Us kids were sitting in our dad's 57 Chevy driving down the freeway when we heard what sounded like a 747 jet aircraft taking off From the Ventura fairgrounds. We found out later it was Hendrix who had just played the Earl Warren showgrounds in Santa Barbara.
Yes - this channel has all kinds of awesome details about Jimi's career. It's very interesting to hear the stories about this historical rise to global super stardom for the Jimi Hendrix Experience.
Great shows youre doing i saw Hindrix twice in 69 at Newport 69 near my home in Nortgridge California i was 16 he played friday night but walked off stage in frustration with the croud but came back sunday for a great jam he had just been busted in canada and under stress i later found out for a young guitarist i muust say it was a tremendous jolt to see the Voodoo Child up close 'thanks for youre great work CHEERS !
Thank you very, very much indeed for your amazing videos. This must be the most meticulously researched Hendrix documentary ever. The detail is amazing, and the way you bring the era and events to life via the sources is excellent. If I have one criticism, it regards the use of a computerised voice to do the narrations. This leads to repeated words or mistakes being spoken if they have not been excised from the original scripts, as well as bizarre intonation or word order at times and some pronunciation errors ("pound two", "fifty-one-saint-anniversary", "crossed the Chanel", "Michelle Jeffrey" and so on). However, please don't take these remarks the wrong way. This is just a minor point concerning what is otherwise an astounding body of work. I am incredibly grateful to you for your efforts.
Thanks for your feedback, you are correct on all counts. My effort has been primarly on the story, but working harder to improve production values. Cheers!
@@BELLY_BUTTON_WINDOW Thank you for your kind response. As I say, I really appreciate your efforts. I am truly looking forward to the next episode. Keep up the good work!
I played guitar for Engelbert in the 90’s, he told me that Jimi played guitar for him, while standing behind the curtain, just as is told in this segment. I always doubted that Jimi would have done that, and now I’m sure it wasn’t him, but probably Noel….
It must have been that year that a Swiss Television crew was sent in France close by to record a show by Johnny Hallyday, and when discovering who was opening the show, they decided not to record Jimi's concert. They will regret it forever !!!
For sure, more or less, fours years of non-stop touring, partying and the pressure (both external as in records co., fans, hangers-on and the self-imposed as in creative). Cheers!
I probably shouldn't be laughing at anything to do with the G.O.A.T., but that has to be the funniest Hendrix thing I've ever seen... how the heck do you get four stitches in your foot from a broken fuzz-box? The thing blow-up or something? Maybe he stamped down on a broken knob dialer... I think only Jimi could do something like that.
Where is all this info from??? or is it patched together info and fill in the many many blanks from the times since know one was recording or writing down all this information 😂😂😂😂
I have been a fan for many years, but to answer your question, research. Everyone knows the general story, I try to provide details that are interesting, and less well known. Cheers!
I prefered his wood stock band, band of gypsies 'nothing but a band of gypsies', I know they are dead but I didn't like the look of Jimis experience backing band .Maybe to cocky looking .

Seen all entries from beginning, but just subscribed...for 60 years I never grow weary of Jimi or his influence. 🕊
Hi James, thanks. Me too. Believe it or not, I'm still learning new things in relation to Hendrix. Cheers!

Nice robot.
@@Unclemoparman who, me? 😆
My grandfather gave directions to the walker brothers to pinewood studios, no one believed him until it reported it in the news. This was in 1967.
Quite possibly. Cheers

Wonderful research!...But I must say, please do not recycle the photos!
We're over that now.
no wonder jimi was burnt out after 3 years of all the madness on tour , in the uk and the usa .

Too long of a pause in between sections
Fair point. We have been shortening them in later episodes, but great to get that feedback. Thankyou!
Too bad about the commercials totally ruins the vibe.
Understand. You can view ad-free, albeit at a cost, on our Sellfy Store, see our information page. Cheers!
