  • Automotive Launch Scan Tool Review:
In this video, I am reviewing the Launch CRP919 EBT Scan Tool. This great DIY scan tool can do a full system scan on your vehicle (in my case, my BMW X5 E70). It is important to be able to read more than just the basic OBD codes for the DME (ECU) for emissions. Most vehicles incorporate many computer systems, and this tool can read out each individual system and help you troubleshoot the fault codes.
This tool also has a bunch of activation features call component activations for help in diagnosing and troubleshooting automotive problems. As well as system resets, engine adaptations, injector codes, diesel functions, stored help information, and much more!

Why don't you use INPA or ISTA on a laptop? Or does this work just a good?

I have ISTA at work but not at home. I have not really looked into running a boot leg ISTA on a laptop. Have you successfully loaded it and use it yourself Kaiden?

Have you lost the ability to program tire pressure sensor id numbers into your vehicle computer with your scan tool? The one I bought allowed me to program in the id codes for 2 of my new tire pressure sensors on a 06 dodge grand caravan, but I didn't do all 4 at one time. After I finally changed the other tires, the reader wouldn't connect to the van any longer so I updated the software on the scanner. Now, it will no longer allow me to do anything but see the id numbers. Even then, I have to fight through various menus to get to that point.

That is crazy an update would do that. I would reach out to Launch and see what info you can get.

@@AskTheCarExperts Well I did, and they told me to contact the seller. The seller says it never had the function, despite me making clear that I KNOW it did, because I was able to use it to change two of the sensors before their update.
I'd make sure to check the features on yours regularly. I bought mine in September of last year, so I got less than 10 months before they started removing features from mine.
