    The show was supposed to be on TV but sadly enough they got no support and they asked to pay up in order to be on TV... since in the middle east there is no industry (YET) its hard to get investors to put their money on these creative shows cuz its risky.
    So they just put it on YT as a last result.
    and for the VC just listen to it in arabic and read the subs :3
    follow the creator on twitter since she do update on what they do

      Really? That sucks. It's true that it's risky to invest in a show that's different, but I like shows that are different. It makes them special. It makes them unique. The one good thing about having the show on UA-cam is that they can make the show exactly how they want it to be.

    • @tigerofftopic2048
      @tigerofftopic2048  6 років тому +19

      I guess it depends on the perspective. From Emara's point of view, they could be considered bad guys because they're trying to capture her. Not only that, the company that Dabian works for did try to shoot her when she was under mind control in episode 4. On the other hand, maybe the company thinks that Emara is a potential threat to civilization and that's why they're keeping an eye on her. I guess we'd have to wait for more episodes to know for sure.

    • @RinamewD
      @RinamewD 6 років тому +11

      Yeah we need more episodes to know the truth, but one thing is for sure, they were trying to avoid Solomon [I hope I disnt misspelled that name] soo, enemy of an enemy is a friend situation?
      And thanks for replying, its so odd to see anyone reply anything I comment. And now I think I have a more clearer picture of what might be going on in Emara

    I mean... voice acting in unoriginal languages is rarely half as good as original. I never watch cartoons in polish for that reason and I switched to Arabic with English subtitles after watching first episode

    • @tigerofftopic2048
      @tigerofftopic2048  6 років тому +5

      That's true. I don't think the English voice acting is that big of a problem mainly because, like you said, it isn't the original language. It's kind of nice to watch the English version first and then go back and watch the Arabic version. I've always been bad at reading subtitles while watching a show. I'd have to pause the video because I don't read the subtitles fast enough. But, if I watch the English version first, I already know what they're going to say so I don't have to pause it all the time.

    I honestly adore Emara. She reminds me of a mixture of Ms. Marvel and Iron Man. I'm like a lot of people here, the lack of backstory hurts our characters and their interactions but inspite of that, it is an excellent combination of cyberpunk, Arabic culture and bishoujo action.

  • @Kusanagikaiser999
    @Kusanagikaiser999 6 років тому +15

    I seriously LOVED this show, its pretty amazing, and its just a YOU TUBE show.....the last one I saw that have some level of quality was RWBY.....and I gonna be honest.....season 1 of Rwby vs this 5 episodes season of Emara......EMARA WINS, I liked more the characters, animation and even the story more than what we got of Rwby in season 1, and Rooster Teeth is probably a bigger studio than Eating Stars Studio, so that make it more impressive, I really hope they do well and have success so we can have a season 2.

  • @turtledragon8276
    @turtledragon8276 6 років тому +21

    While I love this show for it's animation, characters, and sound track, the lack of backstory frustrates me. I know this has been brought up before by others but I have no idea what's going on most of the time. Are Emara and people like her just part robot, or are they 100% robot? Wouldn't Emara's mother know about her daughter being part or fully robot? What happened to Emara's father? Why are the people Dabian is working for robotic too? What are they trying to accomplish? Who made them? What is the puppy bag guy trying to do? I'm sure most if not all of these questions will be answered later but until then I'm very confused. They could've explained a little more to help their fans understand what is going on without spoiling anything.

    • @tigerofftopic2048
      @tigerofftopic2048  6 років тому +2

      Yeah, everyone being part robot kind of confuses me too. I think it's cool, but I thought that only Dabian had robotic limbs mainly because when he's not disguised as his alter ego, he doesn't wear his robotic legs. Because of that, I thought Emara didn't have robotic arms. Like, whenever she turned her hands into weapons, it would just covered her hands. But later on it's shown that her and other people have robotic limbs too. If I were to guess, I think that Emara didn't loose her arms in an accident or else her mother would have to know about it. So I have a feeling that her arms were replaced and her father has something to do with that. But I guess we'll have to wait for more episodes to find out. Which is a bit annoying because I'm sure it'll take a really long time for season two to be out.

    • @turtledragon8276
      @turtledragon8276 6 років тому +2

      Right! I thought her arms were just being hidden too at first. Hopefully they will explain more.

      While her name would mean banana in Arabic. Mouza also has a second meaning in Arab Gulf countries, including the UAE. In the Gulf, Moza can also mean pearl, which is why people in the Gulf, where pearl-diving was a historic profession for centuries, name their daughters Moza. Other Arabs are often surprised when they encounter the name which is why they think it means banana. It is a uniquely Gulf name, uncommon in other parts of the Arab world.

    Emara airs on TV in some countries, like UAE where it comes from. Works that don't come from the west or from japan have a very hard time reaching an international audience, so youtube is a great place to get some exposure, wich will help to bring interest in other middle eastern shows.

      The world revolves around money. Since it was posted on UA-cam, it's getting way less money than if it was on TV. To have fluid animation like they have in Emara, it takes a very long time to make and it is costly. We can hope for more episodes, but I think it's either not going to happen or it's going to happen but a long time from now. We have to be patient and give Eating Stars Studio as much love and support as we can

      It is true that I haven't watched a lot of anime about magical girls. I'm still getting into anime. So far, I've only watch Baccano, One Punch Man, My Hero Academia, Death Parade, and Death Note. I've also watched some movies like The Girl Who Travelled in Time, Spirited Away, My Neighbor Totoro, and A Silent Voice. Is there any anime you would recommend? And yeah, someone in the comments already said that in Arabic countries restaurants usually have a lot of money, which I was unaware of.

      TBA! Off Topic From what I can see you are more into Shounen anime than Shoujo anime. At best “Kill La Kill” or “Puella Magi Madoka Magica” will keep your interest since there are some twist and turns or fighting scenes that most shoujo don’t really have.
      I was more so saying, magical girls anime and fanime alike because they use the glamour trope were heroes can’t tell who each other are unless they tell them or see them transform.

    • @tigerofftopic2048

    I have mixed feelings about the show actually and none of it has anything to do with the voice acting, the animation, sound effects, soundtrack etc. I actually think it's great for those reasons but seeing that the show is fast paced and so much is going on with no explanation. Why is Mouza fighting crime as Emara? What is the organization Dabian works for and why do they want to take Emara and what do they plan to do to her when they get their hands on her? What year does this take place in because I've seen characters with robotic prosthetics that also serve as jet packs and guns, and don't forget Emara's arm-cannons. What organization is making these mind control devices on humans that also mutate them? Nothing is explained and it almost feels like the creators are making the show go at the pace it's going because they want to without giving substance. Sure show don't tell is a reasonable writing method but give us some telling also.

    • @tigerofftopic2048
      @tigerofftopic2048  6 років тому +1

      I see what you mean. They throw us into the story without much of an explanation, but I feel like those things will end up being explained in future episodes. Also, I am a fan of "Show don't tell". I don't really like it when everything is explained to me right away. I like to figure out the story as time goes on. Because of the "Show don't tell" method they're going for, this show can become forgettable quick if they don't end up making season 2. When things just happen and nothing is explained in the long run, there's a disconnect between the audience and the show. So hopefully those questions would be answered in future episodes.

    Unfortunately, the animators are not arabic, so there are still no arabic animators. The Arabic thing about this is the story and character design and actors.

      No need to panic! The last episode was the end of season 1. At the time I posted this video, I didn't know that episode 5 would be the last episode of season 1. Since animation takes forever to make, I'm guessing that it'll take a loooooong time before season two comes out. Sorry about that. I guess we'll have to patiently wait for season 2, but this show is worth waiting for. Especially because it's on UA-cam.

      TBA! Off Topic, thank you for the information. I honestly like the series very much so for it to pause at a suspenseful moment make me little jumpy i guess. Anyways thanks again and i liked your video too! It made me chuckle at various moments. Ok and for now I'll be waiting!

      An anime is a style of Japanese animation. This is an Arabic cartoon. This show does have an anime style, but it's not an anime.

    Hm, one of the things I noticed, is that those things that the villain puts on the head of his victims are awfully similar by looks to Jewish yarmulke, a skullcap worn in public by Orthodox Jewish men. Plus, the name of the villain himself is "Solomon", which is, again, originally a Jewish name. I probably think too much, but it's still interesting coincidences.

      OKAY LETS NOT MAKE OURSELVES VICTIMS HERE. This is an old comment but I’m gonna speak up anyways bc we should educate people on this.
      If you actually LISTEN to the original Arabic audio the characters name is SULEIMAN. As in the ISLAMIC PROPHET AND COMMON ARABIC NAME. AGAIN THE CHARACTERS NAME IS NOT SOLOMON ITS
      SU-LEI-MAN.
      Also that looks nothing like a yarmulka to me. If just looks like a circle and considering how it seems to fully wrap around the head it looks much more like a Kufi. AN ISLAMIC HEADCOVERING.
      Jewish people don’t own skullcaps and head coverings.
      Not only is this accusation based on misinformation (you seriously couldn’t open your ears to hear they say Suleiman and look up to see that is an extremely common Arab/muslim name?) and then jumping to assume that any headcovering is a yarmulke.
      Jumping to assume that an Arab cartoon is anti Jewish is antisemitic dude. This is just sad.

      @@hhh1234h Hello! thank you for the comment. I'll be honest, I didn't even remember writing this because it was so long ago, lol.
      I just wanted to apologize for this comment. I was really young back then and was only starting to learn Arabic, so I was still bad at understanding fluent speech, moreover, since I was young (I was 14-15 I think?) and Judaism was the only thing I knew, I saw something resembling my culture and thought it was something from it, because I didn't know much about other religions back then.
      Since then I have grown up and learned a lot, learned that Islam and Judaism share a lot in common, which is amazing, and also changed a lot of personal views imposed by my racist surroundings. I didn't know any better back then, but I'm a different person now. Still, I'm very happy to see that there are people like you who will speak up against stuff like what I wrote in that old comment. It's thanks to people like you who educated me and others that I've changed for the better ^^
