As a semi regular on this route, note that whilst UK and Schengen (France) passport checks are done at StPancras on the way out and UK and Schengen (Dutch/French/Belgian as appropriate) are done on the way back, customs may still apply in either direction on arrival.
Just found your channel whilst looking for train reviews for europe and oh my fucking god you're a god send, well produced, informative, and entertaining. Hope you keep doin what you're doin, it's great
The unique offering of business premier is the ability to move the trip up until departure for no extra cost. You can access the lounge with your Amex Plat.
Thank you so much for sharing, very useful information!❤ By the way I know a discount can find cheaper train tickets, if someone needs, I am happy to share ❤
One of the main reason of it being pricey is the fact that only 200 people can board at each of the two stations in the netherlands, forcing the train to always leave with only 400 (out of 900 seats (smaller trains cannot be used due to safety measures in the channel tunnel) passagers from the netherlands. This is due to the military police claiming they lack the capacity to check more than 200 people per train at each station. And they have a far better lobby with the government than eurostar, being a french company. It is still very weird, the eurostar is there for 5 years now, enough time to train more personell. Imagine the military police deciding that only 100.000 people a day could the airport near amsterdam (roughly 200.000 people a day use it, and they do have the capacity to control 200.000 a day at one airport, but not 1800 people at one station? (4 eurostar trains a day * 900 passenger divided by 2 stations), no one would have accepted that.
I do think the train is the way to go. I'm glad the loo was in decent shape for you. The one time I took Eurostar from Gare du Nord to London the attendants basically let the loo's floor marinate in urine. So correct, so French...
Thank you Melanie, I just read about that - its so sad and that's definite one of the routes on my bucket list. I'm home busy with work for the next few weeks but still plan to ride Amtrak at least once this summer. I hope you are doing well and enjoying your summer so far!
@@HDjeff thanks Jeff. I'm glad that you weren't on the train. I'm praying for the people that were injured and killed. Yes my summer is going well. I took an Amtrak from Jersey to Baltimore last weekend. A short trip, but I do plan to take that long distance soon. Take care of yourself and I will be looking forward to more videos
Oh my gosh finally a video that answered my question😭 thank you so much.

That’s really interesting, I did not know that. Thanks for watching!
Always love seeing your videos!
Thank you Bonnie, I’m happy to hear you’re enjoying them!
They're not called "cabins." They are organised by classes.
You are right, I was using the airplane terminology. Thank you for correcting me.
I think next year Eurostar and Thalys will be arriving in Amsterdam Zuid / WTC not Central Station.
That’s interesting, I was not aware of that - thank you!
Awesome video:) just curious, did you get checked for your covid vaccination?
Thank you! I had it out with my passport for immigration but I'm not sure if they would've checked it otherwise.
Just wondering- when you went through immigration or any point- did they ask for COVID Documentation when you went on?
I think they checked the vaccine card because you are entering France and unfortunately either that or a test is still required there.

Oh that sounds awful, definitely didn’t have that experience! Yes I would definitely prefer the train on these routes, definitely the way to go.
Hey Jeff, I hope that you are ok, and was not on the train that derailed today

The train is a much better choice.
It’s a lot more fun!
