@Thefrogbread he finished 20th in points out of 21 full time drivers. In 2023, he was 23rd in points...only beating one full time driver, and behind a part time driver.
I was at Gateway for your first podium. After you got your helmet off I yelled "way to go David!!!" You looked up smiled and waved. I wanted to make sure you got some love while the crowd cheered for Josef. If that race was a a few laps longer, you would have been there. That was badass!!! Great video, thank you

interesting takes david, i enjoyed hearing your thoughts on these tracks. indy is always S tier, was surprised with milwualkee and indy GP. im looning forward to this season
Love this stuff! Im just starting to get into indycar, and you are definitely my favorite driver. I do a lot of iRacing (hense the name) and always wondered if the dirty air on the ovals was realistic. I would love to know your thoughts if you have tried iRacing!
Was that Banjo-Kazooie music in the background around the 18:30 mark? Great game! Also, nice list. Always great to hear a driver give honest assessments of tracks.
If you like barber you should try and drive Calabogie Motorsports Park. It’s the same track designer and it’s a super fun track to drive. It’s in the middle of nowhere Canada and not a lot of big racing happens there but Multimatic tests all their cars there. I work for a team based at the track and it’s such a great place to drive.
I liked a lot this video and your comments about the tracks, Lil Dave. Keep this videos coming down! I would rate Barber and RA in S tier and Laguna Seca could be Tier A. Nice track, but not as beautiful as the other two.
I am so torn because I always find myself pulling for you and I think that you're a genuinely good guy, but please give my dude Fast Willy P another couple of years before you take that primo Penske seat
I think the selections are accurate. Be cool if some more races were added. Sebring and Daytona (Oval and Road Layout). Feel free to reply and add suggestions. I feel that Daytona would help replace Texas. Don't get me wrong, I love Texas, but the number of attendance was a issue.
You said "very good turn up" instead of "very good turn out" for ST Pete and I think we should say that for now on. Great turn up, almost a sellout once again at the Indy 500
Partially repaved Iowa in 2024 was D. I couldn't stand it. Leaders couldn't even pass lapped cars... Hopefully the track was seasoned a bit this winter so the low lane was not as dominant. Also, typical NASCAR's horrible decision not to repave the entire track to allow the racing line to gradually move up over the next few years. Imagine having Indycars flying along the wall to go fast.
Lots of passing, strategy, high speeds and close battles. Also, while it might not seem like it, ovals can be really different from each other from a drivers' perspective. I'd say the difference in driving style and type of racing between some of the shortest (Martinsville, 0,5 miles) and longest (Talladega, 2,6 miles) ovals is bigger than between any two tracks in the F1 schedule. If you want to understand it better I'd say watch some Indycar/Nascar races on different types of ovals or, even better, race them in an online sim. Sure, driving around on an oval (like many other "simple" actions) is relatively easy, but doing so faster and better than anyone else in the world is extremely challenging and complex.
I will also add this: F1 fans think because the corners are the same direction it makes it easy. The difference is the track is wide, there is no reliable line as the track is constantly changing grip. Most of the time the line seems obvious but when you have to pass and maximize your exit and another car is in front of you, it all changes. You are forced to deal with more issues than you think. The turbulence off the cars, the varying grip as rubber is laid down and tires lose grip. Plus the car is often on the ragged edge. If you see an oval live, the speed is astonishing.
seemingly controversial thumbnail… youre nailing this youtuber thing
Idk real UA-camrs talk about CupcakKe remixes

Jesus dude. Threw a nuke with that thumbnail.
Barber is, honestly the Brands Hatch of the US. I love it just to watch the cars throw themselves around the elevation changes.

Some one is going to have to explain to me how an oval track can be good. F1 fan here. Just want to see from a different point of view.
Oval tracks are amazing. It’s faster racing with action around the entire track. And they are very close together and so much passing.
try it
Watch the Indy 500 from this last year. Incredibly high speeds, close racing, lots of passing. And very dangerous
