🤣oh plz don't pick on him,at least he makes it look easy! You should see the mess the bloke fixing my door (as I type) is making! I'm lucky he brought his drilling machine...👍 from India 🇮🇳
Yes because even a panel door has a block of wood inside for the lock to be drilled into as well as a 2x2 batten inside on length. Try Studhawk How to videos
1st if u have to use a hammer or mallet to get the lock into place its too tight. 2nd u dont have to drill from both sides, just drill from 1 till u just peirce the other side with th tip then use that as a reference to match up on the other side. 3rd use a 19mm for the mortice body not 16mm a 22mm for the handle bar hole and a 25mm for lock key hole, the handles body will cover everything up anyway wen u install it
Try the new Studhawk How to Fit a Mortice Lock by Studhawk - don't mark around your lock with a pencil - mark around your lock with a marking knife as a knife mark is more accurate than a pencil line. Nice job though Woodie Ta ma ga hanowa
I just watched your video in your echo chamber, so the only thing that you might have done better is using a marking knife for 5 seconds in the entire job, the rest was infinitely more complicated and more work than what the chap in this Woodies video did.
Thank you for a very informative and well explained video, some great new tips
Sam
You make it look so easy!!!
Christ that strike plate was a bit rough
A bit??!!! 😂
@@Robcatist😂
It matches the lock but 👍🏻
great explanation and very helpful. Most of all I love the Irish accent!
Very well explained. Thanks
3:50 "And that's how you don't install the top screw of the striker plate..."
I agree..that's bloody terrible work
WOW. Can't believe they shown that
you were trying to find a bone in a egg :)
Jesus wept on a mountain... I've seen trees gnawed down neater by a pack of beavers.

3:50 What happened with that top screw? It was looking OK up until that point.
ForViewingOnly you should see my house... just replacing the locks and handles on a few doors and every screw is at an angle! not fun
Doesn’t know the trick about plugging the old hole with a match / kebab skewer etc. 😜
Very clearly explained, thanks!
Very helpful thanks.
Use Forstner not Auger bits, you get a much neater, flat bottomed hole.
The drill bit drifted a little and there are other details to consider. studhawk.com How to Fit a Mortice Lock
Good video, but does it work?
Of course it does - you saw the handle moving nicely and the door close well. If confused try studhawk.com for How To
thanks for the video.. will this work on a hollow panel door?
me me again yes it will but panel doors split easier than the door he was working on so take it handy
yes recommend the door 44mm thick and get a 5 lever mortise lock
As above the door must be 44mm thick or whats the point?
