I think it's also easier for high schoolers to play match at a higher level since they're much younger. Traditional takes much more practice and time.

Cameron Leonard No, not really. Most programs use match because it doesn't require as much practice to play at a high level. And it's also to prevent injury at a young age, traditional isn't meant to be played on a flat snare and can be harmful on the arm. The left hand simply just takes more time to develop with trad so schools just avoid it.
