  • NEW SERIES! InsPOURation FUNdamentals! Random fun projects! Successes and Fails - you'll see them all!
    Testing out how different patterns poured into resin creates different styles of flowers - some fail and some succeed! Check out the video to see which ones you like. Part 2 coming soon!
    #resincoasters #resinflowers #flowercoasters #resinart #liadiadesigns
    ----SERIES DESCRIPTION----
    The focus of this series is to have fun, be completely random and embrace my creative curiosity (aka being totally distracted by some new idea😅🙈). I will be testing out ideas based on my resin knowledge and various medium techniques I've learned throughout my life as an artist. These videos will be mini tutorials and you'll see if I succeed or fail (for fails, I'll discuss where I think things went wrong). The plan is 3 of these mini tutorial videos per week plus my weekly full tutorial. 😊💖 I hope you'll join me for some fun times!
    * I have not taken and will not be intentionally using anyone's else's tutorial techniques in my videos... if there are similarities in techniques, it's completely coincidental.*

    Not sure if you have found a way to avoid the blobs yet but just in case you haven't I wanted to let you know that it doesn't do this because the colors are crossing and having thicker coaster won't fix it. It is all about the weight of the pigment. Pastes and micas are on the heavier side and it being white also makes it heavier. To make flowers I will use alcohol inks or add drops of alcohol ink to VERY LITTLE amounts of my micas or pastes.

      @LiaDiaDesigns  2 роки тому +1

      Thank you😊, yes, you're right, it's the weight of the paste mix... when the mix is thicker and the lines cross over each other, they sink even more. I don't use alcohol inks as I've seen them fade on other's pieces (that were originally amazingly beautiful)... so I prefer to use mediums that I know will keep their color over time. Definitely making the paste mixes thinner is a winning strategy... I've done that in a few of my followup tutorials 😊

    • @rezinate1700
      @rezinate1700 2 роки тому

      @@LiaDiaDesigns oh yes definitely they do fade if you use them alone. I ha ent had that problem as long as I mix them into the resin just like mixing the mica. But then again I will make sure I use opaque colors and add just a little alcohol ink white.
      Absolutely love your work though and it has given me so many of my own ideas for my own work and shop. So thank you!! Keep it up!

    I cannnit hardly believe how beautiful the art is . I’ve been a chicken to try anything new this week . I am saving all energy I can get to me . To prayer warriors I’d like to also ask for others to pray and God Knows the all things that’s needing fixed .

    It looked like you put the white on first, the colors are suppose to go on first and the weight of the white and temp
    Of resin all come into play with the blobs. You
    Can always thin them but with the silicone brush too , regardless they look beautiful

    Those are gorgeous, I looked at your link for the pigment paste and saw they were mica powders and i have those, so I’m so excited to be able to try this tonight. Thanks so much for the videos, yours are great.

      No, sorry, I'll check the list, pigment paste is necessary for this.. mica powder will not give you the same effect.

    I love your work and indepth explanation. I just wanted to ask you one thing, I have seen you only using heat gun and not blow torch, is there any particular reason u don't use blowtorch??

    • @LiaDiaDesigns
      @LiaDiaDesigns  3 роки тому

      i try to avoid the torch when I'm using molds, the torch flame can damage molds... the heat gun is safer.

    Why do so many people go for the opposite side of the coaster over the one we spend all of our time working on? Will someone please answer that question?

    • @LiaDiaDesigns
      @LiaDiaDesigns  2 роки тому +1

      it really depends on the effect you're trying to get - for flowers inside resin, the "right" side is the bottom because of how the pigments settle.. though some people prefer the top if the pigments settle down too much. For me, the "right" side depends on the design I'm making... which in most cases is the top (the side we work on)... but flowers and some other techniques can be the exception

    Is the top side that you see in the mold actually the bottom of the coaster when unmolded? I like the spiral dots. 😁

    • @LiaDiaDesigns
      @LiaDiaDesigns  3 роки тому +1

      For this technique - yes, when I flip the coaster to show the result, that is intended to be the top/ "good side"... the other side is the bottom.

    Hi dear,does that mean you waited 30 minutes when you put the resin in the molds?

    • @LiaDiaDesigns
      @LiaDiaDesigns  2 роки тому +1

      The time started from when I mixed the resin... but you need to know the timing of your own resin... this video will help you figure that out first... ua-cam.com/video/oi-szCDCkWU/v-deo.html
