Man, I’m glad it helped you but I’m still lost. I just bought 3 new plug ins this cyber Monday and installed them today, upgraded to version 11 of waves central cuz it said I had to, but afterwards all my old version 9 plug ins have disappeared and only the 3 new ones are showing up. I’m so confused and pretty annoyed at this point as I’m just computer literate enough to use logic at all, this troubleshooting thing is over my head 🤷🏻♂️☠️
Thanks a ton bro! This worked for me. I searched all over forums and no one was mentioning the Library>Audio>components delete. This also solved my problem of Logic rescanning all my plugins every time I launched the application. Thanks again!
Oh man, thanks so much for this! I was tearing my hair out trying to understand why Logic wouldn't load 90% of my Waves plugins. I had already done a complete uninstall and reinstall of Waves, including clearing out all Waves files from /Users/me/Library/. But I didn't think to look in /Library as well! And that was the key, as you said. As soon as I cleared out all references to Waves 9.92, everything was fine. I did think that Logic saying I had over 1100 plugins sounded like a bit too many - it should have been 650!. Thanks again, really appreciate you making a video on this.

Dude! You ROCK! Fixed it. Just upgraded from V9-V12 and had the exact same issue. Every time I launched Logic it would rescan EVERYTHING which took almmost 5 minutes each time. I've been waiting for 4 days to hear back from Waves support but thanks to you I'm up and running. Thanks so much!
@@A.Panthera Not sure if you have v12 but I love the way you can now expand the size of the plugins on your monitor from the old standard "tiny" size that was so hard to see.

Thanks for your help finally got it 3 hours later. Deleted everything waves and just reinstalled and checked for 9 versions only. This was the most ridiculous thing ever XD
I have struggled to make this work.. I now have NONE of my V9 plug ins showing up in logic. You were the most recent person on this thread so I'm reaching out for help.. I'm trying the advice on the waves site and following this video and everything. I have tried to remove any V9 files but now they arent showing up.. have I done something wrong?!
Are you trying to install v10 or v9 plugins? I only had v9 plugins that I needed
It sounds like u did it right make sure nothing shows up but then install the V9 legacy thing once it’s all deleted. Then they should be there. The steps on the website are pretty accurate except it doesn’t say to delete everything prior.
I don't see the waves logo in plug-ins. What are the first steps you're saying I should try regarding preferences or cache?!?!

I had a problem with Logic not activating my V10 plugins. Even reinstalling everything did not solve the problem. I solved it by erasing every reference to V9 shell in the Library. I had some difficulties in finding the Library where the Plugins are stored in Mojave. You must check the system Library from main Hard Disk (NOT the user) , check audio/plugins/components and remove Waveshells 9 or any reference to V9. Then you must reinstall your plugins (version 10 ONLY !!! ) and Logic will be able to load and activate them .

So I got a new Mac and I was trying to get everything set up on the new Mac and I ran into this problem, for some reason as soon as I go to PLUG-INS I don’t see WPAPI or any waves at all in the folder. I only found 2 folders titled “Waves” and “Waves Audio” in the Cashe folder. Any idea what I should do?

I re downloaded v9 and Installed them onto logic but all I get on logic is the old v10s that couldn’t be open . I don’t see my v9 I just installed
I'm running into a very rare issue. My logic is up to date, waves central and its products all support the current macOS, and it says my products are installed/ activated. when i go into the plugin manager it says this too. This is why I dont think its a logic issue either. however, when I check the audio units in FX it still is not there and i am not sure why. i have followed each step very carefully and it worked the first day but I closed logic and it when i reopened it was back to not working. I've been at this for days. Please help if possible.

I have a strange issue happening with me. Have Logic Pro X running on Mac High sierra. For one, when I'm in plugin manager I'll see a whole bunch of my Pro tools plugins in their like Xpand2 and Structure Vacuum Pro etc, and they'll have those checkmarks beside them for "use" and will say "Succ..Compatible" too. Although when I rescan selection they won't show up. Now I'm not sure if my pro tools plugins should be compatible or not but why would Logic Pro X say that they are compatible and in use when they aren't. Mind you I've restarted my laptop many times aswell as logic.
My other issue is with installing 3rd party plugins. I went to Bedroomproducersblog which is a credible site that shows you the best Vsts and plugins that are for free. I decided to start off by getting 64 bit MacOS versions for Surge Synthesizer and Voloco. The installation was super quick and easy. And just like every step I took in these tutorial vids, I copy pasted all of what effects/instruments that were in the form of components vst3 or Au or Vst into the right folders on my MacOS library/audio/plugins/components or whatever they needed to go. I've double checked and everything I'd need to copy paste has been put in the right place, and I've restarted my Mac and logic to make sure of it. Now, what's annoying is that the manufacturer and the plugins themselves will show up in the Plugin Manager, and I'll even select them to do a rescan and they pass every category. Strangely enough, most of them also don't appear in the actual library to use them just like my Protools plugins. It aggrevates me to do the necessary steps and to see that the program Logic recognizes them and claims that they're approved and pass the tests, but they don't appear. What's really weird though, is my Surge Plugin for example has an effects component and an instrument component (or whatever you'd call it). I have access to the Surge effects in my main library but not the instrument part it doesn't make any sense. And Voloco straight up appears in the plugin manager but no in the library.
I've also tried re installing these plugins on multiple occasions where I either install it on my external seagate harddrive or just the internal MacOS storage and neither are working.
I feel like I'm out of options, can someone help

What you left out was to run the Waves AU Reg Utility5 10.0 in Macintosh Hd
/Application/Waves/Waves shells. Run all the regs and logic will find everything i really nearly throw my computer in the ocean....lmao

Having a couple of issues if anyone can help. I went through the same process and I couldn't find any Waveshells V9. Everything was 10. Its STILL not showing up on the audio units. I don't know if its because I'm running a demo of a pug in but that shouldn't be an issue. Anyone have any tips?

Great video! Thanks for this! Can you please tell me how I stop this really annoying & time-consuming "Scanning Audio Units" process EVERY TIME I open the app? It's crazy that every time I open the app it spends 10-15 minutes re-scanning the audio units!! :( :( I'm sure that this is not supposed to be happening every time I open the app...

My plugins still aren't showing up. When I go to the Audio folder and click on Component or Vst nothing shows up. not even the Waves logo shows up.

Zahair Audio I didn’t buy them it’s my cousin’s wave central. However, his license won’t sync onto my computer. It says tht it’s successful, I deleted all the V9 plugins, and I restarted my computer. It’s really annoying. My family keep saying they will help, but it’s taking too long.

When you reboot your Logic Pro x does it rescan au plugins all over again?
I was able to solve the issues by manually deleting all waves 8,9,10 that were in my computer and I reinstalled the waves 10 and that solved it.
i kinda have this problem some of the v10 plugins are wortking some don't im on mojave iOS but my waves is a Crack... xd soo yeah ...

I need to downgrade Catalina..Nothing works..Just got a new powermac (good news) bad news..nithings supported yet.
I tried all this and more to no accord. I bought and installed several Wave Plugins all together, and there is one that just isn't showing up in the DAW - "Waves PRS Super Model Amps". It is showing up as a stand alone application on my Mac but not as a plug in via my DAW. I can't figure it out. All the plugins are V10... why is this the only one not showing up? I have scoured the internet and tried everything
