So glad that you returned to UTA Tank! Their album last year was one of top ones for me. I'm not usually a fan of power metal so like you said, throw out genres. Great music is great music! It's a shame that there is no video yet for The Wind That Shapes The Land. That's a sonic masterpiece, imo. Instead, I suggest checking out Legacy. It's a song that expands their sound and I love it. Either way, I can't wait to see your next reaction to this awesome band.
Agreed as well. This last year, my town doesn't have a good pizza option so I've been driving the town over to get better Pizza. Abyss has often been my travel companion, and The Wind That Shapes the Land is awesome.

By far my all-time favorite song by Unleash The Archers this song hits so fucking hard and gets me going hard, i blast the hell out of it when i train. Fantastic reaction video. P.S. i also replay the ending passage all the time haha
Great reaction, Tank! Very reflective of the first time I heard this song. That first "Brittney wail"™ (yes, she should definitely patent that wail) got me hooked. This song is now a permanent fixture on my playlist. As for other recommendations, I'd definitely recommend UTA's cover of "Northwest Passage". It is phenomenal! They stay true to the original but put their own spin on it, which is just out of this world. It's not as intense as this song, but it's just sooooo cool! Again, great reaction, Tank. You da' man.
These guys have just cruised to the top of my favorite bands list. Seeing you react to them reminds me of how I felt first hearing all these songs. Really hope you continue the journey! Also, you should try looking into the albums' concept. It really lets the song paint a badass picture
Great reaction Tank, deffo need to get into "Faster than Light", Whenever i listen to the album the sequence of "Soulbound" into "Faster than Light" then "Wind that shapes the land" is just perfection. Glad to have you back on reactions, keep it up my man.
Dude I absolutely LOVE your videos! Massive greets from Germany! I just watched your video to "The wind that shapes the land" and I just had to come back to this video. This is probably my favourite UTA and I just love your insights to this song. Just wanted to leave this here. Even if this comment makes your day just marginally better it's worth it! Keep on rocking dude and all the best to your family!
@@TankTheTech you deserve all the praise man! The videos you and chase put out did help me a lot through this Covid craziness. The lockdowns in combination with severe depression are hitting hard, but every time you upload it's just a couple of minutes for me to just sit back, relax, forget about the world and learn about music :D And I know the suggestions should come through discord and I already voted them up, but please please have a listen to Nemophila. It's just a couple of months since I first listened to them but they caught me hook, line and sinker. They are just so good! :D
I heard Grant and Andrew have been throwing solos back and forth since they were twelve!!! That much experience playing together has to build some comfort.
Always great to see a react to Unleash the Archers. Several years ago I knew the band with the song General of the dark army, and as many as the fans, the Britney’s voice was the first I notice, but the musicianship is fantastic. The fact they do powermetal without talking about dragons, castles and all the classic stuff it’s refreshing to the genre. Nice video, man. An authentic dream come true would be to see reaction videos to The Warning, Haggard, Moonspell, other song by Ne Obliviscaris, Baroness, Orphaned Land, Myrath, Pagan’s Mind, Anathema, and many more. Thanks for uploading these great videos. Keep the good work!
Dude, I was just thinking yesterday how it's been a while since you've done an Unleash the Archers reaction! I'm so happy to see you liking (loving?) their music! I think we know how to classify Unleash the Archers: Power(ful) Metal! 😉 Just one of the many things I love about this song is how Grant's layered growls/screams at the end nicely bookends Brittney's layered "yahs" from the beginning.
I love your emotional Reactions, how you geht off in delight. And in between These clear astonishing analyses of the Gear. Like " he's playing a guitar by a Company based somewhere in the backyards of a small town in the nowhere where one single man builds them on bis own..." Where do you have all this knowledge from, you wandering "Gearpedia" ?!?! And you recognize all that in a glimpse... Dude you are sick.👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍 Respect
there is a whole lot of reasons that UTA is one of my all time favorite bands. and there is a whole lot of reasons that YOU Tank, is one of my favorite youtube reactors ;)
I gave you a big like dude. How can one not give a like to someone who really digs Unleash The Archers. Canada is metal as f%^k. There is and was so much talent in this country
Two other Unleash the Archers songs I recommend, though they don't feature much in the way of gear, are Legacy and Northwest Passage. The band produced Legacy as a lyric video, and I think you'll especially love the guitar and drum work in the song, and how nicely the intensity contrasts Brittney's vocals. Northwest Passage is a cover of the Stan Rogers song, which I've sometimes seen referred to as Canada's unofficial national anthem. I love how the band builds in intensity throughout the song. It's absolutely worth checking out, and I think there may even be some gear in the music video to talk about!
The more I listen Abyss (I’m up to like 7-8 times over the last couple weeks), the more I think this is my favorite UtA song. So kickass, right out the gate.
I think you’ll like General of the Dark Army! But I honestly recommend any of their songs, can’t recall how many have music Videos. Maybe even Faster than Light! Now I have to go and watch this vid from the start - caught it at the end :)
I've got to recommend Test Your Metal. Great song and the video is tour footage, I think you could have a lot of fun with that one! Great video, best wishes from Sweden
heya, tank. uta is one of the first female-fronted bands that caught my attention a few years ago. i was pretty strictly dark core, black, and industrial back then, but the power of their music opened my eyes to what they are and do. it also made me go back and listen to some of the early metal, and some of the rock from my high school days. i started listening to newer bands and music i'd missed. i found reactors like alex, and rah, and j_a_j, and then you and chase, and a very lot in my life has changes because y'all have continued my journey. thanks. sorry, didn't mean for this to go on so, but i think i'll post it, anyway. hadgd!
"Really high-end production quality." Me: * Remembers Brittney saying that the green laser light was a $20 Walmart find *. 😅 Kidding aside, the video is indeed really well done. UTA is awesome. They do us Canadians proud. 🤘 🇨🇦
great reaction, glad your back to UTA tunes, Legacy, Cleanse the bloodlines, faster than light and Tonight we ride would be some excellent places to start
Great! UTA will be on tour in Europe and I just bought my ticket for their concert in Paris on December. My last concert was on December 2019 (Jinjer) so it will be 2 years already 😱 I hope Covid will be defeated until then 🤞🏻 Leeeet's goooo!!
this album got me through last summer. it was my favorite of the year and I'll never be able to listen to it and not feel it emotionally tied to the pandemic. Also, as a person who struggles to show emotion, seeing how music affects you and you don't even like try to hide it or apologize, that's incredible.
Hi Tank! First of all, thank you for introducing me to the brand Violent Gentlemen a couple of months ago. Since then...I ordered lot of stuff from them. :) Congrats on the new Tank hoodie...I just ordered it. Cheers, Daniel from Hungary
Yes! I love UTA! If you made me pick my favorite band, they would easily be the one I chose. The band is made up of insane individual talent, and they come together to form an incredible band. I've followed this band since "Behold the Devastation" in 09' and it's so awesome to see how big they've become. Nothing but praise for them.
Yeah buddy! More UTA! "Tonight we ride" would be my recommendation for the next one. As always I dig your comments and your content. Keep it rolling homie.
Tank, Would be interested in seeing your reaction too Killer Be Killed - From A Crowded Wound The band is a supergroup of sepultura, the dillinger escape plan, mastadon and converge. The sound in this video is so sonically interesting. Think you'll appreciate it.
I agree with your comment about metal genres. The best metal bands in my opinion transcend genre. I like all metal genres from Black to Symphonic. Cheers dude.
Awesome reaction, always great to hear UTA! Recommendations for next UTA video: The Matriarch - It's also a "Quick banger" similar to Soulbound, but from the Apex album, so if you loved Soulbound, you'll love this one. Apex - The final track to the album it serves as title track for, it's one of the most epic things I've heard and the finale without fail leaves me tired and smiling. Other bands to try out: Spoil Engine - Disconnect
You and Chase have both mentioned the growls. Normally they aren't my thing but on Abyss and Apex they are used so well. When you have the growls that is the voice of "The Matriarch" the antagonist of the story that runs through both albums. UTA are about the only band I like that routinely uses metal growls. \m/ rock on Tank.
Great reaction Tank! You should check out Tonight We Ride, General of the Dark Army, and Cleanse the Bloodlines, which was the song that got me into them.
I am still pissed that I discovered them 1 week AFTER they played in a local dive bar in Saskatoon (way back in the Before Times of 2014). UTA, you are on my Live music bucketlist.
Apex and Abyss are damn near perfect albums. Playing them back to back is a must and great. Tank, Brittany has two sets of videos doing a track breakdown of each song and the story behind them for both albums.
As an Italian, my humble suggestion is to react to Flashgod Apocalypse - The Violation. A classic by them and you'll be blown away. Amazing reactions and channel, by the way! Saw UTA live back in the days when I used to live in Toronto and they destroyed the stage.
Love these guys !!! You could do one from them every week and I would never get tired of them. Still hoping for some Mister Misery Ballad of the headless Horseman.
Man, these guys are amazing. My personal favorite one is Northwest Passage, those great vocals on the first half of the song continuing with that pure power metal fast tempo on the second half, just beautiful song. I mean cover.. :)
Hello there Tank! Speaking about taking a long time to go back to a band, I'm must remind you about Ayreon :) Especially today that Arjen himself posted on FB that he is working on a new Star One album (one of his side projects). As suggestions both from Ayreon and some of his side projects, I leave you the following (all of them are live so you can see and talk about gear :P ): Ayreon - Day Sixteen: Loser (Live @Ayreon Universe) Ayreon - Garden of Emotions (Electric Castle Live and Other Tales) Star One - Intergalactic Space Crusaders (Live @Ayreon Universe) Star One - Eye of Ra (Live @Ayreon Universe) Guilt Machine - Twisted Coil (Electric Castle Live and Other Tales) Thanks a lot for your reactions. Every release day at the correct time, I stop my work just to check your videos. Seriously, THANK YOU (!!!) for the entertainment
Dude this is a mother frickin monster track! It was my most played song on Spotify for 2020 and the album wasn't even released until August 21st. It gets me amped out of my gourd without fail every time. Also, you'd be doing yourself a grave disservice If you didn't check out Unleash The Archers- Tonight We Ride in the future. It's unreal!
6:31min u've said "If I like it, I like it". That is also my opinion. It doesn't matter, what kinda style it is, when the sound is catching you and touches your soul, it is good. I'm 47 yo and I love a lot of differnet musicstyles. Okay, Hard Rock ist my most favorite stuff. A year ago, I didn't know the Archers and now I listen to them each and every day @work, in my car and @home I listen ally reaction vids :D If anyone had told me many years ago, sometimes I would love "growls" in a song, I would have called them crazy. What kind of music you hear, tells a lot about the way you went in life. Music and also the different styles are companions your whole lifetime. I love the 80's Pop, Neue deutsche Welle (new german wave), which was a special musicstyle in germany most the time with german lyrics. Also I love Partypop, EBM and sometimes techno, Neue Deutsche Härte (= new german hardness... bands like EIsbrecher, Rammstein, Megaherz for example), adulted oriented Rock, classical music and American country (new country like Brantley Gilbert, Pat Green, Brad Paisley, Christian Kane and so on). Your mind is growing, also your perception to music and I give a f*** what people around me think, what I have to listen to. Sorry for my bad english, but you doing right, you on your way, no other could go this for you. NAMASTE PS.: Counting the days, I'll see my Archer back again @ your channel

We race around the melted char of what was once a neutron star
And use the gravity to whip us into dark galactic rifts
Yet still somehow we can't escape, they have no flaw, they feel no pain
These twisted shadows of the men I once condemned
We can
Why do you seek us
See right
You won't defeat us
Through you
Turn around while you can
Your soul
Try to remember
Is ours
Why you defend her
This time
Shatter the master plan
Soul bound
Endlessly forever
Locked between the darkness and the light
Don't drown
In the swarming, blackened rising
Hold on to humanity and fight
Tormented by the tethering of souls to phantoms that remain
These spectres seem devoid of life but there is something in their eyes
Refuse to see they can't be saved, I push to pull them from the grave
End their addiction to the thrall once and for all
But who am I to be their saviour, slave to time
When I am doomed to be in chains for all my life
Soul bound
Endlessly forever
Locked between the darkness and the light
Don't drown
In the swarming, blackened rising
Hold on to humanity and fight

It definitely made my day! Thank you so much!
@@TankTheTech you deserve all the praise man! The videos you and chase put out did help me a lot through this Covid craziness. The lockdowns in combination with severe depression are hitting hard, but every time you upload it's just a couple of minutes for me to just sit back, relax, forget about the world and learn about music :D
And I know the suggestions should come through discord and I already voted them up, but please please have a listen to Nemophila. It's just a couple of months since I first listened to them but they caught me hook, line and sinker. They are just so good! :D
For fun gear spotting, I recommend checking out their video for "Northwest Passage"
LOVE Unleash the Archers, you really should check out more of their stuff, I would also recommend watching Faster than Light
Dude you are sick.👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Respect
there is a whole lot of reasons that UTA is one of my all time favorite bands. and there is a whole lot of reasons that YOU Tank, is one of my favorite youtube reactors ;)
To quote the immortal words from The Vampire Lestat...." MORE " !!
I gave you a big like dude. How can one not give a like to someone who really digs Unleash The Archers. Canada is metal as f%^k. There is and was so much talent in this country
🤘🤘🤘
FYI - UtA will be at ProgPower USA in Atlanta in October (if it actually happens) - tix still available.
I meant September
I think you’ll like General of the Dark Army!
But I honestly recommend any of their songs, can’t recall how many have music Videos. Maybe even Faster than Light!
Now I have to go and watch this vid from the start - caught it at the end :)
oh, man that would be right up Tanks alley!
Hell yes.
Yes back to Unleash the Archers! Can't go wrong with anything from this band!
I've got to recommend Test Your Metal. Great song and the video is tour footage, I think you could have a lot of fun with that one!
Great video, best wishes from Sweden
Goosebumps..... Every time..🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
heya, tank. uta is one of the first female-fronted bands that caught my attention a few years ago. i was pretty strictly dark core, black, and industrial back then, but the power of their music opened my eyes to what they are and do. it also made me go back and listen to some of the early metal, and some of the rock from my high school days. i started listening to newer bands and music i'd missed. i found reactors like alex, and rah, and j_a_j, and then you and chase, and a very lot in my life has changes because y'all have continued my journey. thanks.
sorry, didn't mean for this to go on so, but i think i'll post it, anyway.
hadgd!
"Really high-end production quality."
Me: * Remembers Brittney saying that the green laser light was a $20 Walmart find *. 😅
Kidding aside, the video is indeed really well done. UTA is awesome. They do us Canadians proud. 🤘 🇨🇦
I love Unleash the archers, they seems to be very funny people and they are obviously very talented too.
Agreed. Fantastic song great reaction. I kills me how into it you get... cheers bud.
great reaction, glad your back to UTA tunes, Legacy, Cleanse the bloodlines, faster than light and Tonight we ride would be some excellent places to start
Great! UTA will be on tour in Europe and I just bought my ticket for their concert in Paris on December. My last concert was on December 2019 (Jinjer) so it will be 2 years already 😱
I hope Covid will be defeated until then 🤞🏻
Leeeet's goooo!!
this album got me through last summer. it was my favorite of the year and I'll never be able to listen to it and not feel it emotionally tied to the pandemic.
Also, as a person who struggles to show emotion, seeing how music affects you and you don't even like try to hide it or apologize, that's incredible.
🤘🤘🤘
I would love to see Tank's gear breakdown of Scott's kit in "Tonight We Ride" video.
😂😂😂 Exactly!! He might guess the sticks. Lol
Awesome reaction!!! gotta check out (the wind that shapes the land) ! one of the most amazing songs ever!!!
I think we need Tank to do a bass playthrough for this. Fill in for the missing bassist 🤘
Love your reaction / analysis as well as "Chase Carneson" ones. Keep tanking my friend. Saluttes from Argentina
Hi Tank! First of all, thank you for introducing me to the brand Violent Gentlemen a couple of months ago. Since then...I ordered lot of stuff from them. :) Congrats on the new Tank hoodie...I just ordered it. Cheers, Daniel from Hungary
Thanks man!
Yes! I love UTA! If you made me pick my favorite band, they would easily be the one I chose. The band is made up of insane individual talent, and they come together to form an incredible band.
I've followed this band since "Behold the Devastation" in 09' and it's so awesome to see how big they've become. Nothing but praise for them.
Nice reaction, as always! Thanks!
BTW, Awakening does have growls. :-)
This reaction to this spectacular song was spectacular! AWESOME!
I love Brittneys vocals a ton in this. The first half in particular. Just hit so hard. An amazing band.
True said about genres. If you like something listen the hell out of it and don't let people bring you down
Yeah buddy! More UTA! "Tonight we ride" would be my recommendation for the next one. As always I dig your comments and your content. Keep it rolling homie.
Tank, Would be interested in seeing your reaction too Killer Be Killed - From A Crowded Wound
The band is a supergroup of sepultura, the dillinger escape plan, mastadon and converge. The sound in this video is so sonically interesting. Think you'll appreciate it.
I love when they mix in rough vocals more like they used to early on. Still have their entire discography on my commute shuffle
Yeah, UTA is one of the best metal bands in the last 5 years. You should check out the Queensryche catalog.
I agree with your comment about metal genres. The best metal bands in my opinion transcend genre. I like all metal genres from Black to Symphonic. Cheers dude.
Brittney said the Green light in this video she got from Walmart for $5 lol
Awesome reaction, always great to hear UTA! Recommendations for next UTA video:
The Matriarch - It's also a "Quick banger" similar to Soulbound, but from the Apex album, so if you loved Soulbound, you'll love this one.
Apex - The final track to the album it serves as title track for, it's one of the most epic things I've heard and the finale without fail leaves me tired and smiling.
Other bands to try out:
Spoil Engine - Disconnect
You and Chase have both mentioned the growls. Normally they aren't my thing but on Abyss and Apex they are used so well. When you have the growls that is the voice of "The Matriarch" the antagonist of the story that runs through both albums. UTA are about the only band I like that routinely uses metal growls. \m/ rock on Tank.
Great reaction Tank! You should check out Tonight We Ride, General of the Dark Army, and Cleanse the Bloodlines, which was the song that got me into them.
UTA rocks, very powerful, thanks for the reaction. My ultimate concert: UTA, Blind Guardian, Sabaton, Amaranth, and Nightwish.
And to be greedy because why not, I would add Iron Maiden and Metallica to this concert. I can then croak happy.
You should also check out some of their live videos. They did a show in Rochester that was awesome, and decent enough quality.
Definitely one of my favorite songs from the album! 🤘
I am still pissed that I discovered them 1 week AFTER they played in a local dive bar in Saskatoon (way back in the Before Times of 2014). UTA, you are on my Live music bucketlist.
They sound amazing live. Virtually the same as album sound, imo
I LOVE power metal, it’s some of the best to play games to
If you want to hear some growls in conjunction with her vocals, try Tonight We Ride. Man, it's a showcase of the ability everyone in the band has.
My only regret is that I can't like this video more than once. I love UTA so much and I gets me all giddy that you're enjoying them this much as well.
As suggestions both from Ayreon and some of his side projects, I leave you the following (all of them are live so you can see and talk about gear :P ):
Ayreon - Day Sixteen: Loser (Live @Ayreon Universe)
Ayreon - Garden of Emotions (Electric Castle Live and Other Tales)
Star One - Intergalactic Space Crusaders (Live @Ayreon Universe)
Star One - Eye of Ra (Live @Ayreon Universe)
Guilt Machine - Twisted Coil (Electric Castle Live and Other Tales)
Thanks a lot for your reactions. Every release day at the correct time, I stop my work just to check your videos. Seriously, THANK YOU (!!!) for the entertainment
Im still waiting too :)
Afterlife (from same album) has really been getting me lately. Been practically playing that one on loop.
Good music will always touch you in some kind of way.
BTW Gloryhammer!!!!!!!! :)
UTA were also my gateway drug into power metal.
imagine the "don't headbang challenge 2020" would have started with this song.
Just noticed Alive In Melbourne up on the wall behind you. Hopefully you'll add Abyss there.
General of the Dark Army is my all time favorite from UTA.
A year ago, I didn't know the Archers and now I listen to them each and every day @work, in my car and @home I listen ally reaction vids :D
If anyone had told me many years ago, sometimes I would love "growls" in a song, I would have called them crazy.
NAMASTE
PS.: Counting the days, I'll see my Archer back again @ your channel
Definitely more UTA!!! Also Visigoth and Striker!
