This is a hydraulic elevator. What it's doing is called "blowing through the floor" in the down direction. Unit valve in the machine room most likely was out of adjustment. It's hitting the buffer springs in the pit and releveling up to the floor. This opens the bottom emergency terminal switch which cancels the call that was registered. Doors then won't open unless DO is pushed on the COP or another call is registered. When it blows through intermediate floors in the down at full speed, it levels down to the next floor. Single floor runs it's not getting up to rated speed and re levels at the floor. Typical of Down Transition not being adjusted properly. That adjustment increases and decreases the Down Leveling transition from full speed. I've installed, replaced and adjusted Maxton and EECO unit valves many times in the last 14 years as an Elevator Constructor.
See what I mean about these newer generic elevators? They break down so much, because they always are the lowest bidder, and the old ESCO lasted 55 years with absolutely NO problems!
CaptainElevator42189 And why Star City Elevators rides this thing, why didn't waited one month to go,it's not full calibrated yet,if I was him I had to wait after 1 month at least modernized then I could go
As kind of a wild guess, maybe the ULM (upper leveling marker) sensor on the tapehead isn't working properly, so it doesn't realize it should be slowing down for the floor until it actually gets there. By that point, it's too far to stop in time, so it misses the floor, and then the controller decides to go downwards to one of the limit switches (bottom floor demand) to kind of "recalibrate" in response to seeing unexpected inputs from the broken tapehead.
You're super brave to play with elevators the way you do. I couldn't do it, so it wouldn't be the job for me. I barely like riding them but then again I don't like exercise so there you go lol
the second part of the video you mentioned some vibrations. The mic picked that up perfectly. I am wondering if for some reason the brake wasn't catching properly if that would cause the vibrations I heard at the end of the video.
When it's going up, the stuff under the lift might be pulling on the buffer spring. When it's going down, the buffer might be hitting something, making it safety break
The elevator in Temple Building will often under level when it hits the basement and relevel while the door is open. Sometimes on other floors as well if it's been heavily used that day.
Seems to me that if it weren't for elevators this guy would be in his mother's basement staring down a dark hole muttering something about lotion and hoses...
My university institute has an 60 years old elevator where you manually open the outside door. On each stop it jumps with such a strong jump you are unable to carry a full cup of tea within it. :-D
Whoa!!!... Is suddenly a death trap of THIS elevator! Elevator needs fixtures and re-installed on the system modernized properly. How creepy done like this?!
When i went to Iran there was a hotel called toos I rode the elevator it was a little bit different elevator when you reach the floor it under levels and mid levels
@@JuanP1930Fun fact, sounds stupid, but hydraulic elevators CAN free fall, and in a more uncontrollable way than tractions, but as long as they're maintained well that won't happen
Is it a Schindler? Also I think the elevator was going down and while it was doing it, it crashed to the ground and then it thinks it messed up and moves up to level with the floor, that's I think, it may not be calibrated with the floors correctly
it might be a reasonable programming if the elevator does not open automatically when reaching the basement. think about water possibly being there or gas/smoke.
At the end of this video when there was new padding in the Elevator, your talking was softer. And at the beginning of this video, when there was no new padding in the Elevator, your talking was louder.
It went a little bit more down than necessary and had to pump some oil to level up correctly to the basement. The problem is that it did that abruptly. There is a video of some filmer where a Schindler Hydro in a dept. store did a similar thing while leveling down at the ground. Strange that this one didn't open the door automatically.
Must be a fairly new thing. Either way, it's just enough of an issue to set the average person on edge like they're trapped. It might be that some sort of leveling switch/valve was not engaging at the proper time.
And I Also Think That It Doesn't Open Due To The Fact That Once Its Done Releveling It Thinks It Already Opened And Closed, And The Time For The Door To Stay Open is Really Short So Thats Why The Controller Must Think That.
It's a brand new elevator (not a mod)...and if you watch till the end of the video, you will see that they fixed it. I should probably do an update on that though...
@@StarCityElevators Even if it's brand new there might have a leak or solenoid valve might have been too weak... New lifts (elevators) also can break especially in first two months or so. Because every installation is a bit unique and engineers need a time to set everything up correctly. I don't think that in this situation it was a wrong setting though... It might have been a manufacturing defect
@@Psevdonim123 It's possible that might be what happened. Usually I give an elevator six months to a year to get up to "out of the box" working order. I don't remember how old this was though, probably less than a month.
@Star City Elevators Thats Call Releveling, It's when the elevator went down too much from the basement and it had to use to hydraulic motor to go up again so that you can get out safely, So Really The Elevator Wasn't Malfunctioning.
It was like the thing doesnt have brakes when it stopped at basment, but the real reason is, the floor is too close to the cab, so it stops, but the door wont open. And when you wanted to stop at 1, it forget to brake and slowly did go Down to the basement, Controller may be failing ;)
received a reply to my comment I had posted about this particular lift. What the individual doesn't realize when they wrote their reply is I have been watching videos like this for quite a while. So, it is easy to pick out a installation that is a garbage insall or badly maintained. This installation in this case is both a crap install and not kept up very well.
Chris Blackstone Well but don't you know that a modded elevator when even did just one week it still can be in tests, why a person like has to ride without waiting the full installation,at this time the machine is still getting it's learnings
and I also think it never opens cause the timer for the door to stay open is like.. really short so once its done releveling it thinks it already opened automaticly
Super Techno Cat Actually he is wrong of riding something fresh out of the box,it's just one week in this video, why not wait once everything is done, the installations are complete?
elevator is simply crap. I was listening to it going down and it is strange how it sounds like it stops for half a second and then from what it sounds like the pump kicks on and it continues to go down. I however also didn't like the sounds it made when it would go up or down at certain points.

Wow thanks for explaining mate
I've been looking for this for YEARS and I finally found it!

probably also doesn't help that it's most likely a 2 speed motor
man that hydraulic valve is completly busted...
oh and also 4:47 killed me of laughter
This is why generic stuff SHOULD NOT EXIST!
Adam Petersen Maybe this one was sed up to manual controlling
just an afterthought, that fire alarm pull station is wayyyyy too close to the elevator call buttons
I also feel like placing the fire alarm and call station next to each other may not be a good idea on the 1st floor.
aandersen93 I agree.
YA SOMEONE can easilly pull it
Evan The gamer 3:04that's probably the cutest sound the elevator made
Silas McGee Weird.
That's a BG-12 LX pull station right at the controls.
It’s not a controller issue it needs a new hydraulic valve

Hey, you aren't the only one who has gotten stuck in a generic! I have too!
2nd guess: It might have hit one of the final limit switches

Everything is gud if you use an hydraulic elevator because in that one you can't free fall in the elevator

It’s a Minnesota
That elevator makes scary noises. ;-;
They should replace that elevator then.
HannahBug1 or as a description says should have kept the older elevator
Idk why but while u were doing this I was like: Stop it stop right now..
Can you please go to Lithuania for a lift test? There are some old elevators, you can check them out ;)
This elevator is definitely not a Minnesota Elevator, this is a generic junk elevator.
Did you not see the branding on the door jamb at the beginning of the video when he shows the door equipment? Because I'd argue it says otherwise...
This may be new but it could use some help. This controller on the elevator is really messed up!

Any background history of Wright and Mack elevator?
New elevators sometimes had some glitches here and there but this elevator wasnt calibrated right
Straw Playz If is recent, they had to set in service,to make everyone know they're still in tests
Why I see a hand print on the left lol
The leveling is so painfully long! Even for hydraulic... The pump might be failing, as it overshot's the floor only on way down.

I think the elevator can't stop at basement or 1st floor because there is no one lives there
Nice video
If this happens really frequently, the buffer springs would wear out.
your not alone 😂 that happens to my elevator sometimes
It safety breaks at -1
Instant door close.
That looks to be a major controller issue.
