The Trencadis Tile

The starting point of this project is the importance of using what is
already exists in the workshop, which comes from a great admiration for the tradition and the craftsmanship involved in the production of cement tiles.
Respecting these fundamentals, along with the passion for nature and the world of Ceramic leads me to personal creative expression.
The mathematical game of various models and colors allows me to break the repetitive pattern, hide edges and reveal the potential of a visual experience.
The trencadís pieces are part of the design process and are implemented into the tiles during the production sequence.
The trencadís pieces add new dimensions, such as texture, reflections and
freedom to use dynamic shapes.
This contemporary approach invites the viewer to enter the story and experience the mystery, growth, and movement.
The innovative technique combines two worlds of crafts that have been separated.
This connection creates the metamorphosis from the traditional tile to the new trencadís tile.
