I'm a longhaired gay guy, and oh, boy, if you knew... Most gay men HATE long hair, because only short hair counts as masculine to them. So yeah, you don't see longhaired gay guys around.

dave’s hair is my hair goals. It’s been short since i’ve been in school. like kindergarten and i’m now a senior and it’s never been past my shoulders. I’ve always wanted it long but i’ve bleached it because i hated the way i looked too with acne and everything like that. and no it’s still dyed but it’s growing and I hope it can get longer without looking bad. The reasoning they always gave us was "It's a distraction to others." Meanwhile, the only way it ever halted anyone from learning was when the teacher felt the impulsive need to point it out.
Not that there was much gender-specific dress code at my school. It was mostly a universal rule about dying your hair unnatural colors or wearing trenchcoats.

only wash what touches your scalp, just rinse the rest of it. Biosilk or another good quality leave in conditioner. never use the same shampoo twice in a row (as in each wash, I keep four different shampoos and rotate each wash) Brush it often, wash it no more than twice a week. and of course make sure to get the ends trimmed often ... at least every three or four years.
