.. would I use three mismatched lampshades? In a HEARTBEAT!! I LOVE it!!
Me too. From boring to beautiful.❤
Ditto!
Count me in too!
Yes lampshades are beautiful mismatched
I love all of these but the mismatched lampshades?! Perfection!!
Oh, thank you, Laurinda! Is it Lauri or Laurinda?
Sherry your home is BEAUTIFUL! Please keep in mind that it is YOUR HOME so you can do what you want...I would let the criticism go in one ear and out the other!! Fresh flowers die fake ones do not! I love your style so much I often copy it in my home. I wish I had your creative mind and the talent! Thanks for sharing everything you do with all of us.
Now that my husband is gone I have happily made MANY changes in my home.
My husband got himself gone about 38 years ago. Not that he was so awful or anything, but I have never been happier, being a single lady totally in charge of my own life and my own decor!
I think the three different shades is genius! Love love love the bird stencils on the ceiling.
Yay! Thank you!😊
Yes! I love that the 3 lampshades don't match. 3 lights are perfect. I think a 5 or 6 arm chandelier would be too chaotic with different shades. You always surprise me with your wonderful ideas.❤😊💡
Thank you so much, Vicki! 😊
Sherry,
I would love to see you do some regular Q&A videos! So many of us are enamored with your style, creativity, and professional use of a variety of tools. 💜
I just love the way the mismatched vintage shades look on your light fixture. I am definitely going to looks for some shades I can use to implement that idea! Thanks for sharing. All your ideas are amazing!
You are so welcome! I’m so glad you liked these ideas!
I love, love, love the addition of gold birds both painted and fun use of knobs.
Simple but very effective upgrades. Love the birds on the ceiling.
I used a curtain to cover by bench. I just used huge safety pins to attach it. I folded it like a gift. That way I could take it off and wash it or replace it when I got tired of it.
I just love your style. You have become my favorite thrifter. I would definitely use different shades like you did I think it is very cool. Love the gold Birds on the light fixtures and then the Goldbergs on the ceiling I would definitely do this but I live in an apartment so I just enjoy watching what you do to your home. Blessings and love from New Mexico
Hello Sherry. Love all your ideas, as always. The birds in the ceiling and adding antiquing wax was a great addition. The mud room looks very cozy. Yes, I'd use the mismatched glass globes. That's a brilliant idea! Ok, who should care or criticize someone for using faux plants instead of real??? Girl, don't listen to them, you do what YOU want. 😉 Your creations and ideas are such an inspiration. Thanks for all you do for us. Already looking forward to your next video. Take care 😊
I love the bird light without the antiquing wax, the birds on the ceiling is a great idea. Love it.. ❤️
I love the birds on the ceiling and I liked the gold birds before the wax. But thats just me. Your house, your call! Everything you do is beautiful, such creative talent. ❤
I love painting birds on the ceiling.
That would be great to add in children's rooms too. I think your room looked great painted green. I love it.
I look forward to all your great project ideas; they make my day. I am impressed by the refreshing changes a little paint makes in your home. I still wish I were your next door neighbor, but for now I will settle for being your "virtual neighbor." Liz
Love the mis-matched light fixtures!!!
Oh, thank you, Charlene!
The mismatched light globes are wonderful! They would be something I would have collected if I had more room to display. It's so great to use random things you love in such a pretty way. Now I'm on the hunt for a fixture and vintage globes! Love it so much!
Oh, thank you so much, Cheryl! It was a good thing I only needed three shades because even though Habitat had hundreds of glass shades, I only found three that looked vintage.
Wow Mrs Sherry so beautifully done as ALWAYS!! Everything looks fabulous!! Please say an extra prayer for me today! Just need an extra boost! 😊❤ hope you have a WONDERFUL rest of your week!! Invitation is ALWAYS open! 😂 🤭😜
The birds on the ceiling are precious! I wish I had somewhere I could do that. 🐦
I love your videos. I look for them when I have had enough of what's going on in the world. I smile all the way through Thank you
I am packing for a move so every video I watch current or older are helping me put my ideas for the new home THANK YOU SHERRY ❤
You are so welcome! What an exciting time! It’s so much work to move, but so much fun to start fresh in a new place!
Love the three mismatched shades! Much more interesting than matchy-matchy!
The birds on your ceiling and light look delightful! My husband painted a sky with puffy clouds and birds on the ceiling of my daughter's room when she was younger. We added glow-in-the-dark stars. She loved it.
Wow the whole show was awesome i loved what you did with the mud room. It really brought it up a notch. The cabinet doors in the bathroom surprised me cause i thought you were leaving them white but the black looked vey nice . Thank you Sherry! Ps the shades worked very well cause even thought hey were different they were similar in size and shape. They were a go for me.
Love the mixed shades, much more interesting
Glad you like them!
I love the mismatched light shades and the birds on the ceiling are so joyful!
Thank you so much, Nena!
You truly do come up with the best ( original & unique ) ideas. I simply loved the stencilled birds on the ceiling.
I'm usually "matchy matchy", but I really like your 3 mismatched lamp shades together.
The room is so pretty. Love the antiquing wax and the birds on the ceiling. The black paint really does elevate the door!
Love the mismatched shades idea. Reminds me of flowers
Love the mud room. The glass shades are very nice together.
Thank you! 🤗
I love that lamp and I would definitely use different glass shades because each is its own work of art. Your laundry room would make doing laundry a relaxing chore for sure. Every idea today was something anyone could achieve. Thanks, Sherry!
Wow, just a few changes makes a big difference!!
I loved seeing a picture hung beneath the chair rail in your foyer. I hung a large framed photo under my bathroom window. It was the only space large enough for it, and the first thing I see when entering. I have a coastal bathroom, and my daughter took the photo of a dugout canoe on the beach in Tanzania, which reminds me of a childhood experience I had.
That is awesome! I love how your picture evokes memories (and an interesting story), and you hung it in an interesting spot, too!
I love the unexpected. So I love the mismatched shades, but I really love the ceiling stencils! Birds are a them throughout my house, before I started watching your channel. I will be looking for a bird stencil now for sure.
You did small projects, but they have a big impact. Beautiful as always.
Thank you so much, Shelly! The stencils I used are from Cutting Edge stencils.
I painted all of my interior doors black during the Pandemic and I absolutely LOVE them. Very classic, very English, and very elevated.
Can I just say I love the black. Everyone well, not everyone but a lot of us are afraid to use black because we feel like it is going to make a space too dark or feel smaller but it is just the opposite. After watching you I finally took the plunge and painted my doors black when I put the first coat on the first door. I thought oh no what have I done 😲but I have learned over the years to complete a project before judging and to realize it is just paint and it can be painted over if you hate it. I did not hate it ha ha ha I loved it, and I have gotten so many compliments.
Thank you for helping me boldly go where I would have never gone before ( Star Trek reference intended )😄
I would definitely use miss matched lamp shades.
Since we build, yes we love stenciling on ceilings! I LOVE your birds and stencils! Your green is very pretty and YEA I’m a gold girl too! Always have been!
I would also use mismatched lampshades! Love it.
I have refreshed many piano and sitting benches over the years. I don’t have any upholstery skills but these are SUPER simple to do,wrap around and staple! Some of my classiest yet inexpensive fabrics from the thrift store have been from custom drapes. Some designer suggested raw silk to their clients and now I’m buying the panels for a dollar each! (Even one odd, lone panel goes a long way.) 🤭🙌🏻
The green light was beautiful before and now it is even more beautiful with the antiquing wax, who would have thought! You have a wonderful touch, everything you do is just perfect and inspirational.
Love the shelf above the window frame. Great idea for displaying decor items in a small space.
As always Sherry, I love your decorating style. I am not sure in a room if I would mix lamp shades but I would do it in a hallway!! I love the birds on the ceiling! And I loved the antique wax on the birdcage. I'm sad to hear ANYONE criticizes you for not using real plants or anything else. Keep being you! We love you for your unique style and amazing tips! Your friend in PA~ ❤❤❤❤❤❤🐦🐦🐦🐦🐦🐦🐦🐦🐦🐦
I have a -1000 ability to Decorate anything!!! I absolutely love everything you touch and all I can say is I wish so much that I could just bring you to my atrocity of a house and let you have free range to do whatever you want!! I think that will be a bucket list for me!! ❤I ❤❤
LOVE the mismatched shades in your laundry light. Also the gold birds on light and ceiling. Genius ideas! 👍
Love the mismatched shades!
The laundry room door painted black is excellent!
Mixing lampshades is a definite yes for me! 😊
Beautiful! and I love what you did with those birds.. GORGEOUS!!!
Love the mismatched shades idea. So clever!! The birds on the ceiling looks so beautiful!!
LOVE the mismatched shades!
Those hobby lobby knobs!!! The mismatched lamp shades !! The ceiling birds!! ❤ (my only complaint, please actually attach the shelf brackets to the window frame, that's an accident waiting to happen)
I love that you put the antiquing wax on the gold birds. That did the trick!
Oh I love the stenciled birds on the ceiling ❤️ it’s all about the details
LOVE the stenciled birds on the ceiling!!
Loved the light fixture with the mismatched shades, 100 percent better than matching
I've stenciled on a ceiling before and it was a spectacular success. I did the corners with a French inspired pattern and it elevated a simple guest bedroom that became my Mom's bedroom and she loved it.
the flying swallows are the greatest !
I’m always looking for unique ways to decorate my home and I love the idea of the mismatched glass shades. It’s a perfect touch that showcases the vintage style I admire so much! Thanks for the idea❤😊
I love the mud room, it’s so inviting with the green. The decorations look beautiful. And I think the three different lamp shades is an awesome idea! Great work Sherry! 👍🥰❤️
Love how you redid your bathroom cabinets and I like all the things you did in your laundry room. I don't have a laundry "room" it is off the garage so it is not big, I call it my laundry "closet".
Back un the day, when stenciling was the MUST for home decor 1994ish-my sister stenciled a garden on an arched wall in my new house. Part of the hollihocks and some other flower continued up to the top of the arch. She added butterflies ,if I'm memberinf correctly, flying birds in clouds. The wall and arch are about 24" wide. It was a really fun housing warming gift. She was so creative. 😊
Love the birds stenciled on the ceiling!
I like the vintage lamp with birds with and without antiquing wax. Love the stenciled birds. Thanks for the tip about Pixie spray. I have never stenciled the ceiling but I have stenciled leaf patterns in gold on the bathroom walls where we had removed old towel hooks and a very long towel bar. I didn't have matching paint to cover so I painted a small white rectangle and stenciled the leaf on top of that. The mudroom redo is lovely. You have created a magical home.
Love the miss matched shades love the dark blue and love the black!!!
Oh, thank you, Joleen!
Sherry, I love the mismatched lampshades and I also love the bird stencils and I like the wax on the lamp, but I would have left birds gold. I love watching your makeovers.
I love the birds on the Ceilng & wall! Love the Antiquing on the bird chandelier also!❤❤
I would certainly use mismatched shades in my home! They'd go well with my mismatched kitchen chairs😅
Love that!
love the mis-matched lights, and the birds are brilliant!!!
It looks great! You are a fantastic carpenter. I love that you admitted forgetting the measurements, I do, too.
I love those glass lamp globes & yes, I’d do that, too.
The green is pretty & thanks for the science lesson about green. I love, love the ceiling birds and I like the light pendant either way but I personally would have left it plain or used white wax.
Love you ideas!
Sherry, you manage to make everything look fabulous and effortless! Amazing!
This is brilliant. Not surprised about it at all. You always come up with great changes that can be mixed & matched & reused later! Clever!!
Loved this video 🎉
You’re magical 👑
Mismatching the shades was a great idea!! Really fits your style too! What a cute idea!!
I loved the antiquing wax on the green light fixture - and the birds on the ceiling and wall. So unique.
I loved you mismatched shades. I love using shades like that with a colored votive glass and candle in them; the colors are luscious! I like your use of faux plants. I love plants and flowers but have black thumbs. A quick swish through soapy water brings things back to life. The only houseplants I have left are the kind that can stand being 3x a week OR go for 3 weeks without watering!!!
Loved this idea, Sherry. Such a nice way to occupy yourself, freshen up your home and feel good. And of course share it with us. I’m going to see this again and again though I’ll not be able to follow you entirely as we are in India with different structural builds. But I can try different things after my soon-to-be renovated kitchen is in place!
Nice, loved the mixed glass shade! I love green so loved the makeover
Great job Sherry!love every single project!
Love the green color you ended up with! Love your ideas, sweet friend!😍
Everything you do is magic and amazing!!!! I love the mismatched light fixtures.
Yes I love the lamp shades. You are a breath of fresh air to my decorating soul....
You are my absolut favorite youtuber 😍 Love almost everything you do 🤗
I love everything you do. Choosing 3 different shades is so unexpected it’s crazy good. It makes me feel so comfortable and happy. Thanks for sharing your ideas ❤
Love the black door! I have been painting my golden oak trim black. I agree it’s classy, classic and hides a multitude of flaws!
3 different vintage glass shades…brilliant!
Yes!!! To the mismatched shades, I'm also loving the window over window idea and the addition of the shelf and brackets is perfect for extra space to display items.
Thank you, Constance! 😊
Great ideas and love the different light covers I think also the antique wax on the birds look better too. This birds on the ceiling is such a great idea. Great video.
I want that mud room! There is not one thing I would change! I’m loving the black doors! You are amazing!
Oh, Terri, you are so sweet! I wish I had a video of converting the closet to that open space. I bought a reciprocating saw and used it for the first time to remove some boards! (There were a couple times when I thought I might have gotten in over my head!)
For bench cushions where I don't want to use zips, I make a big version of a pillow fold - with the 'pocket' or flap to keep the contents in place. I make sure this is on the lower side of the seating pad and is deep enough to hold things firmly. That way there is no need to unpick and resew for washing. As you say, if it is in an alcove or against the arms/ends of a seat, the opening never shows. Love your upgrades!
Sherry - just loved the non-matching lamp shades! No fear!
Loved all of the updates, but the birds on the ceiling was a stellar idea! Thanks, Sherry, and have a great week ahead!!
Thank you! You too!
Love the laundry room window. I don't think anyone is even going to notice the mismatched loght shades !
I love the three different style light shades, they look great. I liked the original green colour of the light so I'd have only toned down the brightness of the birds.
I love the birds and the dark wax
Everything is beautiful! Love your decor!
Your whimsical imagination always amazes me ❤
