That was interesting. I thought that, despite you not being very positive about the Asda mix, once you took a bite, you were going to say actually it tastes better than Betty Crocker!!! Lol Another UA-camr I follow from the USA swears by the Ghirardelli box brownie mix. Do you get that brand in the UK? I haven't seen it here in Australia. A year ago I needed to make some gluten free vanila cupcakes, not having delved into gluten free at that stage, so I bought an Aldi cake mix and a Betty Crocker cake mix, both gluten free. The BC tasted only slightly better but was twice the price of the Aldi, so then tried the Aldi gluten free chocolate cake mix and it wasn't very good at all.
Thank you for watching 😊 Honestly, they weren’t far apart. Betty Crocker won purely on taste! After I had finished filming though, the asda mix ones got chewier so I do think they won on texture. No I’ve not heard of that brand before. Oh that’s a bit rubbish! I do think gluten free is even harder to get right. I’ve mastered a gluten free Victoria sponge recipe but not a chocolate cake yet. I would like to try more cake mixes and maybe I should compare supermarket own brands to see if there is much difference?
