I've had a few comments that the fill plug should be removed before the drain plug. YES! That is correct. You don't want to take the drain plug out and discover the fill plug is rusted solid. In this case I've changed the rear diff oil a few times and knew that would not be an issue.
Always a good idea to remove the fill plug first. If you remove the drain plug first, drain all the oil, and you cannot remove the fill plug for any reason you will be left with no oil in the case.
I agree. In this case I knew it would come out.
Thank you man! God bless you 🙏
Thanks for watching!
Gracias Crack. Saludos desde Chiloé, Chile.
Should remove fill plug first to be safe then remove lower drain bolt. You would find with both bolts removed it would drain quicker
I agree. In this case I knew it would come out.
Thanks very much
Check out my other Santa Fe videos.
Always remove the fill plug before the drain plug.
Yes, as noted in my pinned comment. Thanks for watching.
Great video. How did you dispose of the used Differential Oil?
Thank you. You can dispose same as engine oil. Check with auto parts stores. My local O'Reilly takes used oil.
Hello friend - fill with oil until it starts to come out?
Best to check owners manual for capacity.
I have a 2009 FWD SE @150k miles. Does this apply to fwd also? Would I change transfer case oil or differential ?
If yours is front wheel drive you don't have a differential or transfer case.
Are the washers not crush washers? And if so, shouldn't they be replaced while changing the oil?
I don't think they are. I've never replaced washers for differentials and never had any leak. Engine oil drain plugs I have. Thanks for watching.
Does this oil works for santa fe 2009 2.7 v6 automatic?
For rear axle I would think it would be the same. Can double check your owners manual.
@@GarageWorx thx man
Is the rear axle limited slip or regular?
Regular. I don't believe limited slip was available on a Santa Fe.
@@GarageWorx but you put oil for LS diff. Its marked on the bottle 😁
How many quarts u need exactly for a 2011?
I would assume it would be about thre same as what I used in this video.
