I love the small detail at 12:01 when Sakuya uses her time stop to casually just pick up the rest of her knives mid conversation. XD The attention to detail in these are nothing short of amazing.
This is exactly the sort of visual clusterfuck and visual spectacle that I'd expect a bullet hell in 3d to be. Great stuff and got a chuckly over the implication that Sakuya had to pick up all the knives she had been throwing.
She was, but there was a "Vampire Incident" before the events of EoSD. A vampire (presumably Remilia) started to take over Gensokyo, and it took an extremely strong youkai (likely Yukari) to defeat her. That's when the spell card rules were created.
And when she's fully awake and feeling froggy...that's when Reimu, after possibly getting her ass handed to her on a silver platter...will give up her useless pride and call me to deal with Yukari.
Yeah, cos unlike later minusT animations, in this one characters still have emotions and facial expressions rather than goofy smiles(like in subterrarian stars) Tbh don't listen to me, those minor issues are nothing in comparsion with the amount of effort involved in theese animations and quality of result. Keep it up minusT, u got a well-deserved like!
I loved all of it. But the most noteworthy moment was when I bursted out laughing at Yukari using the train because I thought Reimu got hit by it, but nope, she flew right through it from start to end.
I like how Yukari started with acting all chill, casting spells with fingers and one hand. But when Sakuya joined and they cooperated she goes both hands for casting lol
Remember seeing this years ago when I was still in middle school. Really nice memory, definitely the first and most satisfying 3D Touhou battle for me.
Actually, the whole Spell Card system was developed mainly by Reimu and was first properly used in the Scarlet Mist incident, so its actually not that old. Any incidents before that were mainly test runs to see if the system works. It was developed so that weak youkai, spirits and humans have a chance to defeat much stronger beings. In fact, the whole thing was designed by Reimu so that Youkai would have a chance in beating her in a fair match. Her ultimate Fantasy Nature (Musou Tensei), was originally so powerful it was banned until Marisa gave it a proper name and limitation as it literally made her untouchable to any and all attacks against her.
Suwako, along with everything else related to the Moriya Shrine, appeared in Gensokyo after PoFV. Now that's something i definetely wouldn't call “native”.
I loved how Sakuya's options/orbs were mechanical knife reloaders/launchers. Not really the usual aesthetic for SDM members, but it looked cool nonetheless.
5 years old, but still as epic as new. This masterpiece is unbelievable, surreal. How can people dislike this ? When you see that, the rules of the universe itself force you to like this, to enjoy it from every part of your being. This animation is the most beautiful I've ever seen, including the other ones with Koishi for example. And I can't imagine all the work you must put into it. I don't care how much time I must wait for your other masterpieces, I'll wait patiently, knowing that in the end, everything will be worth it. Thank you, your animations make my life brighter.

Nah, he released multiple "Making of [x]" videos where he shows some of the making process. There's a tool for symmetrical duplication of objects, and it's possible to define the animation keyframes for one object and have its duplicates replicate the movement symmetrically. There's no way in the world somebody animates tens (or hundreds?) of thousands of bullets one by one.

Holy... Bullet... Hell...!! Completely and utterly worth the wait! minusT, you've outdone yourself again. Congratulations on setting a new unofficial record, for the largest number of Touhou characters appearing in any one 3D Danmaku fight, be that through MMD or Blender. Just in the way all this was framed and lovingly brainstormed, going by the all the different moves and references used, it had me watching with bated breath. I can't overstate this... Amazing!! You know... if ever there was a chance, if ever, to make a fully-fledged live action movie to do with Touhou, you would be one of the first to be brought onto the production team I reckon...
The way I see the dialogue going at the ending: Reimu: So we beat you Yukari, Now you'll fix it as promised Yukari: Oh? I honestly have no idea what you are talking about Reimu: Seriously? The rift between the netherworld and here Yukari: Oh that! Now when did I say that I would fix it if you won Reimu: WHAT!!!
And the fact that it took THREE PEOPLE shows just how powerful Yukari is. I've fought with everyone in Gensokyo at least once. The only one who was ever able to match me...and actually best me...was Yukari.
I know this is four years old, but my god it's still incredible. That Border of Wave and Particle was insane, the quality and comedic timing is on point, and looking back it's amazing to see how much talent and skill you already were able to put into these animations.
Ran: Yukari-sama, we have a problem...they have discovered the z-axis. Yukari: Oh just 3d? Don't worry, there are many more than 3 dimensions to move through.
Okay one of my favorite things is video game fights brought to pre-rendered 3D visual media... That is to say, video. That way, the maker has total freedom with every movement; No need to make it work with a system, it's fully dynamic movement. Minus T takes this to a whole new level, blasting past, like, 3 other "whole new level" stages. Blown out of the water. I love this, and I am so, so grateful to Minus T that this exists. Truly beautiful. I wish more people did this, especially if they did it this dang well!
I don't know if this has been mentioned before. But if you slow the video around 7:29 or so, there's a glimpse of sakuya putting the knife. It's such a nice little touch.
As always you have exceeded my expectations. Gorgeous, amazing, and I most certainly love the idea that rather than just the general boss placed in a 3D plain, the whole fight was something new and special with the girls putting strategy into their attacks, changing up Yukari's own plan of fire, yet staying true to her spells. Amazing work as always! Utsuho will probably be just as great I'll say that much... but I still hope to see Eirin (or) Kaguya and Mokou SOMEday ^^' ...Or maybe BOTH! like a Kaguya/Eirin team in the fashion of the teams put together for the playable characters of IN. Of course this could just be my own thinking too far into it, you do whatever you feel is best. all the same I think this just makes me happier to know Koishi will be coming sooner than expected. Possibly Byakuren sooner as well... God I would love to see my favorite girl of the whole series in 3D action! I'm thinking so far ahead now I'm just torturing myself. XD

Cursed Image.yoshithebastard.mp4 oddly philosophical for fandom shit but I’d agree. I never got into undertale but it wasn’t the fan base that drove me away, I just wasn’t terribly interested. What does bring me to defend it though are people who jump on the “cringe” bandwagon and make fun of anything remotely popular enough for kids to enjoy as well. Same thing happened to Minecraft which has been one of my favorite games since I first picked it up. It’s only just now being revived because people are getting over themselves and allowing themselves to enjoy it. I’d personally prefer touhou over UT any day but I’m not fighting any wars over it lol. Undertale is still a deep and compelling game underneath all the memes and nobody is obligated to admit its “””cringey””” in order to enjoy it.

Actually, the whole Spell Card system was developed mainly by Reimu and was first properly used in the Scarlet Mist incident, so its actually not that old. Any incidents before that were mainly test runs to see if the system works. It was developed so that weak youkai, spirits and humans have a chance to defeat much stronger beings. In fact, the whole thing was designed by Reimu so that Youkai would have a chance in beating her in a fair match. Her ultimate Fantasy Nature (Musou Tensei), was originally so powerful it was banned until Marisa gave it a proper name and limitation as it literally made her untouchable to any and all attacks against her.

5 years old, but still as epic as new. This masterpiece is unbelievable, surreal. How can people dislike this ? When you see that, the rules of the universe itself force you to like this, to enjoy it from every part of your being. This animation is the most beautiful I've ever seen, including the other ones with Koishi for example. And I can't imagine all the work you must put into it. Nah, he released multiple "Making of [x]" videos where he shows some of the making process. There's a tool for symmetrical duplication of objects, and it's possible to define the animation keyframes for one object and have its duplicates replicate the movement symmetrically. There's no way in the world somebody animates tens (or hundreds?) of thousands of bullets one by one.

Just in the way all this was framed and lovingly brainstormed, going by the all the different moves and references used, it had me watching with bated breath. I can't overstate this... Amazing!!

I know this is four years old, but my god it's still incredible. That Border of Wave and Particle was insane, the quality and comedic timing is on point, and looking back it's amazing to see how much talent and skill you already were able to put into these animations.

Okay one of my favorite things is video game fights brought to pre-rendered 3D visual media... That is to say, video. That way, the maker has total freedom with every movement; No need to make it work with a system, it's fully dynamic movement. Minus T takes this to a whole new level, blasting past, like, 3 other "whole new level" stages. Blown out of the water. I love this, and I am so, so grateful to Minus T that this exists. Truly beautiful. I wish more people did this, especially if they did it this dang well!

As always you have exceeded my expectations. Gorgeous, amazing, and I most certainly love the idea that rather than just the general boss placed in a 3D plain, the whole fight was something new and special with the girls putting strategy into their attacks, changing up Yukari's own plan of fire, yet staying true to her spells. Amazing work as always!
Utsuho will probably be just as great I'll say that much... but I still hope to see Eirin (or) Kaguya and Mokou SOMEday ^^' ...Or maybe BOTH! like a Kaguya/Eirin team in the fashion of the teams put together for the playable characters of IN. Of course this could just be my own thinking too far into it, you do whatever you feel is best. all the same I think this just makes me happier to know Koishi will be coming sooner than expected. Possibly Byakuren sooner as well... God I would love to see my favorite girl of the whole series in 3D action! I'm thinking so far ahead now I'm just torturing myself. XD

Cursed Image.yoshithebastard.mp4 oddly philosophical for fandom shit but I’d agree. I never got into undertale but it wasn’t the fan base that drove me away, I just wasn’t terribly interested. What does bring me to defend it though are people who jump on the “cringe” bandwagon and make fun of anything remotely popular enough for kids to enjoy as well. Same thing happened to Minecraft which has been one of my favorite games since I first picked it up. It’s only just now being revived because people are getting over themselves and allowing themselves to enjoy it.
I’d personally prefer touhou over UT any day but I’m not fighting any wars over it lol. Undertale is still a deep and compelling game underneath all the memes and nobody is obligated to admit its “””cringey””” in order to enjoy it.
