Hey guy. Ur a rock star. Perfect instruction. Information delivered in a manner that wasn't missed or wasteful time searching. Thanks
Great advice about the full bolt. Appears to be the same diff as a Kona
Thanks for the video. I'm adding it to my favourites. I need to buy some car ramps, jacking the car up every time you wanna do something is a PITA,
Great video. Can we use 75-140 for the dif and ptu?
Thanks for your great tutorial. The Santafe was made in Korea. However tutorial is not available here Korea. That's why yours is much more helpful for me.
I believe the torque specs you gave are for the transfer case as for the diffy drain plug it is 50.6ft lbs
Unfortunately I don’t know the specs for the fill plug. Hope this helps you in anyway.
Great video! Can you provide part numbers for the crush washers?
If you get that gear oil on your clothes wash with a Simple green or Awesome or Purple Power degreaser. If you use gloves throw them any any towels away. Get some on your garage floor? Use the degreaser ASAP and air out your garage or you'll be smelling that fluid for days.....I'm still smelling it and it's cold as hell outside and any tools used clean with degreaser with hot water until smell gone and any pumps or bottles store ina plastic bag double bag as well.
Great clear vid Thanks !! Do you get any notice that the rear differential or transfer case requires an oil change by way of , say a noisy Bearing? Regards Geoff in Australia
brilliant idea @ 2:40 Thanks man
Hey buddy where did you get that oil pump ?
great video!
Would this be the same for a 2017 Hyundai Tucson AWD? And at what mileage should the fluid be replaced?
Thank you, great video.
Hello! Do you have a video on how to change the transmission fluid on 2013 hyundai santa fe sport 2.0 turbo
nm or ft lbs of Torque for the drain plug and fill plug bolts?
Do you know if we can change fluid in this multiplate awd rear clutch (Dynamax/haldex)?
did you tighten those bolts with an IMPACT WRENCH
omfg dude ... ur in trouble.
use hand wrench , tighten by hand
Always use a torque wrench
dont be noob
A tip : watch movies on Flixzone. Been using it for watching all kinds of movies these days.
@Bowen Jake definitely, I've been using flixzone for months myself :)
I saw 2 yrs ago one of your DIY video how to drain and fill ATF in Santa Fe 2013. I followed your tutorial and everything went very smooth . Now my Santa Fe 2014 has 65 000 km and I would like to remove transmission pan, and replace the ATF filter. I spent so much time searching, and unfortunately, there is no one DIY video how to replace the filter. Have you ever change the filter on your Santa Fe 2013? If yes, could you give me some advice, or maybe there is video, but I am not lucky to find it.
It doesn't have filter my friend! I mean it has one metallic inside of it but the only way you can change it or cleaning is by taking apart the transmission "Bad idea"
I was about to say that body looks great for 2013 and then I've noticed video was published in 2014 :P.
Hi have you ever done the transfer case drain and refill?. Where would it be on this Santa Fe?
he just posted the video yesterday...I know you commented last year but just an fyi
thanks
Make sure your vehicle is level when filling up diff. Not jacked up in the air
That's why he used 4 ramps so it would be level
Is it full size spare tire?
Don't you mean 15/16" socket not 5/16"?
Has to be a 15/16 to be comparable to a 24mm. He just misspoke. Great video!
How much quantity of oil for it?
I having a problem on my back differential everytime i turn,,i always heard knocking or something that gear is sliding, i bring it to hyundai dealership and i complaining about it all the tim for so long but they do nothing, now i getting sick in tired to bring it there anymore cause like i said they do nothing,,they just always say they going to check,i dont want to trade my santa xl just because of that,,so any idea or video how to fixed this thing???
Benjie, did you ever resolve this issue? I had same issue and they replaced the AWD coupling assembly 4 years ago. I am starting to hear the same clunking and knocking again. I took it to dealer and they can't replicate the noise. Of course my car has 99,700 miles on it. Need to get them to hear it before 100,000!!
@@tompitt631 they say the magnet or coupling on awd is the problem,,they fixed it and change it fine, but i dont know how long is gonna last,
I have a Hyundai sante fe 2010 ....can 2 different size tires (2 -235 on the front and 225 on the back) cause my rear differential to fail, I had the car for a year and a half, every 3 months I get my car checked with oils changed, but I go to a different mechanic for an inspection and my car is off the road. They convince me to buy 2 front tires to pass inspection and 2 days later my back tires was smoking they are trying to make buy 2 more tires to be able to get my car on the road
MissPretti Ana it could. The size of the tire correlated to how many rotations per mile. When you have awd the front tires and rear tires are connected mechanically through the awd system. So if a smaller tire rotated faster than larger ones- then you have a the differential fighting the transfer case which fights transaxle. Something will have to give.
MissPretti Ana tire width won’t matter to much as long as they are not rubbing anything. Tires don’t smoke unless they are rubbing.
so the metallic dust on the tip of that bolt is the only metallic that exists in the pumpkin? lol
i know if ya ever here a clunking ir skipping when you turn right or left the front awd coupling goes bad the clutch pack is non serviceable kia wants 1100 bucks for it you can buy it on ebay for 600 takes about a 1 hr to replace it mounts on the front of your differential just to let everyone know its not your rear end going out its the coupling that mounts in front of the rear end and i would use fll synthitic gear oil for a few bucks more
mike stowe could also be mismatched/non-equally worn tires.
@@imstricken06 nope if ya ever have skiping while turning or a grab n clunk its the front coupling on the differential there known to go out mine is a 2014 awd has 73,000 miles on it i have to replace it im glad i can buy the oem of ebay for 600 instead of 1100 at dealer only buy oem of ebay not the cheaper knock off shit for 500
holy cow thanks! i was wonder what my rear end was doing when turning and going up an incline. hah i have a 2017 santa fe awd and ill be looking into this thanks!!
Don't cheap out, replace the crush washers and use full synthetic oil...
Have you had any issues with the clutch pack the couples to the drive shalf? I have an issue with wheel hop from the rear when turning on a 2014 Sante Fe Turbo.
Mike Harrypersad i have the same problem .. did u solve it ??
mohamed saad i have the same issue, have you got it fixed ?
How did you get the vehicle on those ramps like that??
For those reading today, they are low profile ramps and fit under the vehicle...
Isn't this a limited slip diff? I might need ls additive to be added to the gear oil
What mileage is this supposed to be done? I have a 2013 santa fe. So there is a front and a rear differential box that has to be changed?
I too have a 2013 Santa Fe; is there a front and rear differential box. Will appreciate
The oil from differential is different from the one in the clutch pack.
The clutch pack is inside the differential. So yes the oil is the same.
@@imstricken06 no, there is different one for the clucth pack. I currently have a problem with my 2017 Tucson on the coupling because oil leaks and went to service and see that the clutch pack oil is isolated from the rear diff. Unfortunatelly is not serviceable and I have to change the coupling. There is only one filling bolt in front of the coupling

cross strip or cross thread? lol
Jason Johnson don’t be rude. English is not my first nor second language. When you speak many languages you end up sometimes sounding weird on your off days. Enjoy the video and don’t mock the creators individuality b
lol...just bustin. your English sounds normal to me. gotta have some fun. good video man.
Rattle gun on steel plugs in alloy 😂 no thanks.
Don’t get this fluid on your clothes or skin . It stinks !!! You will never ever get it from the clothes . I’ve always over filled my diffs . The more fluid you can get in the better !
