Love the stats to help parents know that tantrums are common and are to be expected. As parents we can shift our expectation to be more realistic about what we will have to deal with. Over the last 3 decades of raising my 6 kids, I’ve tried all of these things and more! I share my experiences and lessons learned on my channel. I agree with these tips - well said!
I always say 'I love you' whenever my child starts to cry, then he stop for a moment and say 'I love you so much, Love ( then he hug me)'.. I don't know when I started that trick but it's effective 😂

#1. A solid diet and avoid addictive substances such as sugar. #2. A healthy sleep pattern. #3. Don’t be so controlling, let them explore sometimes. #4. Praise the good things they do. My oldest has social anxiety, so generally her problem isn’t not getting what she wants, it’s too much unfamiliarity. So I keep her focused on me and objects around her.
These are huge! Sleep and Diet! Works wonders for humans, who would have thought that children are humans right? It's okay to make a mess and get dirty sometimes.
My 4 year-old daughter has always had, and still has, crying/tantrum episodes every single day. it’s humiliating. Bedtime is so stressful EVERY DAY! And this is not the only time she is out of control. I have tried it all; routine, stories, positive reinforcement, games, etc., still, nothing works. We can't figure it out...we would appreciate your input... I'm all ears!!! Thanks!!!
Actually most of the people who watch this have no parenting responsibilities, they seem to be older siblings wanting to figure out how to calm the younger siblings so they can stay on social media.
One of the biggest ways to manage behavior is to avoid triggering it in the first place :-) Parents can help avoid tantrums and meltdowns by building a strong and positive relationship with their child, teaching emotional regulation skills in a fun way and practicing them regularly, and changing how they interact with their child. All this takes more work on the front end, but pays off in a big way pretty quickly.
Excellent tips @BrightSide The most important thing is to understand why your child is crying or throwing tantrums. There may be many reasons behind this. But to start with, you need to start communicating with your child on a daily basis. Communication doesn't necessarily happen verbally but by also showing your warmth and love towards your child.
ya its nice video. many children have difficulty regulating their emotions. Tantrums, outbursts, whining, defiance, fighting: these are all behaviors you see when kids experience powerful feelings they can’t control. While some kids have learned to act out because it gets them what they want - attention or time on the iPad - other kids have trouble staying calm because they are unusually sensitive.
I feel blessed that my daughter doesnt demand she asks questions a lot of them. I thank her mother for that. I take my daughter out on walks on my days off and teach her not to be scared. To climb a hill and at the end look over the hill and see how far she's Come. She's now almost eight. I still ask myself if Im doing the right thing she doesn't ask for anything. She's just Curious. Never sulks. I'm blessed but I wonder if she's too sheltered
Number ONE : do not put a child on this world if you don't intend to stop working. You can not be a parent for only eight weeks. Tantrums are often just a way to get your attention for at least a minute because mommy or daddy is always "busy" Children need a lot of time with relaxed parents.
Whenever I see a kid throwing a tantrum in public, I say, "Don't be a grouch!"; in sign language! It works wonders! The kids stop the tantrum to try to figure out what I'm doing.

"Tantrums are very common in kids aged 1 to 4." And also among adults. They just act up in more subtle ways, e.g. loud talking, pointless bickering, endless B.S., etc.
Great list. Almost everything is Attachment Parenting style, which is already scientifically proven to raise a child that is more positive and happier. (Except #3 and #1)
Fun fact : most of the people watching this are not actually parents, there older siblings trying to find out how to calm down there younger sibling so they can get there phone back.
My wife tried all that and none of it work with are son but when I do almost the exact opposite the way my parents raised me, with love, discipline and a firm voice no Tantrums no whining and he listens to everything I say and he is a awesome
Thanks for this video. Before watching this, I have already learned that when I tell my son (5yrs) a amount of time before he has to either clean up or get out of the bath for example, he does not give attitude when the count down ends and it's time time to get out or clean up.

#10 dad that we habe to tell people to adequately prepare you kids for an outing by feeding and resting them. Tantrums on the other hand can be confused with legitimate escalation in crying as a result of pain, hunger, etc. My grandson from birth seemed to be throwing a tantrum. This grew worse as he physically grew stronger. It was tempting to wonder if he inherited his grandpa's bad temper. But i kept wondering if he was in pain. It usually occurred when he was placed in his back (diapering and naps) or in the carseat. At about 1 yo, we took him for specialized physical therapy to address torticollis and mild foot metatarsus abductus. The therapist discovered his sacrum and spine were messed up. He corrected the muscle and fascia tension and VOILA! Instantly the angry tantrums stopped and he cooperates with diaper changes, carseat, and totally sleep on his side. BUT fast gorward to 18mos. Now if he doesn't get his way he has tantrums!
I always say 'I love you' whenever my child starts to cry, then he stop for a moment and say 'I love you so much, Love ( then he hug me)'.. I don't know when I started that trick but it's effective
