- AI could be one of humanity’s most useful inventions. But only if it’s made by people representing our whole society. Including you.
We need a stronger, more inclusive AI community. A community that brings diverse values, concerns, and hopes to the table. Only then, can the whole of humanity truly benefit from this technology. AI for everyone needs AI by you.
We established the DeepMind scholarship programme in 2017 to help build a stronger and more inclusive AI community, who can bring a wider range of experiences to the fields of AI and computer science. The scholarships provide financial support to students from underrepresented groups seeking to graduate studies in AI-related and adjacent fields. Scholars are also offered support from a DeepMind mentor, and have opportunities to attend leading AI academic conferences and DeepMind events.
Over the last five years, the scholarship programme has expanded internationally, and now supports scholars in many more countries currently underrepresented in AI - including Bulgaria, Colombia, Greece, Poland, Romania, South Africa, and Turkey, as well as the UK, USA, Canada, and France.

We need a personal assistant that can manage our lives. That has access to our finances, can apply/file for government benefits, can find and apply for apartments, and can act as legal counsel.

That's probably true but I mean everyone is biased in some way or another. Since ai is developed to think own its granted to have biases because that's just the nature of thinking

Idk if it's fair to advertise it with "ai for everyone" when applicants of certain race or gender are not eligible.
Its hard to build AI when all im concerned about is how im going to pay for rent, All i want to do is work on new ai models and products, but can't because I am stuck in an awful day job barely able to afford rent.

First start coding a bit in python, then do some Maths (linear algebra, differentiation), then do an Intro to neural networks course (like the one on this channel). But start by learning some python programming!
