Thank you so much - this was very helpful as I am installing Eng. hardwood over Asbestos tiles of the 70's. and I installed my kitchen 'wood-look' tile over cement board, which is causing the 1/8" drop. This helped me understand. Thank you for moving the camera each time so we could see.
GREAT Engineering Idea to slope 6 ft. then 10 ft - to reduce noticeable sloping from hall to room. I have to do this -without leveling compound, I am using cork underlayment, 1/8" plywood, and 1/16" vinyl tiles to graduate the slope from the kitchen tile to the living room/den eng. hardwood installation. It's been quite a nightmare for a few months, but hopefully - after removing 2 sections - I can get this level, as right now, it is moving up/down when I walk across the unsloped areas (I failed to check it more accurately before adding more floor-eipc fail. SO THANK YOU for the 6 ft and 10 ft sloping effect.
I was wondering how much working time you have and if you mixed the leveler slightly thicker to stop the flow on the liquid. Also, on a 3/8" slope (about a 10-11MM drop why not just do it with like a 8' straight edge on the first pull. Do you have a video on straight edge when it's dry? Thanks.
You made a lot of very good videos ( I watched probably 30+ videos of yours ). I was about to level a floor with your method of Novaplan 2 plus. But I would use Nova plus SP because time is not a problem for me and I would use your 6 liters of water per bag. But then I wondered if I can flatten with rental tools. I have 850 Square feet basement. It is 33$ per bag here. So 1500$ total. I am wondering if renting a grinder for a week ( 600$ ) Would work better. I will do the job this weekend. I don't know if it is better, but it is a bit 900$ saving. What do you think ? I know my concrete slap is 4 inches, so maybe I go down to 3.8 inches and fill the gaps with the self leveling ( 1-2 bags ).
Hi, check level with rope cross from both sides and down the line. You will see all imperfections. Then you can get designe dot your need level it or just grinding and patching. Thanks
Have you ever used Mapei Novoplan HFL and compare it to 2 plus. Just wondering how easy it is to use compared to what you currently use. Thanks for all the information
Hi, I never used. But I read technical sheet - it’s high flow self leveling underlay. Should be very good. For each country company made same products with different names. All Novoplan products are good.
How is it possible that you are using a self leveling compound to make a slope? If it is sloping, then it cant be self leveling! Do you add less water to make it thick? Do you wait until it starts setting up and getting thicker?
Nice job, but I have some questions… Do you make thicker mix, why do you do it in two parts and is it safe to spike roll or will the leveller move out of position?

Hi Paul, yes, sometimes I ad more or less water depending what situation on the job site subfloor.
I hope this video will be very helpful for your future project.
I have a job for you if you take work in the GTA, contact me if you are interested
Nice job, but I have some questions…

Hi Mike, yes, I do. But SLC liked anyway. From my practice, better do it twice. Thanks!
