He's really got the prettiest shot, ever.
I agree
+Tommy Cruz His shot is considered nearly unstoppable because he jumps to his peak before he gets off a shot
his releasing point is higher than normal players making it so hard to block
One of the most smooth and perfected jumpshots in NBA.
Love that u watched and commented twice
@@diezombie6738 yeah, I never get tired watching Kobe. Man it sucks he's not here with us anymore. Still, in my eyes he's the greatest player to ever play the game. I grew up watching him play.
Long live mamba
Perfected maybe but far from smoothest. His high set point prevented him from being an elite three point shooter. He has a slight pause in his shot too. Still incredible but his shooting form is a bit outdated.
@@DoctorJammer Child, learn the art of the mid range and the advantages to a high release point. Steph is waiting for his weekly schlobbing from you. Go check the tape, Kobe was assaulting Klay and Steph on a nightly basis.
The most beautiful shooting form.
Agreed
+Michael yeahh
Ray Allen
+slipknoterman true but the way kobe shoots is magical
Ray Ray all day
time to practice...
agreed 👌
we talkin about practice
Yes we talking about practice 😂
when i practiced this i became obsessed this shot is addicting..
his form is just like jordans. its scary
+TJ Not really. He's adjusted his shot to give him more space and easier to draw fouls. In Jordan's era, the rules were different. What would be considered a foul today wouldn't really be considered a foul back then.
It's who he got it from
***** Yes
It's way different Jordan has that Ray Allen follow through he doesn't really flick his wrist and he shoots from his chest Kobe as in this video the setpoint is his above head
Auston David Johnson um fuck off
I find it interesting that Kobe releases the ball with his index finger, despite the fact that he holds the ball with the "V" formation. Personally, I love his shooting form.
He changed due to breaking his finger.
@@diezombie6738 to an index finger or from and what was his other release?
@@Jack51161 i heard that he used split finger instead of index originally, then middle finger after the injury
@@dickdad3297 Well if he was splitting before the injury he would have been using his ring and pinky finger. So he could have just changed it to index and middle if that were the case
He basically emulated Michael Jordan’s shooting form.
:47 I'll never forget Kobe making that big shot on Barnes with the jersey in the mouth. Kobes done Barnes good multiple times
Afrobe Bryant everything he does is beautiful
Makes me cry how beautiful this is.
I like how you explain his shooting form in small details which is excellent, I am going to examine this video repetitively and mimic most of Kobe Bryant's shot. Splash Lab thanks.
It's really hard to mimic his shot but it's worth it if you do. Don't shoot threes with his form tho, only midrange and close to basket.
@@shayanasif8108 what shot form do i learn to shoot 3s

hi
Mamba out
Best shooting form break down I’ve ever seen. Coaches should be showing this video in camps and practice. Thanks for a great video.
Thank you Kobe Bryant 1996-2016 this is his playing career
W8 KOBE'S DEAD? WHAAAAAAAAAAT!
+Tylerfucking1! he isn't that's his playing career

Can u please do kyrie irvings!!!!
Thanx..and great job like always
yes do kyrie's shooting form
Jiradz eat veggies
Kyrie's shooting form is really similar as kobe's,but the differences are that the kyries elbow sticks out in the front on the right side and the ball is lower near the right eye.
Reply if I am not right
I hope I helped
Pretty solid and detailed breakdown of Kobe's Jumpshot.
It's hard if your not strong enough
It's hard coz the ball feels heavy if u shoot it at your forehead or above
Masterof Ceremonies
fucking dumbasses. Kobes works for him 'cause of his freakishly wing-span, now unless you have something similar i'd suggest looking for your own style.
Internet Explorer you the real dumbass here a lot of kobe's power is raw muscle that's why there is not much arc on his shot
Sweep ur feet forward, it will help.
It's actually not that hard if you're closer to the rim. Turnaround jump shots are easy with Kobe's form. But you should try to do what's comfortable to you.
Kobe's Dead I'm so sad
I have a request, don't ever use this song again
it's a great song...
Adrian Grant
i disagree but it's also used on a million other videos..gets annoying.
RahulPresentsKobe what's the name of this song
awsomestyle 3795 remember the name fort minor
Nate Rivers Mike Shinoda is such an underrated rapper...Give him the little fame he gets
Kobe form look like MJ but it not the same in all detail
ณัฐภัทร เกียรติกังวาฬไกล yeah Kobe tends to fade more and his shooting arm is fully stretched at release while jordans isn't
Great vid, I'm a Kobe fan and his form has always been more aesthetically pleasing than other players to me. One thing I think is worth mentioning is at the 1:20 mark when talking about his difficult shots. I suck at explaining but he uses his right leg as something like an anchor where he intentionally swings it to maintain balance. I do the same thing and it allows me to make very difficult shots. It comes naturally but if some people don't do it it may help.
He does this because his body is moving one direction, hence his leg sways; this counterbalances his body so that he can square to the basket and shoot.
i noticed that too and do the same thing. i’m obviously no kobe but i’m the ‘shot creator’ mid range guy when we go to the gym and i hit difficult shots pretty consistently. the leg swing is hella effective cuz you can use it as a guide for your hip elbow shoulder alignment and as a balancing agent like you said. his form is 🔥🔥🔥
Wow, that was by far the most in depth and also legitimate breakdown for a shooting form I've seen.
Big respect.
His shooting form is just beautiful, even all the way to how he drops his arms after the release.
When Kobe's shooting skill is exactly the one I take, that's a near 95%+ shooting when doing the normal practicing daily...
This will be really hard to copy, the two motion thing, feels unnatural at first and requires a lot of hang time and arm strength. Also, the flatter arc makes things harder too. It's more a shot designed to rise over defenders than to simply make it. Probably worth developing since he obviously shoots over anybody.
I'm not convinced about the index finger dominance. It looks to me like the index finger is down because it leaves the ball before the middle finger. Set it to slow mo and watch at 4:51
That looks middle finger dominant to me. It's interesting because at 4:59 where you pause it and insert the arrow, I thought, "Oh, no that's index dominant" but then his hand continues to turn and he releases off the middle again.
I’d argue he’s a split same with mj. The wide v is kind of a dead giveaway that he’s a split finger shooter something that mj does as well. But I see why you say middle finger dominance
Being a Kobe for almost 19 yrs. His shooting form is the most pleasing one to watch. Just very very smooth.
And we all know Kobe is almost a carbon copy of MJ. Occasionally I do spot some differences between the two, but most of the time, they are almost identical.
I'd love to see the same analysis on MJ, so we can see some subtle differences.
He's one of the easiest in NBA 2ks. coz I know when to release when shooting haha.
Knowing that its 8 years ago, it is amazing and helpful
Before you do any others..plz do Kyrie Irving own......I've been waiting for it for a very long time
He changed form over the years... I don't know how much sense it has to make a video like this
hey Splash Lab, i was wondering if you could do a klay Thompson Shooting form Video? he has one of the best and prettiest shooting form ever and actually is a very good shooter... i would really love it! thank you.
+Splashlab if you pause the video at 5:04 you can see that Kobe is a Middle finger shooter. or do I see this wrong? Please reply.
+Shake'N Bake Buckets It means the finger pointing towards the basket, and the finger that is down the most. In everybody's shot, the middle finger, because it's the longest finger will come off the middle finger last.
+Shake'N Bake Buckets You see it wrong. He uses his thumb and his index finger to guide the ball, while the other 3 fingers(including his middle finger) are used to follow through
In a few of the clips where it looks like its coming off his middle finger, he has tape on his index. For a while, when his index finger was hurt, it seems like it was coming off of his middle finger more than his index but in general I think he is more of an index finger shooter. Hope that helps!
Splash Lab Great explanation!
his off hand is in a really weird position on the ball. he says that's his comfort spot, but when I try to do it, it hurts my wrist. His shot is really unique
I always copying his shooting form but its so damn hard 😂😂😂😂
Yes it is. You must be athletic to copy this and you must have the arm power to overcome blocks.
Kobe bryant my favorite player i look up to him i always wanted to play like him when im i the nba
Can you do Klay Thompson ?
Yee
Thanks 👌
Yeah klay thompson has a nice form i would definitely want to see you analyze his form
Splash Lab I find Gordon Hayward could have a good shot to try and replicate, if anything curious as to how he stacks up against Kobe and Curry (and Clay).
+ThatSkaterJustice he's never going to do it.
What happens when you shoot with a "V" with your index and middle finger?
What does it help in?
Shofiqul Alom It can help get the weight of the ball on the index finger (for index finger shooters)
Splash Lab what was the back ground music used in this video? I really need to know, cool video by the way
Dean Michezson Espinosa remember the name - fort minor
Tobias Kraft thanks bro, i appreciate it ヽ(^。^)ノ
If ur a index finger shooter than it just helps to make sure the ball is dominated with the index finger
RIP Kobe Jan 26, 2020
Can u do kyrie Irving's thx
Can you Aomine Daiki's Shooting form? :3
Kyrie Irving or Durant next plssss!!!
P.S. You're awesoome!!! You go so much in details like no other. Thx and also the video with Curry equaly great as this one!
I have to watch this 30+ times BaByFaced Assassin
Scatteam_djr ??
Scatteam_djr Oh I see man. LOL
***** Yo remember that fat guy dunking. Smh he can because he is so tall and the rim is like 9'10.
Please analyze Shawn Marion's shooting form, that would be priceless.
Can you analyze Micheal Jordans shot please
I vote for Michael too!!
me also
MJ and Kobe have very similar shots. They are jump shooters.
lockmat9 FYI ! Kobe Copied michael jordan shooting FORM !!
AIR JORDAN salty?
It’s funny because you would think that Kobe shooting “flat” was really a thing, but it’s not. He had probably 30 release points depending on the defender. Watch tape of him high post shooting on LeBron. Rainbows. I honestly feel like when he shot flat it was just to get the ball from point A to B as quick as possible. “Gotcha” “back on D”
Even though his shot isn’t fundamentally correct, TO ME it’s still the most beautiful, most elegant, smooth shooting form I’ve ever seen. A lot of people shoot and they look a bit stiff and awkward, but not Kobe..
Just can’t explain it man, but no one can shoot like him, they can try tho
I know this is a shooting channel but I'd also love to see some ball handling breakdowns as well. Unless someone can refer me to a channel that does that as well as this one could.
ShotMechanics you're welcome:)
^ ShotMechanics is an excellent resource for ball handling and shooting.
Hi Splash Lab! May I request a breakdown for Michael Jordan's shooting form? I am looking for so many months for someone to analyze MJ's form. I like the way on how you had analyzed Kobe's form and for me it's great! I hope that you can do it. Thanks a lot. I can't really wait to watch it!
I can see u becoming like a proshot or shooting mechanics kind of guy and channel !! keep up the good work
man for real?? elliot ? OMG!!!!!! kidding me! thought I misclicked some vids on the sideeeee
the most beautiful form, with carmelo anthony
I wanna see Steve Nash, Kyle Korver, Klay Thompson, Ray Allen, Glen Rice, and Kyrie Irving. Great videos man!
Daniel K I also started emulating Kobe Bryant's shot form. I am getting it down and consistently studying his shot, by watching this whole video 2x every day.
its better to use whatever you find comfortable and train that
Study the sweep and sway to get more arc. Kobe shot is 2 motion, so does Ray Allen cus they jump very high.
Jeremy Argha Thanks I got it down now my shot is now a 2 motion and more similar to Zach Lavine than Kobes. I put the ball right at my forehead not above it.
Student of Kobe24 no problem, my man.
Hi Splash Lab! May I request a breakdown about Michael Jordan's shooting form? I like the way on how you analyze Kobe's form and I am hoping that you can also make another for Michael Jordan :) Thanks!
Hey Splash Lab . I have a question , does Kobe keep a ball only on fingertips ?
The Best Shooting Forms
1) Michael Jordan 23 🐐
2) Kobe Bryant 24
3) Devin Booker 1
4) Klay Thompson 11
5) JJ Redick 4
6) Steve Nash 13
7) Drazen Petrovic 3 🇭🇷
🇰🇷23
WHERE IS STEPH CURRY??!?!?!?!?
Can you make a video of LeBron too? I wanna see how ugly his shots are in details.
I just tried the "v" release
And i think when kobe shoots he is actually using with three fingers( thumb, index, middle) and he shoots with 2 (index, middle) or sometimes one( index)
It gives me control to the shot because of the "v" there is space between his hand and the ball.
Something I've always noticed about Kobe's shot that wasn't touched on here in the video is that at the end of his release, once the ball is out of his hands. His thumb and index finger touch, like if someone was grabbing a pinch of salt. I tried doing this and It really helped the accuracy of my shot.
Thx this really helped !!
it takes so much effort but looks divine
This form really works rip to the mamba I really can’t believe I shoot like him it’s an honor 🙏🏼
Michael Jordan is only person who has a little prettier form than Kobe even they are almost the same😅
He can't get block if his elbow is very high above his head. agree?
Great job man. One of the things you "missed" was that the shoulders going back adds arc to the shot (sweep and sway), and for me to find that as the only issue is nit-picking. Great video and breakdown man. Keep up the good work.
RIP Kobe and Gigi💛💜
Definitely the most mechanically sound player after MJ.
love him miss him ripl(Rest in peace legend
RIP KOBE😭😭
Really good shooting form.
Greatest form ever idc
My idol.. bebe lester
Love this analysis. New subscriber here 💕
RIP KOBE
you can see shane battier tried to block kobe's eyes so he cant see the rim but kobe is the best he make impossible to possible
make a J.R. Smith shooting form video
Keep up the great work man!
OMG! I have been shooting like Kobe but didn't know that! Awesome!
Defensive posture. Proper way to defend in an iso situation when the person is driving to the hoop.
Great work!
You should really do a video on set points. It would be fantastic. Thanks for all the great videos.
Note: the sweep and sway used to get more arc.
Great content and great editing! Keep up the good work!
Splash Lab please do Klay thompson and michael jordan Shooting Form Plss Tnx
I'm a left hand shooter but i can still copy this, thanks
watch Derek Fisher and manu ginobli
He has the most beautiful shooting form, maybe only Jordan can compare.
wish you could do a Jordan one
How to be good at basketball step 1 practice step 2 work out step 3 eat healthy step 4 shoot like this video tells you
Kevin Durant, Kyle Korver, Reggie Miller, Dirk Nowitzki, Ray Allen, Jamal Crawford shooting form, and Allen Iverson crossover.
Hey man you said you are going to post every week and it's been 2 months lol. You have a lot of catching up and these shooting forms should keep you busy lol. Loving the videos. Keep it up
Textbook correct form
Nobady talks about the old shooters or the shooters that arnt that famous, Dequan Cook for example former miami heat player, Maybe study his form or maybe Peja, And Bibby.
R u sure Kobe is not a palm shooter because in most clips it shows the ball touching his palm
Yea he actually does make an effort to have a wide base around the ball to make sure it stays off his palm
The difference is how much of the palm covers the ball. Kobe has a big gap, but the ball is touching the front half of his palm.
Rami Ghazi what the music?
Kevin Dragon fort minor
Old head here. Here is Jordan hop stepping into his pull up in the 92 Finals: ua-cam.com/users/shortsirSAYVevaQU He actually hop stepped quiet a few times during 93 and 96-98.
Kobe had just about a 7' wingspan. You may not be able to copy his shot cause he got crazy levers to shoot over his head and at weird angles. It is a magnificent jumper though.
First:You,yourselves are Kobe
Second:If you don‘t fulfill the requirements on top, don't try
I have one probleam with my jump shoot i cant reach the 3 point because my hand is upside of my head i dont know what i must do.Maybe i need gym because my jump shot is weird
His form is so nice
Pro-Shot and other channels say great shooters follow the ball on the shot, but Kobe watches the rim? Does one provide certain advantages over the other?
Every time I see Mamba land predominantly on his left foot after a shot I can only think about the achilles tear that prematurely ended his career. Kobe “Black Mamba” Bryant one of the greatest to ever do it.
You taught a lot and you're very careful but like raise our hand up like 45 degree then when we jump we our setpoint right ?
rip kob man
kobe has a magnetude of shots he also started shooting the ball from very deep u have to be strong to shoot like Kobe and in shape else u get tired just trying to shoot like him in the mid range u would make a airball trying to shoot from that far and ur legs weak strong legs splash
