excellent video mate. I was looking for exactly this instructions since I only need to do one latch mortise and don't want to have to pay a lot for a guide/jig if I only use it once.

Nice video. Thank you 👍🏻
I would pilot every hole, i did it to a good standard but I didn’t pilot and the holes were a bit loose on the handle and the door got a slight crack where the mortise lock was on the side, I was only 20 when I did it but now I know for the next one I need to do.
Love the channel
Nice
Always put some tape on drill but as to know the depth of drilling
I will try this
Good video
A bit of a tip, if this is for an external door it should be a BS lock, if not you are probably not insured
Very true , thankyou
only question why not put it in a vice for safety
Goog video
Is there a right and left lock?
In some lower quality locks yeah but most are changeable
Thanks....goodbye lock fixers.....i can do it alone 😅😅
Router is much precise & easier tool
Utility knife
maybe it is better you sharpen your chisels. it is a pain to watch how you break the wood instead of cutting it. it looks like someone scraped it out with a spoon and punched the holes in with a screwdriver. please have a little more respect for the wood and the work, because the result of the woodworking doesn't have to look so terribly careless.
sorry i’m not to sure if you are watching the correct video because i don’t think this looks so bad as your making out 😅
@@ttdowgcarpentry2390 because you covered your woodworking doesn't make it better
@@carcharodoncarcharias1321 lol the whole point is to break that piece of wood. Whether you are using a chisel or digging it out with a butter knife it makes no difference. Do you check the frame and inner woodworkings of all furniture that you buy (Sofas, beds, headboards etc)? Stop being a douche for the sake of being a douche.
wheres your video smartass , this took a lot of time and effort give the guy a break .
@@carcharodoncarcharias1321 Everything in this video is done correctly, no need to doubt the quality.
Quality is spot on 10/10
