The guy Ned redirected to Arya to protect her is Yoren. He’s a sworn brother of the Nights Watch and a friend of Ned’s brother, Benjen Stark. He also rode with Tyrion from The Wall and told Ned that Cat had taken Tyrion.

When the witch says that only death can pay for life, i actually have a headcanon/theory that lady the wolfs death in episode 2 paid for Brans life. We see him wake up right after she is killed.
The midwives wouldn’t come to help Khaleesi cuz she is now cursed. Blood magic is forbidden and Khaleesi went against what the Dothraki believe in to try and save Drogo.
Yeah. Aemon is Daenerys's geeat great-uncle. He was older than Daenerys's great grandfather but refused the throne as he was already studying as a maester. He's one of the few people in his family to never want the throne.

Aw, I always feel bad when reactors apologize for getting choked up. We're here tearing up with you, don't worry. Neds death is supposed to sear through our hearts like a white hot dagger.
This episode completely stunned everyone when it came out. But no matter how much it hurt, everyone HAD to see what was going to happen next, and the Game of Thrones craze truly started.
I feel like if someone DOESNT have a few scenes across the series that made them almost stop watching, there’s something very wrong with them. We get the full spectrum of emotions.
A sept is not a statue, it is a place of worship in the Faith of the Seven, kind of like a church. Baelor was famously devoutly religious Targaryen King, and the largest Sept in King’s Landing is named for him. It is akin to the main ‘catherdral’ for their religion, presided over by the High Septon, the equivalent to a Pope or Archbishop. GRRM based the words sept, septon, and septa on the Latin word for the number seven.
My biggest pet peeve is men reacting to game of thrones like soulless statues. Oftentimes with women sobbing over the latest development next to them. People watch reactions to see people emote, so it's nice to find a man willing to have a genuine feeling on camera.

It's NED! How could you not cry? The most honorable man in this whole show of characters.
Tears are like a standing ovation to great acting.
Sean gave the emotion and you really feel what he feels as he tried to navigate the mess he got stuck in, and keep his family safe.
I've seen this episode a hundred times. Ned's death still makes me cry.😭

This was such a hard episode! Stick with it there are so many amazing pay offs in this show. This episode sets the tone for the whole show. Nobody is safe at any time. YES NED DESERVED SO MUCH BETTER!! Great reaction!

As I said after episode two, nothing and no one is safe. Men, women, children, animals, main characters, they are all literally on the chopping block. And you're right, we all DO love this show, even after this episode and all the fucked up episodes to come. You will cry, but you will also cheer your favorite characters' genius moves, be disappointed when they make mistakes, be confused when the villains do the right thing, and, fear not, you will have your vengeance. And i can't wait to see it!
It really has made me feel the entire range of emotions is such a short amount of time it’s wild!
Their is a game of thrones concert experience with an orchestra but it has spoilers. It plays epic songs throughout the whole show and it does delve into spoiler territory because it shows images too

During the intro you mentioned you'd love to see a live performance of the GoT music with an orchestra. Composer Ramin Djawadi did 3 concert tours of music from this show (with huge screens showing scenes from the show) and I was lucky enough to go every year. It was an amazing show. I even got to see George RR Martin at one of the concerts. It's a shame you didn't watch the show earlier so you could go to the concerts, but then we wouldn't have the pleasure of watching your reactions! 🙂

I rage cried myself. Please stick with it brother. It's worth it! You are in for a long insane extraordinary journey. At least you won't have to wait years like the most of us had to. You can literally watch as many episodes as you want until the finale. Just imagine having to wait a week for an episode to drop and then years for the seasons until the end. You'll get the story full within a month although editing will take longer. I'm sure you'll enjoy this series more than anything you've ever watched! I would like to name a list of episodes where you're going to need tissues but I'm not going to spoil anything for you. I hope your journey will be as satisfying as mine was!

I've never had a show bring out so much hate, love, pain, and wishing for death on certain people but it also brings great revenge... there is a reason it has so much intense fandom. Imagine being with this show and characters for over 10 years watching with the fandom. How much we cared. Crazy

John Snow is what kept me going with the show otherwise i dont like watching favourite characters deaths. John is my favourite alongside Arya but then also Tyrion because of how smart and unserious he is sometimes 😊
The beautiful thing about Ned is, his character is not forgotten and they do an elegant job of keeping his spirit woven throughout the show 🐺

Ned's biggest mistake was that he didn't know how to play the game. He underestimated the people around him. He thought everyone was like him and he didn't bend when it was the smartest or kindest thing to do - which is why he broke. He was good - but he couldn't have ever survived King's Landing. And Robert should have known that.

Ned’s death opens up so many juicy storylines. The deaths in these shows aren’t pointless and just for shocks, the deaths all have storyline fallouts which I love about George RR Martin’s writings

Anyone who even remotely knew Ned would know that the confession was coerced bullshit, that Ned Stark would never. Killing a man as respected and even beloved as Ned like that was a massive blunder. It really shows how short-sighted and stupid Joffrey is; satiating his own vanity and bloodlust by shooting himself and his family in the foot.

Just a quick remark on the "What happens if he doesn't do it": in medieval times a promise of marriage was essentially a binding contract. So binding in fact that the moment the promise was made, bride and groom were as good as married, the only thing missing being the "bedding ceremony" (the consummation of the marriage). There was no need for signing papers, as an honorable nobleman's word was considered a sufficient guarantee.
Yeah that makes sense, and considering he comes from a super honorable family I understand why it wouldn’t be good

You're not likely to see a full-blown battle scene in season one of any show because of the cost. Writers of TV shows know not to write anything on a large scale when they don't even know if they'll still have a show for the second season! (And even if they already got approval for a season 2, production budgets are still not that large in the early seasons). Knocking Tyrion unconscious was a clever way of depicting the before and after of the battle -- and if you think about it, the actual battle wasn't that important anyway.
When you play the game of thrones, you either win or you die. 💔
It’s a heavy show, but somewhat more realistic because it’s not idyllic and the good guys don’t always win. But it speaks to the power of good writing that we can watch something we know is 100% not real and never happened, and have us all in pieces.
Rob has to marry Lord Walder's daughter. Nobody will follow him when he doesn't keep oaths and promises. Or would you follow a Leader that doesn't stand by his word?

This episode was definitely a shocker, but GoT remains still one of my 3 favorite shows of all time along with Breaking Bad and Battlestar Galactica. Nothing else comes close to those 3 for me.
