This is a great monitor - colours look good, haven't had any ghosting problems and the ips glow is slight... I only notice it when I'm turning the brightness down and some areas respond slightly slower.
Its a great all round monitor, image quality better than TN (very accurate colours, good contrast) and its one of the few IPS panels that are fast enough for gaming. They go on sale at dell every few months for 70-90$ off, get it than if you can wait!
Another nice video! Please do a comparison video of the three monitors. I am looking forward to buying one of those after two months or so. I am into graphic designing, editing and also play games! Currently I am using Benq E2200HD.
The Eizo looks like another class, although they should produce similar data. It might be connected with the LUT differentiating more shades of colour, but I don't really know.
Im very elevated when I sit, the Dell screen doesn't move to the same extent as the Eizo I have. The ergometry is different, the pivot of the Dell doesnt allow the screen to be tilted as much when lowered and tipped.
Apologies for the late reply my friend but yes MUCH better image quality (way more accurate colours with no colour shift, better contrast). Did you end up getting one?
I love it man, accurate colours for when I'm designing and its one of the few IPS panels that are fast enough for gaming (measure input was was vertually zero) :D Thinking of getting another one and replacing my middle benq screen with it :)
Its been measured by tftcentral (VERY reputable monitor review site) to have basically zero input lag, and really good pixel response, so is one of the best for gaming for 60hz IPS panels :)
I'm the reviewer in the vid and still have this screen and I can definitely push it down on the stand and tilt the lower end up with the top going slightly backwards, all while the screen is lowered - just tried it and am typing this comment with the screen in this position :)
Thats a good thing that you haven't upgraded yet though, cause now you can upgrade straight to a touchscreen monitor for windows 8, many are coming for 2013 :)
Too bad you cant tilt the Dell in a down/up position like you can with Eizo screens, it is really a good feature for better econometrics that the Dell monitors lack. I also think that both the Eizo Flexscan and the Eizo ColorEdge models exceeds any Dell product for graphic design work and photograph work in general.
Very cool setup you got. Excellent choice on the gaming monitor, i've owned a XL2420T myself. LOVED it, i will get it again later. Had some money issues and had to sell it. :( I'm now waging to get one of these or the Dell S2340L.
Maybe I got lucky but mine has no noticeable glow under everyday conditions (maybe if I used the monitor it in a pitch black room 24/7 the glow would bug me ;P) and almost zero back light bleed :)
The ergometry is not too god cause the flexibility doesn't go all the way, you can't position the screen in the same manner as you can with the referred Eizo models, I like to push it down on the stand AND with a tilt motion simultaneously make the lower end of the screen tilt up and the top end slightly going backwards - while the screen is lowered. This is not possible with the Dell UltraSharp. I've tried.
What do you mean about tilting? You can tilt the screen of u2312hm 21 degrees up and 4 degrees down. imgur. com/Puz40kS I agree when it comes to graphics work.
Around 300 dollars? I paid 180€ (=230$) for mine a year ago, and it's the basic price here. I am amazed that for once electronics actually cost LESS here in Finland.
Hmm... It seems as though you are willing to spend ur money on such high end stuff, why not get an ASUS PB278Q? It is a PLS panel, supports up to 1440P, and definitely has even higher color res and contrast ratio of 8mil to 1!! C:
Couldn't help but laugh when you fingered the cable hole, then shortly after you were talking about getting to know the monitor a bit better....ha....I have a dirty mind, lol
I don't have a job, but i do get money monthly. I can still buy high-end stuff thankfully. :P But i'm going to school late this year, if i get a job now i won't get paid as much.
6:27 ... That was so awkward...
Lol xD
Additional power port is for a soundbar which is sold separately.
Fantastic un boxing as always. Detail, all the information people want, good camera quality. Keep it up man! :D
This is a great monitor - colours look good, haven't had any ghosting problems and the ips glow is slight... I only notice it when I'm turning the brightness down and some areas respond slightly slower.
the 12V is for the attachment speakers that dell has for some monitors
DC power connector for Dell Soundbar,

Apologies for the late reply, but its a Sony a33, with 18-55mm kit and 50mm 1.8 lens

Yes please do a comparison. I'm starting to do sports videography. Would like larger displays for editing.
USB in to power the ports and transer any data, USB out for accesories like mice, thumbdrives etc.

Graduated college, paid off tuition (only 14grand dept coming out), and work full time :)
That is power supply jack for sound bar behind.

Great , I would like to see a comparison in gaming .

I'll be doing the build as I unbox the parts, Ill be unboxing the CPU and posting the vid SOON.
Its coming in the next few weeks, I have a backlog of vids to post :S
The 12v jack is for the built in (crappy) speakers.
Thats a good thing that you haven't upgraded yet though, cause now you can upgrade straight to a touchscreen monitor for windows 8, many are coming for 2013 :)

That thing is the power for speakers that mount on the monitor
would this be good for gaming

Just work full time. Here in Holland it's quite easy to get then lol. Especially if you don't have monthly payments.
Is there a port to plug speakers or headphones into it using a 3.5mm jack? Please help! Thanks
i love unboxing everything but you know not too much money here:P so i love to watch unboxing as well
Maybe I got lucky but mine has no noticeable glow under everyday conditions (maybe if I used the monitor it in a pitch black room 24/7 the glow would bug me ;P) and almost zero back light bleed :)
what's the wallpaper on the screen
Isn't your blue snowball a little bit in the way?
Its an Excel exacto knife I got when I was in graphic design school, any artsy store should have it :)

Haha yaa I usually have it behind the screen, but was doing voiceovers before I made this vid.

No HDMI?
the 12v connector is for one of those sound bricks
I'll most likely be doing one very beginning of 2013 after I finish building Project PureWhite :)
Hmm... It seems as though you are willing to spend ur money on such high end stuff, why not get an ASUS PB278Q? It is a PLS panel, supports up to 1440P, and definitely has even higher color res and contrast ratio of 8mil to 1!! C:

I don't have a job, but i do get money monthly. I can still buy high-end stuff thankfully. :P
But i'm going to school late this year, if i get a job now i won't get paid as much.
Are you kidding? :D It's atm very very hard in Holland to get a decent job. I've been jobless the last 2 years. Being home all day sucks ass.
can you take a pic or do a quick vid with a full lit black screen helps to have more of em xd
Haha great minds think alike, nothing wrong with the 2207h though it served me well :)
