    Your Canadian. Good for you that Canadians can't pour a flat cement floor. Business looks to be booming for you.
    Thanks for all the vids they are a great help.

    Levelled my kitchen and relied on your great videos. Thanks a lot. I realise it's a big time expense but would recommend sub titles added. Sound is muffled/unclear. Hope you take this as constructive. By the way, I'm very happy with result in my 3m x 4m kitchen. At the start, It was 3 inches out in some places and very sloping. I hand mixed sharp sand /cement screed in batches to build it up (would definitely hire a mixer if doing it again) , I let it fully dry over a couple of weeks then used nine bags of Mapei. I used revolving laser and put in screws to mark levels. Confident I could now do it again with a few small changes to how I went about it. I would get a laser like yours and use tripods if I thought I'd get full value from them. Screws I'd recommend for one off or small jobs. Thanks again for your instruction.

      I am very appreciative of your comment! You are got very good practicing and now have experience with how to do leveling. Sorry for the subtitles, I have a very limited time to make a video, just Saturday. It took all day. Very busy at this moment. Thanks!

    I ended up buying a 12 line laser level for my basement floor (750 sqft) which is significantly sloped (1.5 inches peak to center of floor is about 14 ft)
    I used the lift that it comes with and grinded down the high spots (incrementally increased height and tried to make the spots on the floor where the laser hit appear as a smooth curve / circle).
    Going to use a straight edge to try to smooth it out so that it is flat enough to put down DMX vapor barrier, then rigid foam board, then vinyl plank (7-8mm thick).
    Been using your videos as a guideline, going to order about 30 bags or so to get it flattened.

    It seems like you had so much time before the compounds began to dry. When I did this I think my mix was too dry and it dried extremely quickly. I used novoplan 2 , what did you use here? Thanks!

      It’s dry fast, maybe you used not cool water and did it at hot day time. In my videos I explain all little things but nobody wants to listen all movie. I used Novoplan 2.

    What are you using as the straight edge? Looks like a 2x4.

    How much water do you use per 50lbs bag of Mapei self leveler? I did 5 liters and it was too thick

      If it’s too thick add little bit more water. It is very simple. Thanks!

    How do you decide whether to use the tripods or the screed method?

    • @MrYoucandoityourself
      @MrYoucandoityourself  Рік тому +1

      If subfloor is good but have some low spots or I need make slope I use straight edge. In other situations I use tripods. Thanks!

      @@MrYoucandoityourself thank you. Our floor is very wavy so we probably need to use tripods.

    I'm surprised you don't use a full face respirator.
    They come with higher filtration filters and it also protects your eyes from dust.
