I got confused by that too. You can even see Patchy selecting the yellow one at 6:58 and the orange one is there too. But what you said makes totally sense according to the background issue. So I will be editing that one.
I tought about that too. You are talking about IN's Magicannon right? From what I remember the Magicannon has blue and red stars, the one in the video has more colors. And the Master Spark I'm talking about is the one from IN too (the normal difficult one I think), that one has stars with more than two colors unlike Magicannon.

At 7:01 Patchouli only has 3 options left and you can see them all on screen at once; they are firing in both directions at that time towards Okuu and away from her. From the perspective of Marisa's flight she was flying toward Okuu at the start, so when she passes above Okuu the correct direction to fire is to the side.
The amount of dedication and talent that went into this is extraordinary, every single bit of technology was super intricately designed and I can't even imagine how long it must have taken to get everything working. Seeing Marisa work together with her teammates was really cool, and this was an incredibly satisfying video to watch. Good job!
You know, there's two things that I really admire about this animation: 1. It's grainy, which means that either you're doing stochastic ray tracing on every frame, i.e. you have to wait hours to see if it looks good, OR, you're simulating the effects of a high-radiation environment on a camera, which either way is serious attention to detail; 2. You rendered「Hell's Tokamak」 as an _actual Tokamak_.
I also-noticed Nitori is constantly-cycling a power generator, and about 20% is sent to the thrusters to escape the lava overflow. In the modeling credits, minusT rendered Utsuho's arm cannon's actual internal components down to the circuitry.

Something that people may not noticed: During the Okuu laser vs Marisa master spark, Patchy uses a bomb to protect Marisa, when the bomb being consumed, the light on the drone disappear, but it is still working because Nitori's bomb is still there When the technology broom malfunction, Nitori used a bomb, the drone finally died because both Nitori shield and Patchy bomb are consumed Edit after 8 months later: when Nitori uses the bomb while Patchouli bomb is still available, the drone straight up dies(shown at the subterranean sun sc), wasting Patchouli's bomb in the process

I don't know, it kinda borders on that uncanny valley for me. Probably just me though. I prefer the 3d style of Arpeggio of Blue Steel for a solid reference.
Watching this incredible art makes me literally starry-eyed. ;v; Everything about the models and the environment is so perfectly designed... and the 3D atmosphere frames the danmaku with all the in-your-face mind-blowingness it's supposed to have. Okuu's own particularly in-your-face, larger-than-life, over-the-top style demands it the most, and this delivers. I also love how it was directed to show off the gimmick with Marisa's youkai-partners really well. It strikes me as perfect fanart, the kind that seizes perfect canon and takes it to an even more perfect new level. ...Also, the music. The part where Okuu's theme got all 8-bitty, I got hype. And then there was the part that sort of incorporated the grazing sound effects into the music?? SUPER HYPE.
I want to play a game where the player takes Nitori's role in this, now. Doesn't even have to be a Touhou game - just a game where you're the voice-on-the-earpiece doing live analysis/maintenance/strategy/support for the strike force.

Somehow I only just realized that the vids have been going Final Boss, then Extra Boss each time. Wonder what game will be done next, kinda surprised we didn't get a Erin and Kaguyaa final boss vid and Moukou Extra Boss vid before this.
th8 in 3D would be absolutely amazing. It's patterns are gorgeous. I wonder what minusT would do with 4 duo teams... and two different paths for stage4 and stage6. For th10, Kanako's final spell would be epic. Oooh and I wanna see the moment Kanako summons those pillars at her back in animation. An animated brawl between Suika and whomever minusT chooses would be interesting, too. But right now, I can't wait for Koishi's fight!
I really don't have words. This looks like something from a professional studio, you made all the models yourself and actually accounted for everything (including just about every darn eye movement, of all the overcomplicated things), and then rendered complex & awesome scenery together with a legitimately badass bullet hell battle (with really neat-looking bullets, and if I what I've picked up is right, the actual shot patterns from the game) going on over it. And the characters actually manage to properly _have_ said battle even while the camera swoops around, rather than even occasionally collide with bullets/walls/random scenery. HOW?! I mean, the care, effort, and level of detail is clearly noticeable, and just everything is perfect. I really, really wish I could upvote more than once, and that I had friends to share this with... Oh, and you also pick the best songs and then actually sync the fighting to them. There's a point that it becomes impossible and yet I think we're past it somehow.

Dear MinusT, This video isn't as good as the previous one you did. No, it way way WAY better ! Your previous videos were already excellent, but this blows everything out of the water. The character models are much more detailled, the animations are as fluid as water, the backgrounds can't even be compared (seriously, the backgrounds in this are awesome), and the lighting effects are simply spot on (even more when you consider who are fighting here...). Oh, and the choice of music is also perfect, but when wasn't it :)? Seriously, that is awesome, BRILLIANT work.
I think the quality of models have improved. I was worried that some of these patterns would be hard to reproduce, but this was really good. Plus Koishi next ahhhhhhhh!

It's stupid, but... there's a frame at 1:02 where Yamame blinks. There are probably billions others for all the other characters (now that I'm paying attention I did find 50 in about what, one min of video) but I just conciously noticed this one in particular after having rewatched about 7 times. It made me realize what levels of perfectionnism, dedication, and sense of detail are necessary to reach excellence. Bravo - and thank you - for that awesome work of art.
I feel like some of what Utsuho's doing here miiiight fall outside the limits of the spellcard rules. Also, nice touch having all three of Marisa's SA partners backing her up.

The CG models... the textures... the animations... the cinematography... Shit man, this is professional level of quality. I love the architecture shown at 2:21-2:30. My favorite details is also at 2:31 where the machines are on standby, but slightly adjust themselves using thrusters to remain stationary. Really love the attention to detail.
Worth the wait... thank you so much for doing this... alot of fun to watch and love the futuristic direction of it all regarding the way Marisa's broom and Okuu's cannon is all mechanized with a hint of magic in it (Marisa's broom) thx to Patchy and Alice... the Hourai were adorable hiding in the little compartment fixing the broom hahaha! Makes mi imagine wat it would be like if this were UFO instead of SA hahaha tat would be a rigging/rendering nightmare hahaha!

We can clearly see that a lot of love, skill and time were put into this. That's good man.
Ohhh, so _that's_ why it was Subterranean "Stars," because of Marisa being the sole Incident Resolver! As always, simply amazing work; this one, though, has reached a new standard of putting storytelling into the work. All the touches and subtle side notes were really fun and made it a blast to watch, and there were so many cute details as well. As an added bonus, we get Kappa Science to the max, a Shanghai Doll pit crew, and for the first time Marisa actually finishing the fight with her Master Spark! And Koishi next! The hype is real and it hasn't even been one day yet. :)
Actually, Master Spark is just the giant beam. What Marisa is using in this is Final Spark, which that much-more powerful spellcard uses additional stars.

It must be due to simulating radiation effects, because every the graininess is noticeable Okuu's present.

During the Okuu laser vs Marisa master spark, Patchy uses a bomb to protect Marisa, when the bomb being consumed, the light on the drone disappear, but it is still working because Nitori's bomb is still there
When the technology broom malfunction, Nitori used a bomb, the drone finally died because both Nitori shield and Patchy bomb are consumed
Edit after 8 months later: when Nitori uses the bomb while Patchouli bomb is still available, the drone straight up dies(shown at the subterranean sun sc), wasting Patchouli's bomb in the process
I know bombs was used but don't know what it looked like or where it happened. Good eyes.

Everything about the models and the environment is so perfectly designed... and the 3D atmosphere frames the danmaku with all the in-your-face mind-blowingness it's supposed to have. Okuu's own particularly in-your-face, larger-than-life, over-the-top style demands it the most, and this delivers. I also love how it was directed to show off the gimmick with Marisa's youkai-partners really well. It strikes me as perfect fanart, the kind that seizes perfect canon and takes it to an even more perfect new level.
...Also, the music. The part where Okuu's theme got all 8-bitty, I got hype. And then there was the part that sort of incorporated the grazing sound effects into the music?? SUPER HYPE.

I really don't have words. This looks like something from a professional studio, you made all the models yourself and actually accounted for everything (including just about every darn eye movement, of all the overcomplicated things), and then rendered complex & awesome scenery together with a legitimately badass bullet hell battle (with really neat-looking bullets, and if I what I've picked up is right, the actual shot patterns from the game) going on over it.
And the characters actually manage to properly _have_ said battle even while the camera swoops around, rather than even occasionally collide with bullets/walls/random scenery. HOW?!
I mean, the care, effort, and level of detail is clearly noticeable, and just everything is perfect. I really, really wish I could upvote more than once, and that I had friends to share this with...
Oh, and you also pick the best songs and then actually sync the fighting to them. There's a point that it becomes impossible and yet I think we're past it somehow.

This video isn't as good as the previous one you did. No, it way way WAY better ! Your previous videos were already excellent, but this blows everything out of the water.
The character models are much more detailled, the animations are as fluid as water, the backgrounds can't even be compared (seriously, the backgrounds in this are awesome), and the lighting effects are simply spot on (even more when you consider who are fighting here...). Oh, and the choice of music is also perfect, but when wasn't it :)?

It's stupid, but...
there's a frame at 1:02 where Yamame blinks. There are probably billions others for all the other characters (now that I'm paying attention I did find 50 in about what, one min of video) but I just conciously noticed this one in particular after having rewatched about 7 times.
It made me realize what levels of perfectionnism, dedication, and sense of detail are necessary to reach excellence.

I love the architecture shown at 2:21-2:30. My favorite details is also at 2:31 where the machines are on standby, but slightly adjust themselves using thrusters to remain stationary. Really love the attention to detail.

I suppose the rationality in SA though is that she's literally plunging deep into hell and it probably doesn't hurt to have a more powerful flying device
This is not fair, i'm literally crying right now. No one told me it would start from the first boss, even if it just for one spell card. This is the best of minust touhou videos. Dear MinusT, your work is amazing. You improve with your every video... And this one is the best of yours. Patterns, fights that were included, changed models. That's great man! Also those details, hidden Koishi there and there, background details, character details... Every single thing so detailed! We can clearly see that a lot of love, skill and time were put into this.

主さんの地霊殿への愛と解釈が凄い。凄すぎる。
驚きの白さを画面真っ白にせずにかつ3Dで再現進化させるのほんとスゴい。他ももちろんすごい
サポキャラ3人の力を結集して臨むとか、胸が熱くなる展開だな…こういう設定もあっていい。
Ohhh, so _that's_ why it was Subterranean "Stars," because of Marisa being the sole Incident Resolver! As always, simply amazing work; this one, though, has reached a new standard of putting storytelling into the work. All the touches and subtle side notes were really fun and made it a blast to watch, and there were so many cute details as well. As an added bonus, we get Kappa Science to the max, a Shanghai Doll pit crew, and for the first time Marisa actually finishing the fight with her Master Spark!
And Koishi next! The hype is real and it hasn't even been one day yet. :)
Actually, Master Spark is just the giant beam.
What Marisa is using in this is Final Spark, which that much-more powerful spellcard uses additional stars.
Plus Patchouli not only saved Marisa, but also coordinated her attacks.
Marisa: "Hey girl, are you a star? Because not only you're beautiful, i feel like there's some sort of gravity pulling me in~"
Alice: "Marisa, you can literally got radiation poisoning if it's not because of that shield"
