I want to get this job when I’m older is it fun?
As a long time trucker, I never used the first link of the chain on the trailer door.
Use the second link, and the chain will remain tight, thereby preventing the door from opening while backing.
At your next truck stop when you're done for the day, run inside and look for the Nite-Ize section. They have bright green or orange gear ties that you loop through your trailer doors to secure them. No need for chicken wire.
Or thick rubber bands….
Alex love the vids man! been a trucker for 22 years now still love it. I would suggest you slow down on the use of the hand sanitizer usage its recommended to use it a max of 3 times then wash your hands with soap and water. the hand sanitizer ends up making a jell barrier that bacteria and viruses grow on. I use alcohol prep pads after a couple usages or even a standard wet wipe to clean my hands after messing with the trailer doors.
Should use paper towel after that to get it off.
I just use wet wipes
Use gloves.
Dude, Get a pair of tin snips. Much easier. You're not cutting bolts!
Good to see that your keeping safe Alex, despite all the traffic and crashes, and good to see your number of subs going up. 🙏🥰🌟✌
7:25 you don’t need chicken wire. Get a couple of black rubber bungees! Secure one to the trailer floor under the door and pull the middle of the bungee and hook it to the trailer.
Ok, girl here thinking about going into trucking, and this job takes some true driving skills. Props to all you truck drivers
there are Amish in Ohio but its Lancaster, PA you are thinking about.
I just found your videos last night and seen you came to my town and my old job and picked up from lol but I start my classes next week to get my cdls.need all the luck. Love the videos bud
You’re getting 2??
I wrote plural but people knew what I meant
30:12 Alex, do you ever pull on the trailer brakes to make sure your tandems are locked? I didn’t see you do that. You should always bump check your tandems.
Totally illegal to have stuff on windshield in line of site, it drives me nuts to see drives doing this
Love you’re vids Alex. But you seriously need to remember more things I don’t know how you always forget where you are.
Get a foam football to put between the trailer doors..it will work perfect..stay safe buddy
Hey, just a little piece of wire. I worked as a yard switcher. We hook t chain to the bar then twisted tie it down so it won’t pop off.
I believe you would come around the back of the bar. On top. Then twisted tie it off.
They were thin wire about 18” long bent in half.
Look around some yards, you little wires thrown on the ground. Ask the switchers for some.
We had an ass load of things.
Mike
And a magnet bar on the front of your trucks to pick them up
Get a pair of pliers Alex and squeeze the little link on the door latch closer and that will solve the problem of the door coming unlatch
Too much steering wheel play when backing once you're set no need to make major adjustments on that steering wheel
Unless you're there he can do as he needs to adjust his backing..every driver is different
That tanker was food grade, cooking oil.
You could turn your cb on and get traffic info. And also, I’d suggest a couple of those black bungee straps to secure your trailer doors
Secondary securement device? It's not the trailer's fault, it's YOUR responsibility!
Love your channel Alex... but that wimpy Freightliner horn cracks me up. Keep truckin' buddy.
Alex hook the trailer doors on the 2nd chain link, then loop the first link over to lock it in, should stop the swinging open
Good job!!!! Easier to do a 90 degree with this back. It would give you more room to maneuver around you trailer tandems pivot point. Also practice in safe and easy areas to as much as possible. My trucking skills is the best channel imo. I do drive for gp transco. Lol stay safe friver!!!
It is no where close to Amish that is in Holmes County , Ohio Lancaster is the home Anchor Hocking glass wares.Beautiful craftsmanship.
Hirschbach would fire us for pulling over to the side to fix that!
Yeah, mine works on the dash.
Alex is the only one that honks at a parked truck 😂😂😂😂
I was honking at that car behind the parked truck and flashing my brights to tell the car behind the parked truck to get in front of me to get around the parked truck
Guess your not a trucker !!
Pay attention he was trying to get the attention of the cars beside him to go around him....they were being moronic
Nah he wasn’t honking on anything behind, check the mirrors there was nobody behind him. He clearly doesn’t know the basics of driving a semi, !!
@@ALEXTHETRUCKINGGUYthat was a mouth full lol
When are you going to do another cooking video. 😊 I'm a otr truck driver here in Canada live your content
Lancaster, PA not OHIO is where Amish lives
Lots of Amish 30 minutes south of Lancaster Ohio around Laurelville and Tarlton Ohio route 56
They are selling nice vegetables right now in August
Alex use the 2nd or 3rd chain link to get the door tighter
You were only like 20 mins from me in Herrin Illinois I heard the zip code man I woulda liked to check out your truck
You should go stay in Nappanee, Indiana or Shipshewanna, Indiana. You would get to learn about the amish and talk to them. They even have amish museum Shipshewanna.
Good job Alex really enjoy your videos i used to drive truck from California to New York and Boston going to Pennsylvania. I would see the Amish with the horses and buckboard work in the field. Pretty cool.
Lancaster, Pa is where lots of Amish live, not Lancaster, ohio
Ohio has em too.
The Lancaster you are thinking is in PA.
Just buy a couple of snap hooks for the door chains. Problem solved! 😊
Tip for doors that don't stay open: Never hook the first loop. Always aim for the 4th loop. The tension will keep the door from rocking and it won't come loose
There’s a nice new loves right there in Lancaster off of 33 and 188
Get some zip ties loop through chain and the trailer body hole where hook is . Or get a roll of string and cut when needed.
you're getting angrier and angrier at the gps. fierce with the scroll down!!!
turn your CB radio while your driving your truck you would here about the accident and traffic back up
Ever since the last Garmin update I've not been able to get the voice commands to work well.
LMAO Alex your crazy funny 😂
Personally, I always have a secondary securement (you can use zip ties or gear ties), to make sure that my trailer doors don't swing. It easy and cheap way to keep your doors from not hitting anything and getting undone.
They don't teach you how to back up like this in training??
There is nothing crazy about Lancaster Ohio except there is a lot of hiking at state parks
I bet the doors swung open because they are Teal colored
Hey Alex really love your videos. i have a question for you man. Why do you slide the tandems after you back in? why dont you move them before you back is there a reason why or thats the procedure
You wait until after you back in because you have better maneuverability in tight situations with the tandems slid forward
At 1 mill subs, have you considered doing a live stream special? Great video btw
I would love a live stream❤
Lancaster, PA!!
There's a Lancaster, OH also. And a Lancaster, CA, SC, NY, KY and VA.
@@craigdarby9533 haha yeah, the founders of towns/cities weren't all that original when naming them.
buy two bungle rubber straps to hold open trailer doors
You're talking about Lancaster, PA, not OH.
2 bungee cords will solve the problem with the doors coming loose.Use them when backing into tight situations or curb jumping.
I recommend you open your driver door when you nack so you have more visibility.
That's a good way to fall out possibly, you don't need to do that anyway in a cascadia you can see perfectly
Maybe just get some rubber scrap and poke a hole in it smaller than the trailer hook. Put the door chain in then push the rubber keeper over it. Enjoy the channel.
Hi Alex I love your videos. Quick question. How much do you make in a week? And hope you don’t mind me asking . Thanks
Lancaster,PA is where the Amish are. However as someone who is from PA you see Amish everywhere. You don’t have to go to just Lancaster. Whenever you’re in Amish country definitely check out their stalls and businesses. Their snacks are so good!
Hey Alex I am wondering what GoPros you use
The Amish are near Lancaster, PA.
Amish live in Lancaster pa love the videos keep up the good work
When will you upload the full video that you install a led tv?
You’re thinking of Lancaster, PA
There's about 10 states with a Lancaster, Ohio included.
@@craigdarby9533 I understand, I’m referring to him mentioning about seeing Amish. They mainly reside in Lancaster, Pa.
What gps navigation system you are using for ur routes
The loves app tells you all the store locations
Rain X! My man!
damn…that sucks
Gp picking up yellow freight customers. Crappy docks half in half outside. Simple box truck loading area.
Edited::: hey you know a simple snipe cutters would be easier. Cuts those aluminum or plastic ties right off. Quicker than bolt cutters.
How many miles do you usually drive on the daily ?
The Amish are in Lancaster, PA.
Idk how Lancaster OH, but Lancaster (lan-kiss-ster not lan-cast-er) PA has a large Amish community.
And yes people from Lancaster PA hate when it’s pronounced “cast-er” instead of “kiss-ter” lol
Amen. I live right outside Lanc.
alex another tight back slide the tandems forward til you get lind up.😂❤
they wont want to make a friend with you
You’re are so cool and the accidents are not good. Hopefully the people OK.🎉
Lancaster, Pennsylvania
Ohio has a Lancaster also, along with about 9 other states.
Why the tanker hate? I love my tanks! Short and stubby 40 footers that I can park anywhere! Granted.... it's usually melty or flame juice... so yeah.
Most parts stores will have mechanic's wire.
I love kosher truck stops tho 😂
Alex how do you edit and upload these videos so fast
I’m pretty sure you are thinking of Lancaster, Pennsylvania not Ohio. They do have a large Amish community there.
He sure is
They're in Ohio too
All those parking spots and he had to park beside the driver with his trailer doors open lol now that driver has to pull out of his spot to get his trailer doors closed.....
Love the videos.... but your "backing up skills" drive me crazy........ can't imagine why you had so much trouble backing in of the street to that on customer. It doesn't get any easier than that!! Best of luck!!
Love your vids man
Ive seen tin foil thicker than that seal.
did you play American truck simulator when you were younger ?
Toquayo just make sure u have 2 bungee cord ready by ur catwalk everytime u need to open ur trailer doors🤙🤙🤙🤙
Sorry to let you know, but a lot of the Amish is in Lancaster Pennsylvania and you said where can you get chicken wire to help secure your doors just find metal coat hangers and if you’re over in the Allentown Bethlehem area send a shout out
Was you on 65 today heading south towards Louisville? If so, I seen you near North Vernon. : )
Lancaster, Pennsylvania is where the Amish are,Alex
Where do you live in Pennsylvania? I live in Pittsburgh.
Witness an accident and passing on after the fact two different things all together
Next video he will witness a 100 year old tree growing...
Also tomorrow he'll drive 1800 miles
@@mijkosnook7787 and be parked by 1500
Lol, he’s a sensation!!
He knows how to get views. He’s more of a UA-camr than a Driver. If anyone ever runs out of blinker fluid, it’s him.
He’s a very good driver imo. Nobody’s perfect I get that but he does make some decisions in backing that he will get much better at. The set-up to back is where it’s at. The shorter distance you travel backwards is always best.
Chicken wire 😂, No Brother, No… Bungee cords
chill out alex it is every day affair in chicago area
GP should put dog leash clips, or industrial equivalent, on their trailer door chains so they stay secure when going over bumps.
put a bundle strap on the trailer and hook it to side of your trailer
Automatic truck?
Alex, why do you slide the tandems back at every pick up?
We slide the tandems to the rear of the trailer to make it easier and safer for the forklift operator. If the tandems are slid forward...the weight of the forklift will make the rear of the trailer bounce especially when moving pallets of freight in and out of the trailer.
@@JohnMarwickOTR I understand, I only slide the tandems to the back if we were un-hooking from the trailer
I use to think it was annoying but now the sound of those hazard lights has become soothing.
Chicago with all their fregging, toll roads
How in the world did you pass your cdl backing tests?
By backing correctly obviously, no backing setup is the same for every situation nor is anyone perfect every time, he didn't hit anything so who cares how he gets it done...
depends on where you take your test. For example, PA you do a straight back and also parallel park the truck but in Wisconsin you do a straight back and also do a 90-degree dock back.
Amish country is Lancaster Pennsylvania
YOU EVERY MAKE IT TO ERIE PA
