It's so crazy to hear about Sister Ping as she really did help a lot of people in Ma Wei province have a better life. You can still feel the ripple today as a lot of the owners of Chinese take-outs out of state were the ones that asked for Ping's assistance as they mostly work as a chef sending money back to China to family and paying off smuggling debt (If I remember correctly it was $50,000). Very educating to hear background stories of how her operations while listening to you guys talking about Chinatown's past since I grew up there in the late 1990s and was wondering what had happened.
It surreal to see that Mike was definitely whom I remember growing up seeing a lot as the few Asian Cops in NYPD when going to Elizabeth center/Internet Cafe by 28 Elizabeth St. Same for Justin who used to regularly hang out at Chinatown Fair who is now a fighting game content creator on UA-cam.
After near 20 years, I finally started to have a vague idea now of why I got kicked out of Chinatown Fair out of the blue one day while just quietly playing Golden Axe by the entrance. The clerk had near bruise eyes during that period so maybe it was gang related.

My suggestion for future documentaries is to use clips from the Chinese interviews whenever necessary. I know it's alot of work to subtitle them, but should be worth it with shorter clips for these documentaries. Not saying this one needed that, but just in the future, if you have Chinese interviews that better get the point or information across, definitely use them. Keep up the great work guys.

My Mom told me a story how back in the day her and her cousins were driving by Riis Beach back in Farrockaway and night and a swarm of naked Asians came scattering all over the streets. People thought they were crazy until the documentary on Sister Ping came out
There should be a book turned into a documentary in which turned into a TV show or a movie
My dads friend was called Harry the horse. These names were amazing. Even when they were in their 80s they called each other by those names. Harry the horse and my dad was called the Italian stallion 😂
