Wunderschön.Ein Genuß
I am really curious as to where Gaudi got all those ceramic pieces, and how he managed them and sorted them and allocated them so brilliantly.
The ceramic came from defective lacquered tiles that could not be used in construction and would have been disposed. Then they broke them up and used the pieces.
I've been a few times to Barcelona in past. One of my favourite cities worldwide. What I've never really noticed was Gaudis mosaics even though I've visited all his masterpieces. Casa batalia? One of my favs...
Very interesting
Hi, thanks for the vid. I think Gaudi did not choose on purpose mosaics, but was rather obliged because of cut of budget due to a building that was not a appreciated by the population at that time. Right?
The Spanish r just to good at this in my opinion the best !
what is up with the blank white spots?
It's bad enough that things break over time, but Saudi's work is so amazing I don't even want to think about people who would come by a steal a chunk or it, or vandalize it. Every time I see this stuff it's just fascinating.
What did Guadi used as a base?
He did not invent mosaic.
Yeah that half-assed made up legend exposes the tuber's huge historical and general ignorance. Gaudi was (I think) a 19th century Spanish architect. Mosaic has been done by humans since time immemorial throughout many ages and civilizations. Im sure there are many legends from different cultures as to the origins of this artwork. He could've bothered to do a little research-but why bother, lets just keep dumbing ourselves down!
Yeah, he did not invent it.
