I'm surprised you didn't mention the Orre Colosseum Post Game. That is where the double battle strategies/challenge you say the game is lacking, is present. The Orre Colosseum was incredibly harder than the other in game colosseums due to the fact that the AI is very intelligent and their Pokemon have amazing EVs and IVs. There are a ton of double battle strategies that the opponents use in the Orre Colosseum such as Weather teams (Rain Dance, Sunny Day and Sandstorm), Skill Swap Slaking and letting him wreck and sweep, Toxic + Guts, Sleep, Paralysis Flinching, Explosion, Swords Dance + Speed Boost + Baton Pass and then using Psych Up to copy and even an Eeveelution team that uses Helping Hand. The Orre Colosseum is what makes me love Double Battles and XD. Furthermore, there's also the Battle CD side mini-games that gives the player a chance to take a break from the main story. love the Battle CDs because the harder ones each have a strategy that revolves around knocking out the opponent's team Pokemon within a certain amount of turns which makes the player think about strategies they have to use in double battle to win. Such as having to Ice Beam your own Salamence to bring in Houndoom b/c you're trapped by ShadowTag. This is a nice reversal because instead of the opponent having a Double Battle Stategy, you now one and have to figure out how to utilize it. There are also other puzzles that challenges the player to use the player's own abilities/ opponent's abilities against them I.E. Pressure stalling to drain an opponent's PP for a move that would otherwise knock you out or switching in a Psyduck to prevent the opponent from using Explosion.
I've done the mt.battle challenge (1-100 without leaving/changing Pokemon) 4 times but have never beaten Orre Coliseum I've had the game for at least 14 years
These Pokemon Colosseum games were what i expected from a console Pokemon game (but expanded on of course). In some ways, Sword/Shield still isn't up to the standards that these gamecube games brought to Pokemon.
A Remake of these games would ROCK! They already remade Pokemon Snap and Mystery Dungeon and those have great ratings in the community so far. Plus, it would always be fun to see updated story lines/sidequests, more shadow pokemon species (like Sinnoh or Unova for example), and graphics. A Remaster would work too, but the potential changes are more intriguing personally
That is something I hope for. But for a sequel, my idea would be to have it in a neighbouring region of Orre. Include a few new Pokémon never heard of that you can snag from an unknown region (gen 9 region) to give hype for a new generation. The story could be that you (the pro) is a distant family member of Greevil or some other cipher member, in Orre they forgive them as they learn their mistakes (well Greevil) but in this region they don't. So you are ridiculed as a traitor for having cipher blood. So when Cipher returns, you stop them but at first, they think you are responsible and blame you for it. Making it more darker plot. Can work for Orre but who knows
Actually. Colosseum and XD could add new areas to add more to the story and more shadow pokemon to catch for both games (gen 4 to 8). But Colosseum could alter these pokemon you find to be more interesting. Like galarian corsola instead of normal corsola and adding a shadow galarian zigzagoon as a gift from Rider willy. But also (to promote hype for next gen) change the johto stater shadow pokemon you catch at the beginning of Colosseum to regional variants of the starters for an unknown region. Making things more interesting about Cipher
...Nah. If we're talking about overall, I'd say RBE/ORAS and the original BW have it beat, and if we're talking purely about the gameplay, I'd rather play SwSh for its diversity or DPPt/B2W2 (Hard mode, of course) for its strong major trainers.
If he ever do a remake of these games I hope they mix them both together the futures from Coliseum and features from XD Gale of Darkness, I would like the game to be more difficult and also keep Wes as a main character I will also like Shadow Lugia in the game too all in one
I remember this game. I named the MC "lea" based off the kingdom hearts character. the green eyes, the red hair, the quasi-criminal activity; how could I resist?
Tbh, I never consider Colleseum or XD as Spin offs as they, are gameplay wise, almost identical to a main line Pokemon game. They aren't a simulator style game, they have a simulator side mode, just like how normal Pokemon games have a Pokemon Vs Side mode. It's just, straight up, Pokemon but made by a different company. Unlike other games where they are simply a different game with Pokemon tied to it (not saying that's bad but that's just being literal) they are just Pokemon Games.
I wouldn't mind it if the main games started following the structure of these games. Getting gym badges while fighting villains on the side gets repetitive. They got rid of badges in Gen 7, but it still felt the same. I think just focusing on just the villains would be refreshing and could make for a less predictable experience.
Reading your comment made me realize how much better Pokemon is when they're not made by GameFreak. I'd love to see Genius Sorority make more games like this.
@Sanji Uchiha Explanation why, I mean, you have the usual battle mechanics and Pokemon availability, just that capturing Pokemon is through "stealing" and not "wild".
I remember when I was 4 to 5 years old and I booted up XD on my gamecube for the first time, I loved it. Until I played it the only exposure I had to Pokemon was through super smash bros melee and seeing what they could really do was magical. My first main series Pokemon game was diamond but it didnt really become one of my favorite series until soul silver, but Pokemon XD was my first real step into the world of Pokemon and I love it
Agreed! The one thing I disliked in XD was the art direction. The animations and detail for the NPCs and towns were way better than colosseum for sure. But I really disliked the cartoon-y look compared to Colosseum's refreshingly gritty flair.
The reason why your video did so well is because it was put into many people's recommended feed, mine included. Which is good because I didn't know who you are and since subscribed sooooo.....GG algorithm.
I feel like XD *needed* to be lighter in tone compared to Colosseum. It's a region that is finally starting to get back onto its feet after being controlled by Cipher/Snagem for years, and the tone of the game needed to reflect the sense of hope and renewal that Wes (intentionally or not) gave to Orre by defeating the evil teams. And it needed to be a regular citizen of Orre, rather than a former Team member because that further reflects the more positive tonal shift. On top of that, the name definitely fits the game because while light has begun to return to Orre, the darkness heralded by Shadow Lugia - the "unpurfiable" Pokémon - would indeed be a gale that would completely knock over the region, as it were. Of course, that doesn't mean you can't prefer the tone of Colosseum over XD - that's fine - but it wouldn't make much sense for there to be absolutely NO change in a five-year period (just look at what's happened to the West in just two), and it's something that is needed. One cannot banish evil permanently; the light must always be fought for, defended.
The hardest part of this game was definitely the Orre Colosseum in the post game. Especially the Round 7 Eldes battle. That still takes the cake as the hardest in game battle imo. Thanks for the video!
@@xeienar I mean, it would be fine if 1. The pokémon are pretty much the main protagonists. (Lets face it, the protagonist is just an emotional marionette) 2. GF wouldn't have lied about with all the National Dex Drama But I agree, the characters look way better, but on the costs of the pokémon
the only things from colosseum and xd that was used in the newer games so far was the concept of shadow mewtwo in pokken tournament and the return of shadow pokemon in pokemon go
If we treat the Colosseum series purely as a sub-series meant to break people into the VGC format, then this game did a pretty good job. If the main series game ever decided to make Doubles the main battle format over Singles and kept Singles restricted to wild and special battles, I would be okay with that. Seems like more Pokemon and mechanics are being based around Doubles anyways.
Can't agree more with what you said! The quality of life make this game much, much better than Colosseum, but the final area is really tedious in this game, too many encounters and too many shadow pokémons. Yes, the tone isn't as dark as before, but I actually like it, because it makes sense that after the events of Colosseum, life has become overall better for everyone in the Orre region, it makes what you accomplished over the course of the first game more meaningful. Overall, I prefer XD, especially for the quality of life features, but these games should still be considered as parts of the same bigger experience throughout this region and I love them both for this. ... by the way, I probably spent too much time playing the Bingo when I first played this game.
Hopefully, what's going to happen is they're going to get a third part to what should have been a trilogy. This way Ardos can swear his revenge, and we can get a new gritty game that, hopefully, find the middle ground of Colosseum and Gale of Darkness. I think why Gale of Darkness felt safer lies in two reasons: 1. You play as a child, not an adult - This means they had to abide by more strict sensors to ensure a release 2. Less slum-type areas, while Pyrite was interesting, and the secret lab has its own appeal, The Under is its own focal point of the game. You have this sense of big brother in it, but also that there's a risk in your actions - With enemies consistently higher level than you, it even lets you know you're gonna have a rough time; Gale of Darkness often matched or was lower than you, which means battles were less strenuous.
Mirror B needs to make a comeback in the mainline series. He should honestly just float in and out of generations like Looker. In fact, he and Looker should have a confrontation one day.
I sadly never got to play colosseum. I remember when I was a kid and it was coming out my school’s library had bookmarks of the horn starters in that game and I collected the crap out of them. XD though I had a lot of experience with. The trailers, there were demos to play at stores. I was very hype for XD. And even though it is as you noted a little more ‘lighter’ than colosseum. I loved Michael’s design. I remember thinking how cool the snag machine looked and how it really stood out on him. I love the bit where he gets knocked out by the gloom. And penance city being taken over is pretty great. But when you mentioned the whole crunch of shadow Pokémon towards the end, I realized you were right. In my playthrough there were a LOT of those Pokémon that went mostly unused because they were gotten so late. It was a crush of Pokémon at once and didn’t really have a chance to enjoy having one before having to rush to get 3 more of them. All in all good points, I still sadly haven’t played colosseum, but these games were what console games should’ve been. You didn’t have all the Pokémon available to get but the graphics were amazing (I still like them even if they are GameCube graphics) The gameplay was fun, and it was a good story and entertaining. I would like a new opportunity to play colosseum since it’s so pricey now to get a copy, I’m forever grateful I got my hands on XD
If you have a classic Wii or WiiU you can emulate the using Nintendont, it also actually supports link trading as well so it’s definitely worth checking out
I have both colosseum xd. I personally perfer xd to colossum because in summery colossum is brutely and unbearblely hard whereas dx in the grand scme of things is relatively easy but still resenablely challaging (exsept for Eldes),colossum is incitetably lierier the very limited selection of pokemon basitly means that beyond the first playthough you are forced to use the same pokemon agin, and the story in colosseum is honestly not graet at best in my opinion and is vastly overrated. Mainly because you don't see the main bad guy, Evise thoughtout the game and the opening cutscen has not aged well. I firmly beliveve the opening of a game should have more to do with the antegines then the proteginnes and introduce the game's confidt and objectives. Pokemon xD suseesed in both of the regerds, introduing XD001 and I you Granvill in Gation Port pretending to be a morest and then after you desoye the key lier you see him on a moniter threatening to unlesh his shadow pokemon and taut the player by saying he will never reach him and I for I think pokemon xd is a lot darker then poeple say it is, because team Cipher steels sick and injured pokemon from the s.s. Libra and corrupts them for their nefarious purposes. (the shadow pokemon conpt was far better exacuted in xd then colosseum) and as for the late areas, tower colosseum and citadark isle restively, I perfer the latter, because while it is true they are both long and grindy, it has the adanitsis of a darker atmosphere and hyping up the finel battle more AND unlike colosseum once you do get to said finel battle, you feel like "oh Arecas, I must win this battle because the fate of the pokemon world will by determined by it" never got that from Evise for some reasen. So consiter youself lucky, Lugialur, would you be willing to order colosseum if you saw it on Amazon for $40.00,because I'm putting up the listing soon
can we talk about wakin? dude is a genius, using sleep powder on humans, useing it on you to take your snagging machine since he knows he can't beat you in a straight fight, and the guards outside the shadow pokemon factory
Gotta hand it to genius sorority, they are kings when it comes to the battle animations. If these games were to be remastered I hope that they will be given the chance to. I just don't trust gamefreak with these two games .-.
Replaying this game now after 16 years with my girlfriend and going back it’s so refreshing to have a few boss battles actually catch us on our heels. Oh and the ost slaps
I decided to replay Pokémon Colosseum. With me being in my 30’s I am much more experienced and know what to do and that I need to grind for a couple dozen hours.
These side games are my favorite out of the side games. I feel like these games fit the overarching plot of the mainline story games (Aka the impact that humans and pokemon have on each other) and they fit in with Mega evolution and Z moves. If you think about it, they are kind of opposite ends of the spectrum. On the side of happiness and a good bond, you have mega evolution and Z moves. However, on the opposite side of the spectrum, you have shadow pokemon that were forced to become powerful due to their hearts being forcibly closed. It fits the narrative well and I'd like to see these incorporated somehow with the mainline pokemon games.
For me a big selling point of Citadark Isle is the walking glitch found in Agate Village in Colosseum, everything I found on the game said that the glitch was removed and is not found anywhere, but I did some searching and found several of them in that location.
I loved having ursaring on my team the only problem was it was normal type I'm not a big fan of the only type that can't deal stab super effective damage
@@Moonstriker2514 That's arguably probably because of how Pokemon's terribly balanced elemental affinities are. In any other RPG or monster collector, being able to do strong neutral damage while not having any weaknesses is a good thing. With Pokemon, Normal is such a low tier element because stuff like Rock, Steel and Ghost don't care and it's weak to Fighting.
PSA for every fan of Pokemon XD: Check out the ROM Hack Pokemon XG, which pushes XD to its limits, implements special/physical split, Fairy type, new moves, ridiculously many shadow moves, many more shadow pokemon, unlimited TM use, more items, and much more. It has been an absolute blast to play through this. Also the difficulty is raised a bit to make it more challenging.
It’s a word of Dante situation (TVtropes term) someone well respected in the fandom said it but no one officially confirmed it... to be fair, chuggaaconroy is only human and made mistakes before, the one he mentioned recently was accidentally putting a note to the confirmed pile (or whatever he used for notes) instead of a to be researched pile which lead to the wiki of Okami to make a gigantic note on the page pertaining to that note to not put any of the info he said based on that note he didn’t research on that page
Is it bad that Disco Miror B. is the number 1 reason I like XD? He's like, "My team's goal is to catch all the pokemon". Not just one of each. ALL of them. Man has ambition XD also his theme is SLAPPIN' and I could listen to it for freaking ever. Also Phenac city was mind-blowing to me as a kid lol.
Awesome!!! GoD was my first ever Pokemon game ever and even though it has a number of problems, it'll always be one of my favorites.I just have two major gripes with it. I absolutely hated the Cipher Peons battle marathon you had to do frequently in the game. Even if you know the placements of all Peons in like the Cipher Lab, it's one heck of a drag taking like ten steps and then having to battle over and over again until you get to Krane. And I think the most hyped up moments like Robo Groudon and even SHADOW LUGIA, the Pokemon that was this game's face, were so underwhelming. I get that the joke of Robo Groudon was that Kaminko's inventions are played for laughs, but I thought XD was gonna do something cool with it, like you said, make it dark as the name implied. And S. Lugia.... you see it once...ONCE in the beginning of the game. That's it. They just yeeted its menacing and cold form and just got reduced to being a topic in dialogue until the last battle. The Pokemon that's on the box art and has a Gamecube skin dedicated to it. Even as a kid, I felt like I got cheated out. ;_;
I prefer Colosseum for exactly the same reasons you do, but I love XD all the same. I think I commented this on your Colosseum video, but I don't want a remake. I don't trust anybody to do them some justice, mostly because they would probably be adapted to current-gen mechanics, with all the power creep and one-hit killing.
Honestly there needs to be more alternate type of pokemon games. Theyre already doing it with the pokemon movies so why not games? It would be sick to have a main character/player that has an actual personality and not one that doesn't even talk. If we had the option to choose what to respond it would just add so much more to the game. It would also be cool for a different beginning, maybe instead something like we were a grunt for the villains but then decided to rebel against that?
The battle mountain in this game is also brutal. There you really do see the amazing double battle team compositions. I still have trouble with it today knowing what I’m even going against. I’m doing another play through when I saw this video
This was the very first pokemon game I played, i was like 6 or 7 and I was just like "woah... That was cool" and now today I randomly remembered it and found this video, ahh the nostalgia, I want a sequel on switch, or at least a mirror b. reference
Pokemon XD is all a sequel should be. Graphics, move effects and animations are HUGELY improved, tons of epic music, and also the expanded shadow movepool adds so much depth to the gameplay mechanic
I think this game is more recommendable because of the variety but on the other hand Colosseum feels more straightforward with less emphasis on catching shadow Pokemon. Having to catch 2 shadow Pokemon at a time later on is more annoying than it is fun. Colosseum never really slows down in that way so it's a much better pick up and beat kind of game imo. Besides that, Colosseum just has a stronger sense of identity as well, so it's more memorable to me. I hope if they remake it they do so with the same kind of grit Colo had.
What's really great about these games, compared to the main titles, is that Game Freak really didn't held back with difficulty (I totally agree with your point about difficulty through stratagy and sheer power creep, but let's call it overall difficulty for now). Especially catch some of the late shadow pokemon was an extreme challenge for about 9 year old me. Dealing with some really strong Pokemon of the enemy AND trying to bring the shadow pokemon to low HP without killing it AND maybe having to try multiple times to catch it. I think this is quite a lot to handle for a young player and I absolutly love it! I really wish more of this willingness to confront the player with strong trainers would appear in the main games. I think this also why I came back to this game so many times. Also, really great video again. Loved that ride down memory lane and absolutly agree: It would be great to see these games remastered!
I re-bought a gamecube recently specifically to replay XD and Colosseum. They are not only a refreshing break from the core Pokemon games, but they're so unique, are challenging (unlike most of the Pokemon games these days), have a more interesting and complex battle system, and the humour in them is great! Dr. Kaminko's inventions anyone? I have to agree though, while I love both, I prefer Colosseum over XD.
Huh! I was expecting to hear your thoughts on the battle SIM aspect of the game. Finding them all and beating the challenges is always my favorite thing to do when I replay. In fact these 2 side games were my first experience doing double battles.
XD is the one I’ve owned so long. I played it 100s of times, and I would constantly stall Miror Bs battles to listen to the theme. I’m not sure how many times I’ve made it to the top of Mt Battle. But I always quickly ran to catch my Poochyena.
This was my first Pokémon game. I've never played Colesseum, but I hope I can go back and play both. I still have the save data of the game, but I don't have the game anymore, and boy is it pricey now. Some day, I hope I can bring my pokémon from this game all the way to the newer generations. My first mons are still on my memory card, crazy to think.
I prefer the feel and battling in Colosseum but XD helped with more Pokemon & quality of life improvements. For a remake keep the tone and battle quality of Colosseum with XD's improvements while greatly expounding on them with: online, more Pokemon, more content, and the current Pokemon mechanics
Had both of them and i LOOOVE both of them. Great games, awesome story and good pokemon library. Which they do a 3rd game following this storyline for the Switch.
I agree with most of your opinions honestly and you're very right. The only time in XD where you really feel something is when you find the ruins of the SS Libra and the tone of the game takes a massive punch in the gut. Not only is the sight of the wrecked ship haunting, but the fact that so many Pokemon are either now missing or taken and that the game never explicitly says what happened to the crew creates a foreboding atmosphere.

Ah yes, my favorite protagonist:
FRIGO!
Don't remind me of Frigo Returns.
One of the best Pokémon games ever made! Game freak please make a remaster collection of coliseum and xd, following with a sequel on switch!
These games are great because they were not made by Gamefreak.
...Nah. If we're talking about overall, I'd say RBE/ORAS and the original BW have it beat, and if we're talking purely about the gameplay, I'd rather play SwSh for its diversity or DPPt/B2W2 (Hard mode, of course) for its strong major trainers.
Pretty telling that Gamefreak didn’t even make this game.
Guy named Biden who forgets who you are, proving Pokemon XD was way ahead of it's time. 🤣🤣🤣 priceless
They're the main games first cousin that you go to see often.😊
Not to mention you could actually Linked UP Colosseum and XD to your Game Boy Advance games
I can’t wait to finish Pokémon Colloseum, but the real problem is finding a cheap copy of xd
Check eBay! Some ppl will be selling them for cheap just trying to get rid of it really quick
I played XD on an emulator.
I bought mine for $70 and it is worth it.
geez man, don't be a p*ssy and just pirate it
Check out vintage stock I bought mine for $50 bucks
this is the quality content i need on a road trip
I remember when I was 4 to 5 years old and I booted up XD on my gamecube for the first time, I loved it. Until I played it the only exposure I had to Pokemon was through super smash bros melee and seeing what they could really do was magical. My first main series Pokemon game was diamond but it didnt really become one of my favorite series until soul silver, but Pokemon XD was my first real step into the world of Pokemon and I love it
Dude.
I just really, really want to see something like Shadow Lugia or Primal Dialga done again, they are SO nice.
Agreed! The one thing I disliked in XD was the art direction. The animations and detail for the NPCs and towns were way better than colosseum for sure. But I really disliked the cartoon-y look compared to Colosseum's refreshingly gritty flair.
Yeah, some of the animations looked a little too ambitious.
That Biden joke was perfect.. lmao
Made me spill my water.
I’m living for this joke
Lmfaoo
keep politics out of this.
I have been doing my first play through ever of XD, and when I first saw Biden I laughed my ass off shouting, "I FOUND JOE!"
The hardest part of this game was definitely the Orre Colosseum in the post game. Especially the Round 7 Eldes battle. That still takes the cake as the hardest in game battle imo. Thanks for the video!
1:08
Wow, when did game come out again!? The animations blow Sword and Shield out the water.
XD was 2005
that is only the animations characters do when you battle them. Shield and Sword has better animations for characters. Not pokémon tho
@@xeienar I mean, it would be fine if
1. The pokémon are pretty much the main protagonists. (Lets face it, the protagonist is just an emotional marionette)
2. GF wouldn't have lied about with all the National Dex Drama
But I agree, the characters look way better, but on the costs of the pokémon
You DAMN RIGHT cause in this current age of pokemon Gamefreak ain't doing it and they didn't take notes from Genius Sonority.
the only things from colosseum and xd that was used in the newer games so far was the concept of shadow mewtwo in pokken tournament and the return of shadow pokemon in pokemon go
If we treat the Colosseum series purely as a sub-series meant to break people into the VGC format, then this game did a pretty good job. If the main series game ever decided to make Doubles the main battle format over Singles and kept Singles restricted to wild and special battles, I would be okay with that. Seems like more Pokemon and mechanics are being based around Doubles anyways.
I don’t watch as much yt as much as I used to, but your Colosseum video was tight. Heres a sub, and kick some ass becoming a successful youtuber.
"The success of Pokemon Mystery Dungeon DX proves that there is a market
for Pokemon spin-off titles."
And New Pokemon Snap if that does well. :)
Hopefully, what's going to happen is they're going to get a third part to what should have been a trilogy. This way Ardos can swear his revenge, and we can get a new gritty game that, hopefully, find the middle ground of Colosseum and Gale of Darkness.
I think why Gale of Darkness felt safer lies in two reasons:
1. You play as a child, not an adult - This means they had to abide by more strict sensors to ensure a release
Thank you for putting his theme on at the end
I loved this game as a kid and its still my favorite Pokémon game🤷🏾♂️
Nice! I'm almost completing Colosseum and I'm looking forward to playing XD then
You won't be disappointed. Just to let you know, that its my favorite childhood game ever.
Gotta hand it to genius sorority, they are kings when it comes to the battle animations. If these games were to be remastered I hope that they will be given the chance to. I just don't trust gamefreak with these two games .-.
@Pokémon & FF fan so just like normal pokemon games.
XD will always have a special place in my heart for being my first video game and introducing me to this franchise.
Give me a remake of this with Custom Character creation and I'll be Good-to-Go.
Replaying this game now after 16 years with my girlfriend and going back it’s so refreshing to have a few boss battles actually catch us on our heels. Oh and the ost slaps
My two most fav Pokémon games
Awesome Job on this Video! Pokemon XD Gale of Darkness Was One Of My Favorite Video Games Growing up as a Kid!
I decided to replay Pokémon Colosseum. With me being in my 30’s I am much more experienced and know what to do and that I need to grind for a couple dozen hours.
I have recently been replaying Colosseum & XD: Gale of Darkness and they are amazing games.
As a kid this game was like the holy grail. I remember playing Colosseum and wanting to play this and I couldn’t find it anywhere, mythical status
Fun fact: you can fill the purification chamber with nothing but hoppip and it works to purify lugia. Easiest way to get it done with 0 thought
For me a big selling point of Citadark Isle is the walking glitch found in Agate Village in Colosseum, everything I found on the game said that the glitch was removed and is not found anywhere, but I did some searching and found several of them in that location.
I honestly forgot how amazing the attack animations were in this. Look at the rain dance used in the montage.
Thank you for making this. 👍👍👍👍
I feel like this game helped show how busted Teddiursa is as an early obtainable Pokemon especially with Return available to it.
that Teddiursa was GOATED!
This is my favorite Pokémon Game EVER! And I hope there will be a remake someday!
PSA for every fan of Pokemon XD:
Check out the ROM Hack Pokemon XG, which pushes XD to its limits, implements special/physical split, Fairy type, new moves, ridiculously many shadow moves, many more shadow pokemon, unlimited TM use, more items, and much more.
It has been an absolute blast to play through this. Also the difficulty is raised a bit to make it more challenging.
CAN WE PLS TALK ABOUT HOW THE ORIGINAL VILLAIN IN GALE OF DARKNESS WAS GONNA BE WES BUT THEY SCRAPPED IT LAST MINUTE???
Wait for real it was?? How am I just finding out about this???
Who's Wes?
@@nidohime6233 The MC of Colosseum
That's unconfirmed info. I'm sorry, but I need more sources than just Chuggaaconroy to confirm this.
4 of the pokemon spin-off infinity stones have been discussed now to wait for pokepark
This game, is all of my childhood, and it reassures my love for gaming. This is one if my favorite games of all time. The best Pokemon game.
Awesome!!! GoD was my first ever Pokemon game ever and even though it has a number of problems, it'll always be one of my favorites.I just have two major gripes with it. I absolutely hated the Cipher Peons battle marathon you had to do frequently in the game. Even if you know the placements of all Peons in like the Cipher Lab, it's one heck of a drag taking like ten steps and then having to battle over and over again until you get to Krane. And I think the most hyped up moments like Robo Groudon and even SHADOW LUGIA, the Pokemon that was this game's face, were so underwhelming. I get that the joke of Robo Groudon was that Kaminko's inventions are played for laughs, but I thought XD was gonna do something cool with it, like you said, make it dark as the name implied. And S. Lugia.... you see it once...ONCE in the beginning of the game. That's it. They just yeeted its menacing and cold form and just got reduced to being a topic in dialogue until the last battle. The Pokemon that's on the box art and has a Gamecube skin dedicated to it. Even as a kid, I felt like I got cheated out. ;_;
I prefer Colosseum for exactly the same reasons you do, but I love XD all the same.
This game was iconic. I wish they made a 3rd installment on switch
The sevii islands are fun....
5:20 Perfect reference... XD
I'd LOVE to see a remake of Pokémon XD and Colosseum!!! :D They're my favourite Pokémon games! :O
Also, it has fantastic music. Some of my favorite from Pokemon.
When I was little I didn't even know this was a sequel. Really shows how good a job they did making it a standalone game.
I still think this ,collesem and both Pokémon stadium are all main series. My opinion
3:00 That's a very... happy face for someone who just got kidnapped
Man I used to play this game so much definitely one of my favorite Pokémon games the battle music was iconic
Mirror B's theme in XD still makes me dance to this day
What's really great about these games, compared to the main titles, is that Game Freak really didn't held back with difficulty (I totally agree with your point about difficulty through stratagy and sheer power creep, but let's call it overall difficulty for now).
Thank you my friend!
Game Freak didnt make this game. Genius Sonority did. So its no surprise that there was a different approach to difficulty.
Yeah boy love your videos there great i listen to it when am playing Pokemon love it keep up the great work
Definitely one of my favorite games on the Gamecube.
They're deceptively cheap pre owned at gamestop. But otherwise you're looking at 300 dollars.
I prefer the feel and battling in Colosseum but XD helped with more Pokemon & quality of life improvements. For a remake keep the tone and battle quality of Colosseum with XD's improvements while greatly expounding on them with: online, more Pokemon, more content, and the current Pokemon mechanics
"60 dollar price tag", oh how times have changed
Had both of them and i LOOOVE both of them. Great games, awesome story and good pokemon library. Which they do a 3rd game following this storyline for the Switch.
XD is still my favorite pokemon game. I always check up every once in a while for sequel rumors
I was 9 years old when this game came out, I feel old, but still a great game I still have the gamecube, and I played it like a week ago.
One of my favorite games ever this game just gives me nostalgia. Wish gamefreak would actually make a new game of this vain
You forgot the orre collesium at the end loved that challenge area
Very fair review - although I was still blown away by the sequel... I think just because I loved Collaseum so much!
1:45 Wait... that word... A FELLOW YINZER USING *JAGOFF* AS AN INSULT?!?
Awesome vids btw, absolutely DIED at that quick political jab in the middle 😂😂
