The King's Academy, a National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence with a Top-5 Nationally-Ranked Fine Arts Program, recently performed the high school premiere of "Newsies" on its main stage in the Page Family Center for Performing Arts. Starring senior Kyle Martin (Jack Kelly), senior Chris Pappas (Crutchie), senior Clay Hider (Davey), and sophomore Olivia Cornett (Katherine Plumber), this musical is said to be one of TKA Theatre Co.'s best.
TKA’s Conservatory of the Arts, a two-time American High School Theatre Festival award-winning fine arts program, is led by Mr. David Snyder (Artistic Director, Musical Theater, Department Chair), Mr. Nathan Adams (Vocal Arts), Mrs. Cathy Higgins (Dance- Ballet, Tap, Modern and Jazz), Mr. Douglas Gawriljuk (Dance- Ballet and Modern), Miss Sarah Fahey (Theatre Arts), Mr. Brad Majzner (Stagecraft), Mr. David Skinner (Instrumental Director), Mr. Wes Lowe (Assistant Band Director), Mr. Patrick Clifford (Strings), Mrs. Macey Norton (Video/Digital Arts), Mrs. Lauren Moxey (Visual Art), Mrs. Stephanie Grasso (Elementary Choir, Woodwinds), and Mrs. Robin Phillips (Piano).

Everybody in this production was absolutely AMAZING, but Olivia Cornett was absolutely perfect as Katherine! And only a sophomore! She’s got such a bright future ahead of her.
For a high school level production, that was incredible. Outstanding performance. Loved everything about it.
This production really makes me wish I had the opportunity to attend a school as amazing as this one.

Katherine’s only a sophomore?! Wow! I want to play Katherine in a production of Newsies this summer but I’m only going to be a sophomore and they’re bringing in college girls so crap. But they double cast so I have a chance.

This was awesome! Newsies is my all time favorite, and you made my day watching this from NY! Nailed it! With a teen in musical theatre, you surpassed our program up here in NY. Amazing job!
This entire production was perfect! I could sing (not literally) praises all day!
tka's version of newsies is mega awesome and I'm proud of all of them especially Kyle Martin as jack Kelly cause he did a fantastic job in this production alongside with his friends thank you tka for putting this show production together with mr snyder's fantastic casting as well
Watching all of these videos is making me miss musical theater so much. You all did wonderful, this is such a great performance!!

As always, a spectacular performance from The King's Academy. There hasn't been one performance from TKA that I haven't enjoyed from start to finish :) I know I've said it tonnes of times before on previous video's but a majority of the cast and crew are destined for Broadway or the UK's West End. Once again, excellent performance ladies and gentlemen and warm greetings from The West End, Theatre Land, London, UK. :)

My guess is likely because you just watched an amazing performance done by high school kids that could stand against almost any other broadway performance you can find! Good stuff!

This was fantastic so so so so impressed. My one question is why is Crutchie in the bow with Jack? Like no offense to Chris and all, but Kyle deserves at least his own bow, or maybe with Olivia? He was good, but only there for half the show. Not the main character or anything. Idk, anyways. Just a little confused.
Delaney Murphy due to protagonism, this is probably their choice.
I think it’s because they were lifelong friends in real life and they graduated this year
