Many trainers tell players to square their feet to the basket but I do remember hearing online about a famous trainer teaching guys in the NBA like Paul P, Kobe, and some other NBA players. Can't recall the coach who taught but I've definitely heard that before. The reason they do that is because the coach said something like, "When a boxer is punching, they don't square their feet to the opponent, they take a hard step and then punch and then they're body turns sideways." Same for a jumpshot.
I suppose I can :P Don't expect it to be uploaded super quick though, lol. The reason I used practice shots was because if I used in-game shots, it would be Kobe trying to get shots over other players and not broadcasting his actual shooting form. I'll find time to do it though. :P
I'll try, but I just finished editing a new video and it will be uploaded on the weekend. I've been asked that question before but I'm not sure why everyone wants in game jump shots. I only take the clips of when they're in practice because it actually details the form because the players are relaxed and just trying to use proper mechanics.
I know the arm will be fully extended(like straight) eventually but what really my concern is does his arm go from ">" shape to "l" shape or just simply elevate, like pushing it into the air. But thanks for the comment anyways.
I personally love D-Rose's form, lol. But we'll see man, we'll see. Lmfao, I'm so backed up on requests, people are telling me to do, Carmelo's, Rose's, Durants, etc. I'm only doing the shooting form videos when I have free time and no videos I wanna upload. Like I just uploaded a 'How to Jump Higher' video yesterday which is pretty funny, lol. Check it out and I definitely will try on the Derrick Rose video since I wanna see that too.
I made this video in 2011 and while I was finding clips, Miami and LA were playing and the Lakers lost to them so Kobe was shooting at their court after the game.
When Kobe moves his legs forward in a jumpshot it's very natural. Because his momentum is going forward, hence his legs will too. Many players do this too (if not all), but you can definitely notice Kobe's. For example, look at Dwyane Wade. Since he has so much balance in his jumpshot his legs don't move as far or look nearly the same as Kobe's. If you wanna compare then check out my other video "Dwyane Wade's Shooting Form - HD." Thanks for watching! :D
I can try BUT don't expect it to come like SUPER soon. If I finally have enough time to gather the clips, edit, and post it on UA-cam that would take about a MONTH. D: Yeah, it'll take a while since a lot of other people are asking me to make other players versions of this video like Kevin Durant, Drose, etc. Subscribe though so you know when I upload it! :D
Yeah I love his form too man =) and ofcource, finish all the requests first, then, if you have the time, make the vid. Take your time =) and okay, i will check out the vids, you just got a sub from me, i love your vids man, keep up the great work!
@yoderr24 @baseguitar02 @Junior Bishop @XxKN4xX @davidsr4 @tsak14 Attention to all users who have given me suggestions on other shooting forms of NBA players. I have been working on the following forms: Carmelo Anthony, Kevin Durant, Shawn Marion, Chris Paul, and Kobe Bryant (in-game Shooting form). Sorry for keeping you guys waiting for almost 2 months! But I will have all of them uploaded soon. (Maybe like 1 video every 1-2 weeks. Subscribe to get updated!
Video downloader is not working properly... I've been trying and then suddenly about a week ago it stopped working? I'll try to fix it and then make that. I've been helping my friend make videos for his channel.
hey question..when i see kobe take shots hes body position when he jumps is kind of side ways..is that supposed to help with aiming..i also see Paul P. and Dwyane W. do it..so is it aiming help or something like that
I just uploaded a new video go check it out! And I'll put Allen Iverson on my list! Right now, I'm working on Derrick Rose's shooting form and it'll be uploaded in 1-2 days.
Kobe's arm does extend in his form, everyone's jumpshot should have their arm extended so the defense cannot block or alter your shot. It's a fundamental to shooting, only players with poor form like Shawn Marion don't extend their arms in a jumpshot.
Guys if you're born in the 80's and probably seen MJ play and if you look at this video now and compare the jumpshort form, obviously Kobe wants to be like Mike.. he copied it.. try this: search UA-cam for Michael Jordan jumpshots, regular jumpshots, free throws and fadeaways and do the same thing with kobe.. now slomo them and remember this, focus on the shooting hand (right hand) and the off hand( left hand) , before and after releasing the ball.. looks exactly the same right?
Yeah but you know Ray Allen dosn't extend his arm fully too. It's all a matter of practice and staying with your form and not changing it all the time.
its hard tryna copy somebodys form correctly. if you want to have a smooth shot like kobe, then SHOOT lmaoo like bagillion times in practice. the more you shoot, the more your form looks buttery. its natural :)
@6971969801 Sure, if you still want the video. I could make one if you'd like. Sorry for the super late response by the way. Do you still want me to make one?
the only difference is, MJ had bigger hands, and the release of the ball is much quicker. those wide palms are gifts every basketball players wish they had. Mj can manipulate the ball with either hands. mid air ball fakes, palming it on a bounce etc. cradle dunks.. i'm sure kobe wish they had them too.. but anyway Kobe is blessed for being able to copy most if not all of mike's jumpshots.. Mj would still dominate though
ScatTeam_Djr Yo u think my shooting form is a 1 motion version of Kobe?? AirJordan23 deleted my shooting video, don't know why so i'll upload a newer one and u can analyze it.
Yeah, of course every basketball player will not have a fundamental jumpshot (even if they're the best shooter on the planet they still can make it work with their own rendition.) For example Kobe and Ray are definetely great shooters but still don't have perfect fundamental jumpers. They shoot with a form that's comfortable with themselves. You're actually one of the people who know what they're talking about :D. Lolol.
oh i remember this...this was just pathetic on kobe's part...lakers lost bcuz kobe missed a clutch shot so he has to show the media "oh look at me i hate losing so now im gonna stay & practice to show that i hate losing"

kobe has a beautiful jumpshot. nothing more can be said.

kobe is so ambitious and motivated, he trains hours after the loss to improve
Beautiful form R.I.P. Mr☆Bryant , your beautiful daughter and the 9 others whom lost there lives.
damn now i got the kobe form
His release point is right above his forehead, elite jumpshot form right there.
When he makes it , it's so on point , NETS !
For every shot you see, there's a thousand you don't.
Kobes form looks like a fadeaway even when he doesnt shoot a faedaway
I suppose I can :P Don't expect it to be uploaded super quick though, lol. The reason I used practice shots was because if I used in-game shots, it would be Kobe trying to get shots over other players and not broadcasting his actual shooting form. I'll find time to do it though. :P
so glad i learned to shoot

Does his arm elevate or extend when he shoots? Plzzz reply :(
the trick is to shoot a lot with the right technique
it was after the lakers lost to heat and he went out right after the game to work on his shot .on the road so he doesnt have much time to work

I just uploaded a new video go check it out! And I'll put Allen Iverson on my list! Right now, I'm working on Derrick Rose's shooting form and it'll be uploaded in 1-2 days.

Easy,u move your leg up and hold the front space...that's mean your opponents often have problem to reach you (and eat some kicks too )
OMG THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!! lol no need to say sorry =D

Could you upload a video of Carmelo Anthony's form?
You can't do Shawn Marion's form. It's a legendary form.
Yeah but you know Ray Allen dosn't extend his arm fully too.
It's all a matter of practice and staying with your form and not changing it all the time.
so what was the reason that cavs were winning?
its okay take your time...i am telling you cuz in the game he shoots different its like his legs leaning more...
its hard tryna copy somebodys form correctly. if you want to have a smooth shot like kobe, then SHOOT lmaoo like bagillion times in practice. the more you shoot, the more your form looks buttery. its natural :)
