The Astoria is now an evangelical church, pass it a lot when I'm in the area. Always think of Hendrix first burning his guitar there before Monterey. Horrid grim place Finsbury Park these days, seems weird one of rock's seminal moments has its' origins there.
There was two shows at the festival with Jimi Hendrix a day show and a night show I saw the day show I am in the pictures in the audience he probably burned it on the Night Show I will ask around
Wow that must have been a great performance. Yes Jimi did burn the guitaron the Night Show at the Astoria. Thank you for your kind comment. Please stay tuned to this channel for more videos
I'm going to have to check out who the Walker Brothers were... ;) Also, anyone who hasn't seen it should watch Chris Squireäs fabulous retelling of his first encounter with Jimi while preparing for a gig at the Marquee. Squire's cunningly laid-back retelling of it brings out all the many comic points of the story: ua-cam.com/video/eo-lBnTc3So/v-deo.html
