Great interview! I concur with Fat Tiger- not all sit downs are organized as the media and police portrays. Maybe the Italian Mafia, but not in C-town. Asian culture is different. It’s like hanging out with a group of friends and talking. Lol! As you can tell Pell St. was one boring block at that time. Needed to migrate to another section of Chinatown. Not surprised! That’s what makes Chinese Americans gangs known for; when it comes to doing a job, they just make it happen and move on. Again, not as glorified as the media and police portrays.
Have you guys seen what’s happening with the Oakland mayor, the recycling company family, and the son who owns the KTV music cafe? Wouldn’t want you to speculate on ongoing events, but would love to hear about any similar things going on back in the day
