We were supposed to get a Boot Barn in our town but unfortunately it fell through which is probably just as well because I would probably have spent too much time and money in there. Glad to see you guys take some time to have a little fun and sharing it with us . A Happy Fathers Day to you both.
Totally off topic, but I thought I'd put it here: 1. You don't seem to do a lot of boat shoes. Are there no Goodyear-welted boat shoes? 2. What are some good brands of walking shoes that are easy to get on and off, can take a beating, are long-lasting (ie. leather), relatively cool-ish in hot weather, and are repairable? Thanks! Keep up the good work with the videos!
Love, love, love my ostrich and kidskin western boots. Alas, I can no longer wear them because of the arthritis in my knees. I can't wear any shoes or boots that have much if any lift in the heel.
Hey guys. Hope you’re doing well. It’s been a while! Fun video! I was in Nashville a few years ago. A friend who lives there told me that everyone HAS to have a pair of cowboy boots, knowing that I’m not a cowboy boots kind of guy. 😊 But, I ended up buying a pair of black boots at the Lucchese store. I almost had to take out a second mortgage on the house to get these bad boys, but I admit - they are quite nice. The quality seems very good. I don’t wear them much in Minneapolis, but occasionally it is fun to surprise people and show up in them! Lol. Take care.
I enjoyed this one - it was fun to tag along on your field trip. Just curious...why did you guys pick that shop? I bought boots at Tecovas the last time I was in Nashville and love them! So many great options in Nashville.
Hey guys, I got a pair of Iron Ranger's for Father's Day. I was thinking about getting them branded "Father's Day 2023" somewhere, likely on the inside or outside of the ankle near the top. Anything I should be concerned about regarding a branding?
Just make sure the brand isn’t so hot and/or pushed onto the leather too long or else the brand wont turn out well and may look charred. We have a heat brander than we use all the time, and we’ve made that mistake many times. Make sure to practice on a scrap piece of leather first.
The sales lady trying to tell guys who build boots how they should fit 😂😂I bet she would have been amazed if she knew what those two guys do for a living LOL
i hope they take back with them how cowboy boots are supposed to be designed. and change those socalled boots they got for sale. stop charging extra for the toe bug.
WHY WHY WHY ? Why Do People always do this? . when people try on a pair of Boots they always walk bowlegged.. on purpose.. like they been riding bull for life..... Just Walk . and you will get the true feel of the boot ...
I can't wear real cowboots any longer. I have lots foot issues, long story. I can wear a Roper type because the heel is not high at all. I have a black pair. I wear them if I have to wear a coat and tie. They get little use. Mostly I wear Thorogoods moc toes for work / daily tasks. Sort, soles are soft, my feet like that. If you have good feet, you like cowboy boots, rock on. I would if I could. However, over time your parts wear out, and for me it was my feet.
That poor lady is gonna get roasted for explaining what a toe box is to them. What she should have done is tell the Nick's Boots guys the difference between a boot and a roper.
Haha…their Customer Service was so good that we all just stood there and went along with it. Afterwards, we all explained to her what we all did but thanked her for the great info.
If the Nicks boys are watching, maybe we see some side zip ropers coming out of Washington State?? Take a look at the Lucchese Jonahs for some inspiration, but then beef it up for the PNW crowd. I'm a buyer!
I don't think there's a decent cowboy boot store in Nashville. The best one I could think of is Lucchese Boots, which are still lacking in quality. These boots you're showing in the video are cheaply made. Rubber welted. And the leather is not the best quality. They are show off boots rather than something mean to be worn a lot. Go to a different state for cowboy culture.
The salesperson made it seem so easy to understand how to get a good fitting pair of cowboy boots
Man. I gotta get me down to Nashville and see if they got cowboy/cowgirl boots for super wide feet. Those ones with the turquoise looked awesome.
@chrissperling9148 that's really good to know.
I'm wearing my Southern Polished sandles now. Make sure to thank Rose Anvil...his sandle breakdown convinced me to make the leap. They are top notch!

Nice to see an out on location video ☺
More to come!
Cavender's Boots is THE store around here in Texas. I'm a Lucchese Boots fan, myself.
I haven't been fortunate enough to go to Cavenders,,, but Lucchese yes.
Boot Barn is popular in Texas as well.
Love, love, love my ostrich and kidskin western boots. Alas, I can no longer wear them because of the arthritis in my knees. I can't wear any shoes or boots that have much if any lift in the heel.
Man, I can’t wait to see what other videos you guys collaborated on. That lady was very good in her description of what to look for in a cowboy boot
I enjoy your vids, but I really appreciate you sharing your dad’s channel. I love his point of view on things as well as his sense of humor.
I just shared that with him, and that made his Father’s Day more than hanging out with us two. 😉👍
Can’t wait to go back to Nashville, such a great place. 👍🏻

someone showing those guys about fitment, leather, etc,etc had to be a kick in the nuts to them because nothing is better than northwest boots
i think my next pair of cowboy boots are going to be custom. looking at a couple boot makers in TX
Pretty cool for they to come down and visit. Awesome choice of boots they both bought. Have a blessed weekend gentlemen.

My sister loves a cowboy boot. I've been known to wear my father's boots in my teens.
I was there in December and that store was awesome and Jacks BBQ was good as well.
great content. Love that you're collaborating with Nicks book. I would love to one day visit Nashville during the CMA. Thumbs up :)
I need to get to TN.
I'm also from WA (Western WA). Have fun gentlemen.
Very very southern feeling. I like it.

Watching your Dad's videos before yours on Sat morning...
See that’s what I’ve always wondered, does ariat use real leather for they’re work boots like work hogs or other styles
Can we expect you guys getting back to a weekly shoe rebuild show?
Is it possible to turn pointy-toed cowboy boots into square-toed boots?
Nothing beats hanging with your buddies.
What do you use to colour the soles I’ve got some soles that have lost their colour on what do you suggest?
i hope they take back with them how cowboy boots are supposed to be designed. and change those socalled boots they got for sale. stop charging extra for the toe bug.

I wondered if Grant rode a horse to the shop.

El Paso is the cowboy boot capital Nashville has nothing on that . El Paso is only second to Leon in Guanajuato
Via Condotti elevator shoes thats amouré
why no square toe?
@Chris Sperling easy there cowboy, clip toe up to medium square are A-ok.
@chrissperling9148 Amen. All this square toe is a new thing. 50 years ago, there were no square toed boots. Very popular with city people though.
@@sisleymichael yes there were.
@scottcooksey5284 I'm 65 and never saw them when I was young. I grew up in west Texas. Never saw them until much later.
@@sisleymichael your right about the wide square toe,,, but clip toe and up to medium square were around,,, remember Dingo boots?

Nah, she did a fantastic job of keeping it simple, clear, and understandable for the audience.
Too much of a city boy for these lol!!!
Shame on you guys for asking that lady to explain how to size a cowboy boot.

They could call them Dopers
… they don’t look great on the first guy
