Thank You! This is exactly what I needed to set up Branch Cache on my VMware network. I have full connectivity on the virtual network as well as connectivity to the Internet. Great Work!
Thanks a lot. I am a novice at network. At first the "NY" could not ping "LAX", tried different settings but problem persist. Finally after rewinding the video, I found that both "NY" and "LAX" need to have gateway pointing to the IP of the router on the VLAN side. :)
Hi thanks for the video. - I assume the same kind of setup would work on ESXi? Any differences I should be aware of? Am looking to learn test and implement DNS across 5 sites we have so setting up a lab to emulate this whilst I work it out would be great
Many thanks for this excellent tutorial. One thing that was missing is , after we reboot the router we loose all the route configuration that we made.. could you please guide us how to get into "/etc/sysconfig/network" and save the settings permanently? Once again thanks for your help.
iN 10.10.0.0 /24 WE CAN MULTIPLE MACHINES now is it possible that they can ping with other machines in 10.20.0.0/24 network as in this case only two machines are able to ping each other ?
awesome demonstration, but when i tried it on vmware 9.0.2 version, it hung immediately i provided the user logging name and the password. is there a way out. Thanks.
Thank you Arun for this video. Could you please help me on how to save the "route add -net..." command result permanently ??? Waiting for your response!!
happytrigger i would suggest addinng name of server to respective ip in "c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts" file most easiest way dont forget to open notepad as administrator .
HI, Thanks for this video, it solved my problem in VM Workstation. Could you tell me two things : 1. How to shut down freesco routers ? 2. I found that "route add" command update the routing table & IP traffic routing is ok,but next day when I start all guest machine & routers in VM,it is not working. Again I need to update the routing table with same route add command. Might be I am doing any mistake. Please let me know the solutions .
Thank you this answers my question and it worked, when the video creator mentions a switch that is at each site what would they be using for this or is it just implied ?
Great video everything is working fine, but at the last step, when i create static route everything hungs, I can only ping the link between two routers (pinging from one of the routers) but I am not able to ping Clients. Clients are not able to ping their own routers too. Ignore that, my static route was wrong :D :D you are awesome.
at the end ot the tut, i got "network is unreachable " on the last step when adding the second route to the second router ! I dont know why :/ anyone can help me ?
Hello Suddhasattwa, I'm creating a test lab and your video is very helpful for that. But the password you provided is not working for "freesco" is it changed or it is something else? thanks!
Thanks for the video. I've been trying for years to get this to work in a simple manner and with the help of your video I now can!
thank you mate ... there are many world class tutors ... explaining simple things in complex ways ...... and you did it very simply ...:-)

Man that was kewl. Very nice. Sub'd will keep an eye on channel for sure.
good job! btw FREESCO doesn't have dynamic routing feature and you have to use static routing.
This was really helpful, Thank you! can we create a DMZ and add a server in DMZ and open specific port on the router?

Please do the same type of setup using mikrotik routers where you allow internet traffic out and allow outside traffic in.
Can you help me? I want to build a wan similation on VMWare Workstation with Silver Peak. I dont know how to build that :(
If you wonder why it came out to be 1600 Kbps, but not 1500, you may remember that you need to divide by 1024, not 1000.
It is awesome!!!! Very interesting and usefull video!
I had to take the time to login, like, comment and subscribe!!!
Really helpful!! Good Job!!!
Excellent, thanks!!

Nice video, how did you resolve the problem at the ending of the video?
happytrigger i would suggest addinng name of server to respective ip in "c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts" file most easiest way dont forget to open notepad as administrator .
You set the subnet of the routers 255.255.255.248 while at the static route you set a subnet mask 255.255.255.0
is there any virtual switch that i can use in vmware workstation
Great video! Could you post a video with the same type of WAN simulation setup using Mikrotik RouterOS? Thanks in advanced!
guys, im struglying to convert the exe to flp, any help ?

At the point in the video where i need to add the routes, i receive the message netmask doesnt match route address any ideas ?
route add adding whole network. So give network address ,not a specific host/client address.
Thank you this answers my question and it worked, when the video creator mentions a switch that is at each site what would they be using for this or is it just implied ?
I also can confirm that after a reboot the route table resets. Even after saving the settings it still isnt there
