    It'd be nice if you could just manually sit the lazer where you wanted home to be, then set an option in lightburn to make the current location 'home'

      You may have hidden the window accidentally. You can click "WINDOW" then "RESET TO DEFAULT" to set the layout back.

      I have lots of videos under the lightburn play list. Framing is based on the design or intended use

      Run absolute and just home the machine. A camera will help make alignemnt quicker.

    Do you intend to get the XTool 40 watt module? Do you see a need for it? I got the bundle (10 watt w/40 watt upgrade) and I know I will be using the 10 watt a bit but also want to use the 40...it has been difficult for me, a very new user, to get much in the way of settings for the 40 watt...I suppose by the time you read and maybe reply to this, I will have ran it and tried it out...I am in the process of building your enclosure but not as tall...also I will be burniong the jog kit which I also purchased...I will be using the 40 for cutting that out. I will use low power and fast speed to get my settings...ordered 16" x 16" basswood ply for this kit.

    Great video. I have an xtool D1 Pro 20 watt. When Lightburn goes to home position, it slams the X and Y axis of the laser. Can I stop it from doing this? Thanks.

    • @TheClackShack
      @TheClackShack  Рік тому

      The limit switches should prevent that. I never had an issue with my D1 pro doing that. You can slow down the home speed in console and also make sure that the back left corner is where it is set to home to.

    Great tips! I downloaded your template files and looking forward to building them. I like the idea of X1, Y1 since I have tried the home button and the laser will bang against the side and back rails sometimes and you can hear the belt slipping. Also, the wiring to the laser can interfere with getting exactly to 0.,0 by hand if the zip ties don't keep it above the gantry.
    One question, though. Do you always start from 0, 0 by hand, then use absolute coordinates like many people recommend? Or can you start from 1,1?
    Thanks again! subscribed!

      I normally don’t worry about it in the initial burn. I use the frame function to be sure of placement. When mass producing items and running multiple engraves, I use the return after function to eliminate the need for framing

    Hello friend, first of all thanks for the instructions.
    In my LightBurn, in "Working Size", I left it as 420mm x 400mm; this, in order not to activate the Limit Sensors of the xTOOL D1.
    In "Origin", I didn't change it but, can I leave it as Bottom Left?
    In "Return to Finish Position", what does the X: 1.0 and Y: 1.0 mean?
    Does 1.0 mean 1mm by any chance? Thank you again

      The x and y axis operate in mm measurements. It is a coordinate system that the machines uses. Most machines, it is located in the top left corner just short of 0-0. Keeps non-limit switch machines from slamming.

    Ok you confirmed that the return to has no effect on the home position as far as running the program. I am pretty sure you also now have the 20 watt diode. Does it fit in return to y1 x1. Or did you change that to y? X? I have the D1 pro 20 Watt still in box right now while I study. I am currently more Metal. Langmuir crossfire pro. Plasma table. But I see lotsa possibility with my new TOY.

    • @TheClackShack
      @TheClackShack  2 роки тому

      Most machines will hit the limit switches and back away then reapproach. I will say that if your travel speed is over 50, it makes it worse.

      @@TheClackShack Sorry, but I don't yet understand how this works, as I haven't been able to play with mine much yet. I'm not sure what you mean by "rehome". I understand how the Ortur works with the limit switches, but the D1 is still somewhat of a mystery. So, at the risk of sounding a little dense [hasn't stopped me yet ;-) ], say you have moved the head manually. How do you "rehome", and then how go to 1,1?

    • @TheClackShack
