When I was in the Navy I'd go up on deck, and no matter where you looked there was only water in all direction, made you realize how small you are. Very humbling!
After watching you two for years I get happiness seeing all the hard work you have done making all the improvements you have done making your sailing more enjoyable for yourselves - ❤ you both
We are getting the squalls of Helene. Supposely hitting the big bend area Friday early morning. There's a bunch of storms in Gutemala be careful . Helene is supposed to be a Cat 4 when it hits landfall .
Sale the gopher California several years ago and the luminescence she’s talking about is incredible. I had dolphins swimming toward the boat and they look like torpedoes.
Beau & Brandy, you can understand how peaceful and calming the sea can be during this presentation, just heaven on earth. And, your narration was equally tranquil, THANK YOU. The sail was absolutely beautiful - how wonderful of you to bring us along‼️ Stay safe and enjoy. Time is drawing near, remember to VOTE‼️ 💙🇺🇸💚👍😇
Always a treat to keep up. Maybe you’ll get to use that long lens in Guatemala I thought about you when hurricane Helene came through. Y’all went right through that western Cuba pass. We totally dodged a bullet on that one because of the cold front. But now another one is about to enter the gulf. Will it ever end this year? Say a prayer for us on the coast of Louisiana
Made that crossing in 2001. Was a beautiful sail but went to isla mujeres first then gunk holed the coast to the rio Dulce over a 6 week period. Remember seeing a football field sized area of bright green luminescence that turned out to be a large school of mahi mahi running the surface, under a full moon. Suddenly dolphins showed up and exploded the school, jumping and slamming the water to stun fish. Water flying in the air looking like diamonds in the moonlight. There are no words or pictures that can ever convey what the sea can do for the soul.
Literally got goosebumps reading this!! I can only imagine how beautiful and serene that experience was!! ALL of my favorite things wrapped into one!! WOW!
@@BeauAndBrandy Thank you! Spent a lot of time in that area in a 33 foot cutter rigged sloop. 1963 Sparkman Stephens steel hull named Adios. Used to be a family I was close to that had a dock under the bridge on the south side. Ludwin Aceituno (Luvi) and his wife Emmi. Good rates and food. Been awhile though. Fair winds, I wish I was back out there. Land locked for now.
@@BeauAndBrandy Of course there was also a time trying to unwrap a halyard from around a prop during an unexpected storm in 8 foot seas at 3am while my crew shined a spot light in the water so I could see to work and give the sharks a better look at my taste like chicken legs. Pop up for a breath then back down riding the belly of the stern like a bronco to get one or two wraps at a time undone. Ahhh, life at sea😂
... the starz were soo bright, they ghosted you in the foreground... when you moved about the cockpit the galaxies actually appeared with their milky presence... what a 'EasterEgg'
Based on prior experience did you get a zarpe/exit document from the last place you left from (US). As I recall, Guatemala wants that doc for checking in, otherwise you have to visit Belize for a day, get their exit paperwork before checking into Guatemala.

My wife and I love your videos. We’re interested in learning more about how you use your centerboard. When do you raise or lower it? Is it down most of the time? We’re curious
Actually we lost our centerboard off the coast of Curacao 3 years ago, haven’t noticed a big enough difference for us, so we are not adding it back. But previously we would put the centerboard down anything beam or forward. But it did cause drag.
@@BeauAndBrandy thank you for explaining this. You might share this in a video. I would imagine that it would add stability in a storm or in a rolling anchorage.
@@floydgraves3997 ua-cam.com/video/hLYQ0E8rjWA/v-deo.htmlsi=-sgQfcDVMdSSPz2v I just finished binging all of their episodes and to answer your question was this video that was put out right before they lost their centerboard.
