      The Beetronics Octahive....can sound like garbage or like a dream with a small change in amp EQ. I almost sold my Octahive because of that. The octahive is staying....the amp is packing its bags.

    Great demonstration. Incredible how each fuzz invites you to play different styles. I love the Axis Fuzz. Although the Big Muff is a complete monster!

    The Broadcast is probably my favorite pedal for distortion/drive (out of about 40 drive/fuzz pedals that I own).
    It is a fundamentally different type of circuit than anything else out there. It is a transformer-coupled germanium driven pre-amp, of the sort that used to be used in all sorts of audio products (mixing consoles etc). There are a million clones of fuzz faces, tube screamers, Ratts, Tone Benders, etc. The Broadcast is something completely different. And AWESOME!
    Glad to see it in your mix!

      I’m looking into this pedal because of its dual foot switch and variety of gain on tap, and I really like it’s high gain sounds, but I would wanna use the red side as a low/mid drive John Mayer-y tone, and the Green side to blast into heavy drive like he does in this video.
      Can the Broadcast do both? Would love your input

    So glad to see the Axis Fuzz! This is my all-time favorite fuzz and I've yet to find anything that can replace it on my board. The level of dynamics on the Axis is fantastic. I love all the Roger Mayer stuff.

    WTF? Thanks Budda, nice information you give here for those who are discovering that World of Muff N Fuzz.
    I also try to get as many different amps and use them with a variety of different pedals and combinations because as you said pedals sound completely different depending on what amplifier that they're going into.
    Way back in the day I used the Tone Bender by Colour Sound for a nice smooth effect and their Fuzz,Suzz,wah pedal for the more crazy shizz.
    Now use a EHX Big Bass Muff for my Strat because it has an effect out and a dry signal output.
    For Christmas I now have the Monterey Special 'custom Germanium' it took a little bit of getting used to but now I'm loving it. It really is Hendrix in a box and some more what is really amazing for its tiny size.
    I look forward to your next video and many more through the years

    hi, i have the first commercial version of the Axis RM in a black spaceship and Autographed by RM, but it doesn't sound too similar to my ears. The black one sounds amazing and it need a certain amount of crunch or volume from the amp to sound optimal. As you said, it clears with the guitar volume and his feedback is really musical.

    • @BuddaGuedes
      @BuddaGuedes  6 років тому +1

      VINYLHEAD 66 fuzz pedals sound completely different depending on the amp your using and the amp settings. Fuzz pedals are super sensitive to everything .

      I've seen a couple internal pictures of soem 80's Axis Fuzzes and some of the newer ones (the orange spaceship) and there is one less resistor and one less capacitor in the later.

    Once again, you are really helpful :) I was up to order Hudson Broadcast and after this video I'm sure I want it. I don't use fuzz a lot, but a beautiful low gain boost it's enough for me to get one.

      Tomekgmz hey! What a great thing. The broadcast can cover a lot of ground. And it’s my favorite drive at the moment. I have 2 now. One on my main big board and another on my nano+ board, I take to generic gigs where I don’t know what I’ll play, and to Budda Power Blues’s Blues Experience shows.

    Thank you Buddy! Fuzz tones are what I'm working on now. I'm kind of thinking of fuzz with octave. I trying to decide on EHX Octavix or maybe Voodoo Labs Proctavia. I want that Hendrix type fuzz but I know nothing of fuzz yet. For that do I need silicone or germanium fuzz? I heard he used both

    • @BuddaGuedes
      @BuddaGuedes  6 років тому +1

      Hendrix used a lot of different fuzzes. The most important thing is for you to test it in your rig, because fez pedals are super sensitive with whatever else you use with it. Amp, guitar cable, other pedals, etc. Germanium is more sensitive to temperature, and electrical interferances.

    nunca consigo encontrar bons reviews do broadcast com les paul, e por isso gostava de pedir a opiniao a quem mais entende do assunto! seria viável usar este pedal com uma les paul, ligada a um marshall vintage modern (settings praticamente clean, com o som quase a distorcer)? Ando com essa ideia ha uns tempos, mas como nao tenho como experimentar fico sempre na duvida...
