I love men with long hair, for me, it is just SO much more attractive. Only really gorgeous men look attractive to me with short hair. I think the bad reactions come from people who are very conformist and are bothered by long hair because it doesn't match their stereotypes of what a "real man" should look like. And it just annoys me so much when I hear people who automatically assume that long hair is "dirty"... (Especially if it comes from a long-haired woman. I'm like... Seriously, you're a woman, you have long hair, are YOU dirty?) I think one thing I like about long hair is that first, it has more personality. Short hair is so common, and it kind of hides the specificity of your hair (the colour, the texture, is it curly or wavy or straight...). I like diversity. I'm sure some guys don't even KNOW what their hair is like. Also, it simply complements most faces in an advantageous way. Short hair requires a really pretty face, which most people just don't have (you do, you looked good with short hair as well). I think what attracts me the most about long hair is that it shows how comfortable a guy is with their masculinity and who they are. It suggests to me that they can take the stupid criticism long-haired men get, they can have the confidence to look "unusual", and they can say "fuck conformity and silly social norms", and just be themselves, and that's really attractive to me. And yeah, maybe it looks more "wild" and more "sexual", I don't know... I wouldn't say it is the main appeal to me, though. And I definitely don't see long-haired men as less serious or reliable, on the contrary.
Absolutely love this comment. I can definitely say my personality, self confidence and individuality have massively improved since growing my hair. I really like your point about people assuming that long hair is dirty just because it's on a man, that is definitely not the case but I'd never considered that before
This was an awesome reply. Agree totally. I’m growing my hair at the moment (usually have it slightly longer anyway), but get compliments for it. Using lockdown as an excuse. I know how to style and look after it so that helps. I think that more guys should experiment. Long hair might get a bad reputation because some guys grow their hair and do nothing about it. There’s bad long hair styles and there are bad short hairstyles. It’s all about the person in the end and how you wear it.
@@alexorlandocross I have heard that our hair is like antennas that gives us a 6th sense, that's why we become as intuitive as women when we grow our hair. This could be related to our personality geting stronger. I used to have long hair(till the shoulders' length) from 16 to 19 years old, and I absolutelly loved it! Growing it back again at 21! Stay safe neighbour, seek God JESUS while there is time.
Much like how I have the unusual preference of women with body hair, it's not a deal breaker but I like people that are actually comfortable with their natural body.
@@alexorlandocross My Pleasure! I'd love to share this on the Man Buns & Manes IGTV account. Let me know if you'd be happy for me to do so and send the vid to hello@manbunsandmanes.com. I reckon the guys would enjoy this! Cheers.
I was actually planning to cut my hair.. But this vid reminded me why I grew it in the first place. I did because I wanted. It was my desire and preference. People's opinions don't matter as long as we're being true to ourselves.
@@sauviel6296 about 2 months ago I finally decided to cut it. I've experienced having a long hair for half a year and also half a year growing it. It was one of the fulfilling decisions I've had in my life. It really boosted my confidence and now I know what my personal style is. If you've never tried it before, you should.
Dude plzz dont cut em even I'm a long haired guy and seriously i get lot of attention from women.. We long haired guys look mysterious interesting badass many things
For younger long haired guys who think they get a lot of grief, just be glad you're not 70 years old. Talk about standing out! I turned 70 this year and almost no woman my age wants to date a guy with long hair. I've had long hair off an on all my life going back to the hippie days. I'm retired so I don't have to adhere to any dress or grooming code because of an employer. One of the nice things about getting older is you no longer care what others think. And at my age, I'm glad I still have a full head of hair to grow.
@@os8051 Wow! What I find interesting is you took the time and went to the effort to write this cheap shot about a stranger you know nothing about. That reveals more about your life than mine. And for that, I feel sorry for YOU.
Try putting in a bun, buns look great for any male with long hair. Maybe even braid it like a Viking to give you a very masculine vibe. You seem to have very straight hair like I do and one thing I never do is go out with my hair just completely down because my hair is very flat and has no volume so I just end up looking like Jesus lol.
@@Silenced_by_nazi_youtube , my hair is very straight but thick. I actually like my hair down. I wouldn't mind that Jesus look. But I don't have enough facial hair to grow a decent beard. Never have.
@@RicardoRoams no problem with that. However, I would suggest trying other hairstyles as well since you still have a lot of hair for your age, be versatile with it.
If somebody rejects you because of your hair, that means something's wrong with them and they most likely have some insecurity issues, that they need to overcome, just say'n...
not necessarily... people can have preferences about long or short hairstyles. What makes some one most likely insecure is when someone is straight up disrespectful about your long or short hair
@@lukasg9031 if it's the first time, you're seeing someone and you solely reject them, because of short or long hair, I wouldn't think it would have anything to do with the hair..... I personally think, it would go much deeper than that, psychologically that is, because it's just hair and why reject somebody, because the hair, is either too long, or too short..... To me, that's an excuse somebody gives themself, for either not talking to the person, or asking them out, or whatever it might be, for whatever reason and there are many, many reasons...
As a woman I personally am highly attracted to men with long hair ,(and as a conservative woman) A man can be a 6 but if he grows his hair out he automatically becomes a 7-9 for me Sometimes I even ask men I'm talking with if they ever want to grow there hair (witch is probably bad) But know that I find out that most woman who have my life style are not attracted to the same things as me I'm surprised(which sounds weird and close minded Haha but I just never gave a though two it and just assumed everyone else thought so two) When I see a man with long hair I don't see a unstable man Even as a woman who has conservative and traditional values So this video made me think why I like men with long hair and I think its because I like different and special things and not just mundane boring things I also see them as open minded, smart, adventurous and artistic. So from now on when I see a man with long hair I will have more respect for them because they a strong enough to be them self's Despite the backlash of main cultural standards I have more respect for men with long hair from know on.
I really like the open minded reference and I think that's very true. Really appreciate this comment and the appreciation for men with long hair. Keep asking the guys whether they have any plans to grow their hair
You're so right in all aspects of this topic. It's very attractive when a guy makes a decision on his own because he wanted to do it instead of growing his hair just to attract women. You'll definitely attract more open minded woman. I love that my man has long hair! We brush each other's hair, share elastics and take turns cleaning out the shower. 😊
Hello, I am a man with long hair. I did not find a woman who wanted to marry me. If there is a woman who wants to marry me, a man with long hair, welcome.
I'm glad I found your video. I'm 58 years old and a widower. My wife was my best friend, she's been gone almost 7 years now. She was a very free-spirited woman. She saw pics of me as a kid in the late 60s & the 70s w/ long hair and told me to follow my heart. Because of her encouragement, I started my first business, got my pilot's license, and yes, regrew my hair out! I've not dated anyone since she passed because I felt like it was cheating and maybe somehow disrespected her memory. Maybe I will date someone someday, who knows, but I'm not going to sweat it. It's good to know if I do "attract" someone, she'll is more down-to-earth like me. They say the average age men die at is around 75. So if I don't find someone- or more correctly, if they don't find me, it wont be a long drag .
Since growing my hair out and updating all of my pictures on dating apps showing off my long hair, the number of matches and type of women has actually gone up. Could be that I live in San Diego and seeing guys with long hair isn't so uncommon, but its been working great for me. Great video, you made great points.
After completing my gig in the Navy, I grew my hair to my waist, and have had it there since. Idiots in the medical field, I was a medical professional, harassed me until I quietly spoke to H.R. and offered to arrange a meeting with my lawyer for slander and harassment. I worked in southern California for forty years.
As a woman liking longhaired men, I honestly feel like: less competition around with those women who do not like longhaired men. All those women rejecting my boyfriend for not cutting his hair: I am gratefull to that. Just be yourself and you get the right match.
I've got hair nearly to my waist and it's very healthy. This guy just reenforces what I've known for 30 yrs. The women that are attracted to me are more fun and more real. And I'm usually the only long haired man In The room . If there is one woman that digs hair ,shes on me. It's worked for me.
I had long hair for a decade, then cut it 5 years ago when my first child was born. The reactions/comments I received when it was long, both positive and negative, were often extreme (once had a guy try to start a fight with me in a pub because of my long hair) I’m growing it back now, I’m about 10 months into the process. It came down to the fact that after I cut it I felt like I’d lost my identity, my individuality. Sure enough the ‘when are you going to get a haircut’ comments are back 😂, but I really couldn’t care less. I’ve not been this happy about my own appearance for five years.
Go ahead man.. grow your hair as long as you want..The right people will come to you no matter what..the type of close minded people who judge the others from how they look are making us a favor to stay away from their toxic area....much respect to you♡
12 months in my journey and loving it, there are tons of different styles to choose from with longer hair compared to short hair. I think your body type plays a big role too, example if you are muscular or not in terms of how others view you
Hi, Im from Chile and im growing my hair for over a year now. So, today i have this weird chat with my dad about my hair (he hates it), the thing is that when a person close to you says things believing that they are right or trying to help you, it just gets tiring after months and months of the same discussion. Im no mad at them, it just that i don't like to explain why im doing what im doing, people with short hair doesn’t explain a shit, do they? So having to show my dad that im not gay or wherever stupid thing i “look” like hahahaha its just terrible for my self esteem, today for the first time i was thinking in cutting it, and i don’t want to, thank you for that actually. I came here not for dating, for someone with long hair telling his experience, saying just the things that are occurring to me right now, so thank you, it means a lot for lots of people looking for this kind of guy. ♥️
I’m so glad that you got that from watching this. That’s definitely my experience too, even now people still tell me to cut it. If you want to cut it then do, but do it for your reasons and not for anybody else. Long hair is awesome despite what your dad says
I have grown my hair long in the past and I regret cutting it short..it probably would be down to my waist by now..don’t ever let a female tell you to cut it off..that will never never happen again..the long hair is here to stay..besides you stand out from the mediocre and show your virility.
Awesome video! My friends we're also mentioning about the same thing with polarization but the girls who like long hair have a stronger attraction. It's great to see someone else with similar experiences!
"I won't date a man who's got better hair than me" Ha ha ha!! Well, at least that's being honest about jealousy, and about acknowledging it themselves. :) However, there are always going to be people out there we'll look at and think they have something we wish we have, but just imagine if that guy you turned down due to hair could have been your life partner and you said 'no' due to something as petty as jealousy? Ah well! Guess he'll have to marry someone else. :)
This video was exactly what I wanted to see, real feedback and interesting analysis and thoughts. Kind of video we don’t find so often for this type of subject, awesome work thank you !
I think the majority of men we try to grow our hair out because we like the look, including me because long hair perfectly suits and compliments my face, especially when I tie it up,I instantly look more attractive and It gives me so so much confidence.I think it is a very minor issue when it comes to dating because hair is such a superficial thing and if you find that a particular girl does not like your hair it is her problem and not yours because at the end of the day you want to feel satisfied with yourself, that is all that matters!!
I've had long hair for years now. I'm happily married and don't care what any women say or think... however this is what I've noticed. Most females don't like long hair but the ones that do...they let you know it.
Lucky me I found your video! I was planning on cutting my hair. Actually I dont care what ppl think about it. But sometimes I get tired of hearing bad comments. On the other hand one person that always says good things about my hair is my daughter. She loves it.
That's basically my experience buddy, some women hate it, other women love it and as you said, they admire your hair but also your confidence, that's completely true
Going through the same thing right now. I actually love the polarizing aspect of it, gets you more dates! Fitting in to the mold does nothing for you, but make you blend in with the rest of the world.
I'm growing it out too, so many people asked me when i will get a haircut. Once through the awkward stage I received the first positive statements on my hair. At first I wasn't sure if it will suit me or if it will look feminine, bc I have bright blonde hair so might be.. Now I'm loving it, I definetly won't cut it xD
I feel this too. Cuz if covid I decided to grow my hair out since I’ll be inside mostly anyways. After lockdown and some family would come to visit, they’d always ask when I’m getting a haircut 😩. It made me feel so self conscious cuz I thought they’re saying that cuz maybe it looks bad. Then as time went by and I went out a bit more, I started getting compliments and that was something I never really had before. Interesting experience I’d say.
I love how you say long hair is like catnip for women who are looking for certain qualities. I love men with long hair and totally fit into the vegetarian, bohemian type you described. The Family Man image has never appealed to me. In the past I've had boyfriends who began shorthaired but were persuaded to grow it. Now I'm lucky if men have hair at all!
The whole not paying attention to judgement is really great advice. I'm not growing my hair out for my girlfriend or whoever..I'm growing it out for me!
I love love love a man with long hair. It makes them look Bohemian at times. And that appeals to the side of me that loves nature. Then it times they can look Suave and that appeals to the side of me that loves fashion. And at times it can look Rogue and that appeals to the grungy Rockside that I adore. So for me a guy having long hair is amazing because I get so many versatile looks out of the guy
You look extremely hot. I love men with long hair. My ex was a professional man but he had long hair. Im an artist, belly dancer and poet and I really think men with long hair are sexy but he has to be smart and have a beautiful heart.
Having long hair as a guy means expressing our individuality amongst the others. We would rather stand out than look like everyone else with the same hair style. Plus, it’s majestic.

My reason why I like my long hair is because I enjoy the feeling of taking care of something about myself. The feeling of long straight healthy hair is really appealing and rewarding to me.
I’m almost exclusively attracted to long-haired men. The exception is, ironically, bald men hahaah I guess I just find the common hair length for men very boring. Personality matters the most and people should look however makes them happy, but men with long hair make the world more beautiful.
I am at the other side of the mirror :) I am a man with long hair and the only look that I also like and would be happy to go for is very short buzzcut or no hair at all. I think it's because long hair and super short hair (or no hair) have one thing in common : simplicity and wilderness. I don't like sophisticate things :-) People should do what they think and feel that make them happy, themselves and joyful. People, no matter the haircut you want as long as it suits YOU. No worries, your soulmate is somewhere.
The most hate I get as a man with long hair is from bald guys. But honestly I couldn’t care less because I am growing my hair for someone else. I’m going to donate it at the Great Cut 2024 in San Diego on The Longhairs channel. Women love touching my hair so I’m not complaining!! Just an added bonus! 😂
I grew my hair because I think you look really powerful. I can't explain how it exactly feels like but apparently I decided to grow my hair and now the buzz cut is trending here in Greece. Poor me...

Love this video mate very well explained and actually opened me up to new ways of thinking regarding the long hair scene on guys - I'm currently just over 3 years into my hair growth
Great video. I would be interested to hear about the response you’d get on the dating app if you only posted long hair photos. By posting short hair photos, you’re not likely to get responders who really like long hair. People who like longer hair wouldn’t even approach you. The responders you did get probably felt like it was bait and switch when you sent your new photos. Some women really don’t like facial hair either (I don’t recall if your long hair pics have a beard or not). In any case, thanks again for the video!
Yes definitely. There was definitely a switch ha ha. Facial hair I’ve not seen too much of a problem with but there are definitely some women who don’t like it. I’ve also got my nose pierced and arm tattooed so there’s a lot to dislike lol
you described everything perfectly! 17 and currently growing out my buzzcut cause im tired of shaving my head and want to change my appearance, plus i feel like hair gives so much energy and rounds the face. And im spiritual also :) subbed!
I appreciate hearing your experiences and analysis. Although I'm 64, and in a long-term relationship, I'm still curious about how others now see me -- 30 months into the pandemic, and without having had a haircut over that time. It is vicariously delightful to hear what a younger man is going through.
As a guy with long hair for a long time now, my experience is like this: not all women will like it, but those who dig it.... Man, you get a HUGE advantage with them, like a cheat code. It´s really powerful.
This really boosted my confidence in the choice I made four years ago wanting long hair I get both sides of the coin some like it some don’t some of my guy friends want my hair short just like some girlfriends like to see me with short hair as well but I think for the men is that they don’t know anyone with long hair and for the women I feel like they feel less feminine because my my hair looks better than them or I get more compliments than them not to sound cocky lol I do get pressured to cut it off and also to keep it but I wanted long hair because of me what you want matters and that’s the end of it.
I noticed that I get more compliments with my long hair from women than I did when I used to cut it . I always take care of my hair and it helps that I have volume lol
Got my long hair over lockdown uk decided to keep it :). A found that it brings something out in ppl around you it shows you ppl who love you for you and don't mined it or don't care and ppl that say aww cut that. So a get rid off the ppl that say cut it and now have ppl that are there for me :). Thanks for vid stay true

Last 5 years I’m growing my hair and cutting into the shape where possibly I can make pony style , I felt that I’m getting more hits by girls compared to short hair . I’m turning into 30s and I got married recently who she likes my hair so much , still I satisfied of my hair and you get more eyes everywhere.
Metalhead/rocker here, quite an insightful video here! I obviously grew my hair out because I am very passionate about the music I listen to (always have been). In terms of my dating life, funny enough my last relationship was with a very free spirited woman who out of all the women I have been involved with was the most like myself. I definitely think for sure it narrows down your dating pool, but at the same it makes you stand out in a crowd and many times I have been noticed/hit on by women at parties and bars. So it's not necessarily that I've become more attractive but as you mentioned having long hair exudes confidence and naturally more eyes are on me, therefore my chances seem better. In terms of radiating a sexy vibe, I've definitely been told that too haha. I feel much more free having my long locks, confident and more masculine as I having started working out much more than before when I had short hair as well.
There's just something about being a guy with long hair isn't there. You definitely stand out, sometimes that's good other times less so. I agree you definitely feel more confident when the hair is flowing and there's definitely something masculine about it. I think narrowing the dating pool is a good thing in the long run
@@alexorlandocross Well I am in my early 20s so narrowing the dating pool I don't think is the smartest option haha. I do agree that the women you do attract have more in common with you - like a diamond in the rough. In terms of masculinity, it's definitely the confidence aspect I mentioned before, women will respect you for being yourself even if they're not into you as you mentioned, and that's apparent everywhere.
@@alexorlandocross i can understand your point but would a women find a short hair cut man confident to cut his hair or a long hair man confident to grow his hair
Most girls are not gonna go for you if you have long hair. If you goal is hook-ups, most of the girls you're not even gonna get a chance, because it's such a deal breaker. But. The ones you do attract will REALLY love it. It's just that those females are far and few.
word as a girl i love love love love long hair on guys so much its almost a fetish at this point 😂 especially without facial hair i just like pretty guys
Have had short hair all my life (0-28 years old) always had a buzz cut or skin fade with a grade 2 on top. I used to get it cut every week because my hair grows rapidly. I always said I’d grow my hair ‘once in my life’ and 2 years ago I got my first grey hair and I thought I need to do it now rather then when I’m fully grey. I’ve been growing for 2 years and 3 months but my hair is a lot longer than yours as I mentioned ealrier about how quick it grows. I have super thick dense curly hair and I have to say even though it’s took me a good 18 months to get used to not having short hair I really love it in my own way now and have to be honest I get so many compliments on how beautiful, thick and curly it is I don’t think I’ll cut it any time soon. I have a son 3 & half year old son and we have identical hair. I love this also. Great interesting video mate
I started growing my hair long in 2002 and found out that it was really curly… my niece was born in 2003 and called me “Uncle Simba” because of it… when I donated my hair in 2010, she threw a fit. “Uncle Simba, where’s you’re mane?” 🦁
Personally, I mostly get compliments for my long hair. The only ones who ever told me I looked better with short hair were dudes and, of course, their opinion doesn't concern me as much as a female's would, and even that wouldn't concern me. Point is, experiment, see what works for you and what doesn't. Long hair isn't for everybody but, if you think that it is for you, carry it with confidence and don't let negativity get to you
As a metalhead , in the metal scene , I have long hair and I notice that , if you have short hair and you're a metalhead you dont get taken as seriously than a long haired guy.
I'm 41, i started growing my hair when i was 15 because I was possessed by heavy metal at the time haha It definitely hasn't made dating easy, some women love my long hair, some don't at all. In the end all that matters is that I love it. Maybe i'll cut it one day when i feel it's time to change but i'll never do it to feel more attractive to shallow women no matter how hot they can be. To me it has always been a good filter because i never wanted anything to do with people that are so judgemental because of a hair cut (or lack of in my case).
I’ve been told to cut my hair more than once by potential dates/would-be girlfriends but that is not going to happen. Most girls don’t like men with long hair, and I think that is well studied & proven by now. I love having long hair.
If you prefer long hair, it will limit the people who'll want to associate with you. Those who presume I'm a loser, drug abuser or criminal are petty and immature for their presumptions, and, thus, best to be politely avoided, yet a slander accusation slows the overly aggressive. I was a Cardiopulmonalogist for forty years, but still had an idiot ask, "how can you have long hair, you're a doctor?" I thought, "fu€king moron, it doesn't effect brain tissue 🤨. I retired early!
I'm growing my hair out now and I'm curious how this is going to affect getting a job. I'm studying product design and soon I'll be applying to jobs. My suspicion is that long hair will make me more memorable and seem more eccentric which is not necessarily a bad thing in a creative field. Any insight into other peoples experience with job applications and long hair would be great!
From my experience it is definitely a polarizing statement when you have long hair no matter what field you are in but it should not effect your job prospects as long as you keep it somewhat neat. I am a High School teacher with long shoulder length hair and a beard and some visible tattoos, it is not looked down upon at all by my administrators/bosses. When I was hired 4 years ago I had very short hair. I grew it the past couple of years and my students love it I am the cool (not so young) teacher! To be honest tho, I am looking to change school next year a bit worried how I will be judged by the Principal interviewing me but I plan on keeping it up in a bun or styled so it looks neat and not unkempt. Unfortunately there are a lot of people who judge you but I think as long as you keep it neat looking you will be fine! I hope you find an amazing job and are able to keep that mane long!
I normally only get my haircut twice a year and I always gets it cut when its around 8 months in the growing process, at the moment I haven't had a haircut since late April and its not even to my shoulder yet. I also grow beards when I don't get a haircut. To be honest people (like my family) are always saying I need to get my haircut but colleagues are work don't say that, someone of them say that I look good with longer hair, even my manager has long hair and a beard. I have never been in a relationship or dated and I'm 23.
As a guy who has had long hair for 40 years, It seems right now is the worst time or its just dating itself sucks. Ive tried all the online apps and I literally get no response, likes or comments. Just basically ignored. I don’t care what people think, which is why my hair is down to my waist and I’m not cutting it. People have said cut your hair and you’ll find a girlfriend and then grow it back. Why would I want someone who doesn’t want me for being me. Ive had long hair all my life, never shorter than below my shoulders. I know I’m older at this point and I just do my own thing. For me apps are a waste of time and I’m ok with being single and alone. The 80’s were an awesome time for long hair👍
Funny story I'm arab i come from a verry religious family so my dad told me you should cut your hair if someone saw you they will think you are gay... I told him but Dad, Jesus Have long Hair and his not gay right? 😂 from this moment i changed his mind now he sees my long hair as normal...
I've had a weird situation since I have had long hair. I've had a girl mate for many years, as I was growing out my hair and beard she was constantly saying stuff like "ew you look homeless" "you look like a druggie", "you should cut your hair" etc. I mean I don't, I just have long hair and a trimmed beard and keep myself clean. But since we usually go out in a large mixed group, whenever I start flirting with random girls, she always started acting different. The other night she just fully stormed out the place and ended up confessing some feelings towards me. She was never like this before when i had short hair so idk maybe it's actually the long hair.

Found your video just randomly very nice To me: My hair is as long as my whole back at 1.86m height & let it keep growing. I would never cut it for anybody’s reasons or opinions, i mean look at the history: the vikings, in the french revolutionary or the samurais in japan many man‘s had long hair so nobody should put guys with long hair in a pot with just vegan heavy metal or yoga. Maybe it is true or not. Very greatly to hear some other experience of you 👍
I thought it was me, because I only get 33% of the matches compared to when I had shorter hair. I think it's not harder to get girls, but your pool is reduced by half (66% in my case). This video helped me so much hearing it from another person with long hair.
Being a woman with long hair i like it in both men and women. There is something i feel is powerful and prideful in long well groomed hair. The energy it gives is like the mane of a lion .
I just turned 30 I've had long hair down to my ass my whole life since I was 5 years old! I would just get the ends trimmed! It was pass my ass and I just got it cut to just past shoulder length, because my 5 year old daughter always sits on it and pulls it by accident,! My daughter grew her hair to her butt also to be just like dad haha! But now I feel guilty because she cried her eyes out when I cut it shorter!
My dad has been trying to get me to cut my hair short for the past 2 years to no avail and assures me people are thinking my hair looks dirty and gross I have been getting compliments by strangers, and even customers at my workplace on my hair - men and women alike. I told my dad this and he says "yeah they're just being nice, they don't mean it" Lol so a person going out of their way to compliment you with no incentive to do so (like a salesman for instance) is just being nice? Think he's just jealous 😂 Nah I'm joking I love my pops but yeah it was a good decision to stick to it
I find as my hair has got quite long people that match seem to be very open minded. I find I match less women but when I match it seems more genuine to want to know me. I find with men I match though it's about the same amount except maybe more men saying they wanna ruffle my hair 😅
I found this interesting as a married guy working on growing out his hair. I have a long beard and have found a similar response - women that don't like it are VERY vocal in their disgust (LOL).
And it's really annoying. I don't know what makes them think that it's OK to make fun of guys with long hair, or to tell them to cut it. I have a friend who has very long hair and I was really impressed at how calm he was when people did that to him. I wanted to slap these idiots (telling him he looked like a girl, or he should cut his hair, or whatever). I mean, telling a short-haired woman to grow her hair would seem really crass, so why do they do the opposite? Somehow they must feel legitimate in being rude, because they are enforcing "accepted" social norms.
I don't get the greatest responses on dating apps and well hate apps. But IRL as long my hair is straight and shiny women actually do like it. A female friend told me my hair is pretty. Women at work seem to dig it too.
From my personal perspective I believe that the women who won’t date a man with long hair is that he’ll be too attractive and other women will flirt with him for sure and that may cuz a lot of jealousy problems and other things in the relationship, so most of women opt for the safe thing and go with a regular man with a normal hair which is quite popular..
"I wont date a guy with better hair than me" cudos for the honesty, but its your loss. I could give you a hair care routine so good that it would make all the other girls jealous of your shiny, silky locks. I should know, they're jealous of mine
Most people today are just narrow minded. They think that looks define how a person is without actually trying to establish any connection with them first which is disappointing. No wonder so many relationships fail today
i’m growing out my hair I want my hair long I have tattoos I have a full sleeve but the end of the day they don’t like it you’re not meant to be with them someone will like you for you
Now im 16, when i was 14 i had long hair. I enjoyed it so much, but people always called me ,,gay,, and made jokes about my ,,feminine,, looks, even tho i had most muscular body in my school. On start of 1st grade of high school i cutted off. Guess what?? Girl just started coming itself, especially thos who used to reject me in past. But i regreted it so much, bcs i have done this for others acceptances, and i felt like i sold myself for others. And just accept that people are S*HIT and its not worth adapting to their ,,standards,, honestly, on the end of the fay id someone conects you with other things just because you have long hair, for their information, all famous warriors, kings, knights, had LONG HAIR, amd those who wear long hair even though they get rejected, but still refuse to cut it off are real MEN, bcs they dont back down amd aren't aftraid of refuse like short hair man in they comfort zones are. God bless you, and keep rocking it. On the end of the day, nothing and nobody is worth your happines!❤💪
I went from 5 matches in a year to 10 overnight (yes that's low, I'm ugly and in the middle of nowhere) after I cut my hair off. I wish I hadn't cut it off though, I miss it. Wider match base but the smaller amount I had with long hair were more my kind of person. None of it was for other people though, I liked the look when it was long, but like how much simpler day to day life is with it short.

@@khwlasemaan8135Nah not even man, women just want a confident guy that shows love and compassion to them that’s all
I love men with long hair, for me, it is just SO much more attractive. I'm like... Seriously, you're a woman, you have long hair, are YOU dirty?)
I think one thing I like about long hair is that first, it has more personality.
@@jejmoss11 And that was also an awesome reply
@@alexorlandocross I have heard that our hair is like antennas that gives us a 6th sense, that's why we become as intuitive as women when we grow our hair. I think long hair is very attractive. Grow it out guys. You stand out in a good way.
Love this
As a woman I personally am highly attracted to men with long hair ,(and as a conservative woman)
A man can be a 6 but if he grows his hair out he automatically becomes a 7-9 for me
Sometimes I even ask men I'm talking with if they ever want to grow there hair (witch is probably bad)
But know that I find out that most woman who have my life style are not attracted to the same things as me I'm surprised(which sounds weird and close minded Haha but I just never gave a though two it and just assumed everyone else thought so two)
When I see a man with long hair I don't see a unstable man
Even as a woman who has conservative and traditional values
So this video made me think why I like men with long hair and I think its because I like different and special things and not just mundane boring things
I also see them as open minded, smart, adventurous and artistic.
So from now on when I see a man with long hair I will have more respect for them because they a strong enough to be them self's
Despite the backlash of main cultural standards
I have more respect for men with long hair from know on.
I really like the open minded reference and I think that's very true. Really appreciate this comment and the appreciation for men with long hair. Keep asking the guys whether they have any plans to grow their hair

That’s the exact philosophy of my channel
I've got hair nearly to my waist and it's very healthy. This guy just reenforces what I've known for 30 yrs. The women that are attracted to me are more fun and more real. And I'm usually the only long haired man In The room . If there is one woman that digs hair ,shes on me. It's worked for me.
I had long hair for a decade, then cut it 5 years ago when my first child was born. The reactions/comments I received when it was long, both positive and negative, were often extreme (once had a guy try to start a fight with me in a pub because of my long hair)
I’m growing it back now, I’m about 10 months into the process. It came down to the fact that after I cut it I felt like I’d lost my identity, my individuality.

Well, if you're such a shallow, superficial and jealous woman that feels threatened by the man's handsomeness, maybe, i said maybe, you deserve that.

I am at the other side of the mirror :) I am a man with long hair and the only look that I also like and would be happy to go for is very short buzzcut or no hair at all.
"Yes, it will get you laid."
Me with long hair: *nervous low confident laughs*
Love this. Trust the process
Feel ya bro! haha
you described everything perfectly! 17 and currently growing out my buzzcut cause im tired of shaving my head and want to change my appearance, plus i feel like hair gives so much energy and rounds the face. And im spiritual also :) subbed!
Thank you sir. You are in for a fun journey. Thanks for the sub. Means a lot
I’ve noticed exactly the same thing
@@alexorlandocross I was told it also helps to have a great sense humor and that it further increases your chances of being remembered.
They like our long hair because it looks better than them , but it doesn't mean they will date .
I’d definitely agree with that
You are adorable !!! I love men with long hair and I will first talk with you before i come to a conclusion about you. I would so date men with long hair, tattoos and piercings. Im the type that wants a serious relationship !!!!
You certainly do
Metalhead/rocker here, quite an insightful video here!
@@alexorlandocross
Well I am in my early 20s so narrowing the dating pool I don't think is the smartest option haha.
💪🏻💪🏻
Most girls are not gonna go for you if you have long hair. If you goal is hook-ups, most of the girls you're not even gonna get a chance, because it's such a deal breaker. But. The ones you do attract will REALLY love it. It's just that those females are far and few.
word as a girl i love love love love long hair on guys so much its almost a fetish at this point 😂
especially without facial hair
i just like pretty guys
I have been grown my hair in 1 year's now and like how i look. If women dont like my long hair i don't care i just want to be myself.
This gave me a whole different outlook on my hair, amazing vid btw
I started growing my hair long in 2002 and found out that it was really curly… my niece was born in 2003 and called me “Uncle Simba” because of it… when I donated my hair in 2010, she threw a fit.
“Uncle Simba, where’s you’re mane?” 🦁
We all love a mane
This is interesting. I've always dated men with long hair and prefer them. I say do what you're comfortable and happy with and be true to yourself.
Always be happy and true to yourself
@@alexorlandocross Always. Thank you. 😊
Personally, I mostly get compliments for my long hair. The only ones who ever told me I looked better with short hair were dudes and, of course, their opinion doesn't concern me as much as a female's would, and even that wouldn't concern me. Point is, experiment, see what works for you and what doesn't. Long hair isn't for everybody but, if you think that it is for you, carry it with confidence and don't let negativity get to you
Some dudes love it some dudes hate
@@alexorlandocross Yup, very polarizing indeed
I've been growing my hair my whole life but I've always trimmed it but I'm going to do that nomore just be yourself and do what makes you happy
As a metalhead , in the metal scene , I have long hair and I notice that , if you have short hair and you're a metalhead you dont get taken as seriously than a long haired guy.
I’ve noticed the same thing
Alex.. you are preaching to the choir!! Keep it up😎
Thank you
I'm 41, i started growing my hair when i was 15 because I was possessed by heavy metal at the time haha It definitely hasn't made dating easy, some women love my long hair, some don't at all.
I think that’s true but I still think that those who like it, really like it
If you prefer long hair, it will limit the people who'll want to associate with you.
Welcome to the journey
from this moment i changed his mind now he sees my long hair as normal...
Jesus had great hair
Yup. Exactly what I thought. That's why I'm trying to grow my hair, but it's hard!
Oh it is. You’ve got it though
stick to it victor, i shaved my head new years 2018, have not cut it since - hair down to just past my mid-chest , every day the hair is different, i love it, the hate has been real, but I get more compliments and approaches now than when short , but besides that - i love that my hair reflects my mood , and people leave you alone or interact , all my choice in the am , mid am , mid pm and pm lol
@@bananatoffeemilkshake5899 I have a bunch of friends that play in a band..only one of them has long hair. He is the only one who's been approached ever. Hes now enjoying a relationship with a pretty hot white american girl. We're all from central america.
@@victorarregnelle8976 great, i am a winemaker & viticulturist, and its each to there own, made me have more patience for the most part
Found your video just randomly very nice
To me: My hair is as long as my whole back at 1.86m height & let it keep growing.
Glad it helped
Well that's fine for me, because half of zero is still zero =)
I think the long hair really suits you looks great !
Honestly, I’m open to a lot of stuff and looks too. I love long hair.
I also immidiately started attracting younger women with longer hair.
My dad has been trying to get me to cut my hair short for the past 2 years to no avail and assures me people are thinking my hair looks dirty and gross
I have been getting compliments by strangers, and even customers at my workplace on my hair - men and women alike. I told my dad this and he says "yeah they're just being nice, they don't mean it"
Lol so a person going out of their way to compliment you with no incentive to do so (like a salesman for instance) is just being nice?
Think he's just jealous 😂 Nah I'm joking I love my pops but yeah it was a good decision to stick to it
I find as my hair has got quite long people that match seem to be very open minded. I find I match less women but when I match it seems more genuine to want to know me. I find with men I match though it's about the same amount except maybe more men saying they wanna ruffle my hair 😅
I found this interesting as a married guy working on growing out his hair. I have a long beard and have found a similar response - women that don't like it are VERY vocal in their disgust (LOL).
I can definitely relate to that lol
"You look like a vegan" - that's quite the compliment!
Yes i love men with long hair
Love this
good i am glad do you want to be friends
so thankful for sharing your experience!
You are more than welcome
From my personal perspective I believe that the women who won’t date a man with long hair is that he’ll be too attractive and other women will flirt with him for sure and that may cuz a lot of jealousy problems and other things in the relationship, so most of women opt for the safe thing and go with a regular man with a normal hair which is quite popular..
I definitely agree with this
I have to say... 90% of the females who I speak to go nuts over my long hair in a good way lol
Love that
"I wont date a guy with better hair than me" cudos for the honesty, but its your loss. I could give you a hair care routine so good that it would make all the other girls jealous of your shiny, silky locks. I should know, they're jealous of mine
Nothing better than women being jealous of your hair
@@alexorlandocross yeah, it was a sad day for my sisters when they had to realise that neither of them had the best hair in the family
This was incredibly motivational
Thanks so much
Most people today are just narrow minded. They think that looks define how a person is without actually trying to establish any connection with them first which is disappointing. No wonder so many relationships fail today
Sadly your right. Looks is only a small part
My hair role model is Zach McGowan I really love his whole look
Had to google him, but yeah he looks great
i’m growing out my hair I want my hair long I have tattoos I have a full sleeve but the end of the day they don’t like it you’re not meant to be with them someone will like you for you
I love this
Now im 16, when i was 14 i had long hair.
