oak trees 6 yards above the ground. That's the wildest and most expensive off-road trip I have taken.
I'm sure there is all kinds of jokes around the trucks and off roading but damn would it be awesome to see you guys do a video with #4WD 24-7. It would be way better then the roadkill episode. I love watching both your channels and hope you guys consider it.
I fell in love with kei trucks this year. Ive seen a honda one and then lazer the daihatsu hijet. Then i saw your Video of u guys on your adventure and watched the video like 3 times. That was a perfect video. Humor, nature, camping and two awesome cars. What else do you need for a perfect video? I fricking love the kei truck. Its kinda my dream car but its really hard to get one here in germany. But i promise you guys! At some point in my live im going to drive one! Keep on going! Love your videos
Love the K truck. I have a 2012 Nissan Frontier 2wd 4cyl auto with a topper that lifts up for camping. I traveled for 2 weeks and camped from California to Colorado to visit my son and his family. I have only done a little bit of off road driving, so far.
you guys actually are a better 4x4 youtube channel than most. you're certainly the best "car guys doing a 4x4 series" channel by a wide margin. and i hope these videos are doing well for you. you are confident in what you do know, and respectful of what you don't know. and that is so much better than being cocky and acting like you know it all and then using editing to hide your mistakes. and the subtle way you make fun of other content that does that is always great. you guys have made some noob mistakes in your builds, but they're not necessarily failures. just things you'll learn. i'm looking forward to the bush episode to see how the intercooler holds up being exposed on the Kei truck, and whether moog disconnects his sway bars or not; which i didn't realize until the motor swap debacle, that it has a solid front axle. hopefully it's another feature length film.
I built my 4.8L S10 ZR2 9" loft on 33s on ONLY MCM tutorials, it's kind if a Kei truck...ish, but couldn't have done it without you guys, I was also only able to compete in KOH 2018 because I picked up on all your mad driving tech and tip segments...Thank You MCM . Can't wait for the new vid..full length possibly???
I have been watching MCM for 14 years now Marty showed me how to do a stereo install 14 years ago although I was driving a honda it helped and it recently bought a mystery box and getting the big box soon
Mint 😎 But Marty, all I ever want to do is media-blast and re-coat the bed sides and tailgate into factory white. Wrinkly black is for rocker covers and crap window tint jobs 😆
This thing has the same base horsepower as my CJ-2B’s F-Head conversion, in theory. I can only go the same speed top speed, because it came with an aftermarket overdrive unit on the back of the T-case. 90km/hr in what is essentially a WW2 Jeep is scary fun, even with a brand new suspension & steering professionally aligned.
I have never seen one of those Kei trucks in Utah, I did see a few in Colombia, and thought they just look fun to drive around in. I also saw one of those little Suzuki cars and I swear it had 8 inch wheels on it, also looked fun. Your Kei would fit in the back of my Toyota but that isn't the point. It just looks fun. I really like it with those nice street tires. I think you guys did some awesome stuff to it and I hope you have a lot of fun with it because that is the point. Just enjoy!

This is the only 4WD drive channel on UA-cam that I'm still subscribed to. I think that says a lot.
I love this show, you stay true to your show, and dont follow the masses. You have my respect gentleman
The power explanation on screen was awesome
So many off-roads, much 4x4s. Wish I had a tuner friend
Love the K truck. I have a 2012 Nissan Frontier 2wd 4cyl auto with a topper that lifts up for camping. I traveled for 2 weeks and camped from California to Colorado to visit my son and his family. I have only done a little bit of off road driving, so far.
1997 jeep wrangler TJ. I love this 4wd channel ! ! !
best believe this is the Best 4-wheel drive channel out there,,,
you guys actually are a better 4x4 youtube channel than most. you're certainly the best "car guys doing a 4x4 series" channel by a wide margin. and i hope these videos are doing well for you.
you are confident in what you do know, and respectful of what you don't know. and that is so much better than being cocky and acting like you know it all and then using editing to hide your mistakes. and the subtle way you make fun of other content that does that is always great.
you guys have made some noob mistakes in your builds, but they're not necessarily failures. just things you'll learn. i'm looking forward to the bush episode to see how the intercooler holds up being exposed on the Kei truck, and whether moog disconnects his sway bars or not; which i didn't realize until the motor swap debacle, that it has a solid front axle.
hopefully it's another feature length film.
This can't stop. Keep the mods coming. I love the greatest 4x4 channel
I love the little truck. It's kitted out in about every way now.
Supergramps has my heart.. i own a 3rd gen that ive lowered and it gets all the looks
You did some really sensible mods on this one, really nicely done.
Mint 😎 But Marty, all I ever want to do is media-blast and re-coat the bed sides and tailgate into factory white. Wrinkly black is for rocker covers and crap window tint jobs 😆
its really the only off road channel I'm interested in watching right now XD
This thing has the same base horsepower as my CJ-2B’s F-Head conversion, in theory.
I can only go the same speed top speed, because it came with an aftermarket overdrive unit on the back of the T-case. 90km/hr in what is essentially a WW2 Jeep is scary fun, even with a brand new suspension & steering professionally aligned.
The kilowatt conversion and Dutch oven gold!
An awning on the tray head board would turn the tray into an awesome campsite! rad little truck!
Just enjoy!
Big numbers incoming
