Couple things, check the trans fluid when running, in neutral. Also the gauge cluster is very common and easy fix. the plugs behind it get a little corroded, you can pull the cluster and bend the tabs a little and apply some dielectric grease. About a 20 min fix. The headlight beep it does have, I’d be willing to bet they pulled the fuse behind the glove box bypassing the door alarm or put a fuse switch on it. Great find!
Thanks! Tried bending the posts on the gauge cluster and dielectric grease, the gauge cluster itself was corroded though so bought a used one for $100 dollars and replaced, you’re probably right about the fuse for the headlight beep, we’re missing a couple of fuses in the interior fuse box. And checking the trans fluid while running in neutral is good advice. Thanks for the comment! Appreciate you taking the time
Congratulations; The TJ Wrangler model does have a "headlight on" warning beeper system. That issue can be fixed. Owning an old Jeep is a "Tinkerer's dream". You will constantly be fixing things that go bad (just like any older car) but you can do a lot yourself and you must have a good mechanic that loves Jeeps and can do the scary items. I love my Jeeps, my wife has now allowed me to three Wranglers currently . Carry On and many adventures lay ahead!
Thanks! So far we have replaced the ac compressor, alternator, rear windshield struts and the gauge cluster with a lot more to go! We’ve had so much fun tinkering with it. I appreciate your kind words!
There are some deals in the rust belt on jeeps that may have been taken care of better than expected (at least on the rust side). With UA-cam as great as it is and a little ability to learn it’s such a fun platform to own and work on! Thanks for commenting!

Thanks for the suggestion on the trans fluid! It was low but we weren’t checking it right. The Jeeps runs so much better now!

$3000? I would have bought that all day long for that. Great deal, even with the "issues." The TJ's are nice little rigs.

We are loving fixing her up and she wheels really well too!
So happy you made it home okay!
I am greatful, if not a bit surprised!
Forgot to mention, the tire date code was like 2003. I’m still shocked it made it all the way to Kansas without overheating
I bet it did overheat we just didn’t know about it
