This is a MUST watch for anybody tackling yew. It is funny I am just about to have alook at my much smaller examples and I was going to verify some of the characteristics for this species. No need to bother with that now. The tip about creating a pad from one sided branches is well demonstrated and I will definitely be employing this in the future rather than always cutting baack to the first shoot. Thank you so much Jelle :)
I've been watering a yew for three months without doing anything with it for fear that I would destroy it totally. Thank you for sharing your knowledge, by weeks end I will start on it with confidence after watching your videos. I didn't know I could have multi trunks but I see them here. I've been practicing wiring on a stick figure tree so I think I'm good there. I just needed the encouragement... thank you Sir.
Sometimes, worse than destroying the potential is to do nothing. You will not learn when you do not touch the tree. Make a plan. Sketch the tree you think you can make. Maybe share with a friend for input. And then.. SLowly start working towards it!
We always believe in "All's well that starts off well". Your very first shot explodes with a bunch of useful informations and everyone just don't want to miss even a bit........ Did a master's service to your friend in getting him out of the jittery by styling it beautifully.
Thank you so much! Lets not forget.. I got a great deal too. I got to spend a day working on a tree, do a great styling, and I do not have to find more shelve space for yet another tree :)
Nice work, last fall I bought a multitrunk Taxus Baccata, nursery stock, and am looking forward to style it... being patient is the tough part of having bonsai!
I have for several years chaenomeles bonsai speciosa red , Tokyo nishiki , and this year I have two chijubai small and large ( which I found at a good price ) . but just on the last while asking for sellers . I would like to hear different opinions and I like your videos , thank you . From Italy but half German 😁

😁

Awesome. I urbanadoried a yew this season. The backbudding technique will be a boon I'm sure. Thanks Great tip!
how has your yew done?
Wow wonderful bonsai ^^
Like 232
My friend, thank you for good sharing
So glad you like it! Not sure what the 232 reference stands for though?
I'd call that a success. A very nice result. I especially enjoyed your approach to one sided branches.
glad it was enjoyable!
Eine wunderschöne Pflanze. Interessantes Video. Das Entfernen von Nadeln aus Eibenzweigen ist für mich eine neue Information.
Peter
:) Schon! Es gibt immer wieder etwas dazu zu lernen :)
Top notch as always, thank you.

Jelle weer een top video ik heb hem gekeken van begin tot het eind 👍
Hey Cor, leuk te horen!
Wow you made that into a beautiful tree. I hope your friend is very happy with it!😊
Hahaha, my friend is showing off with the tree :)
Wow yella looks amazing you are really talented.....
I was lucky with good material!
Amazing transformation! Love the long term format videos in Bonsais! ☺️👌🏼🌿
Me too! I prefer to see the results of actions and not only the actions so I try to make my videos cover a bit more time!
Awesome tree!
Thank you so much!
Awesome work
I am happy with the result too, yes!
Great work, Jelle is a good friend!!
❤
dat is een erg mooie boom geworden
Dank je. De eigenaar was er ook blij mee!
Quite beautiful. I've never worked with yew trees, do they airlayer?
they do!
Nice video 🇲🇨👍❤🙏
thank you so much
Very nice and clean job. I love taxus and this Is a very nice plant! Did you have an update on the 50 dollar challenge yew? Thanks for your videos!
I have a shot of the 50 dollar yew in an upcoming styling video. I have done another 50 dollar tree, the picea that was in my yew video!
Are yews easily airlayered. Really enjoyed the video
I have not tried true airlayering, but they throw roots easily so I would suspect it would work.
Wow 😮
nice? Or sad :)
@ Nice, looks like a show winner to me
@VictorHHH7 the owner stopped with bonsai, and sold all hist tree this summer. He only kept the yew..
@@GrowingBonsai I can see why he held on to that tree the longest, it would be a tough one to get rid of
@VictorHHH7 especially aince I told him to net sell below 500 bucks :)
hi do you have chaenomeles japonica (chojubai) .when yes i wil kno how do you care (pruning ,defoliate, fertilizer , and fungicide ) thanks
Hi, I do not have one of those I am afraid!
I have for several years chaenomeles bonsai speciosa red , Tokyo nishiki , and this year I have two chijubai small and large ( which I found at a good price ) . but just on the last while asking for sellers .
